What I really like about this wiatch is his profile. It's thick yes, but rather nice, especially if you compare it the the gshock square nasty profile. This is why I love to wear it more than gshock square.
I thought owning negative display watch would be really cool but having owned a casio sgw600h for a while now I can say that it's just not functional enough for me. I don't want to have to turn the light on every time I look at the time, oh well you live and you learn! At least I got a good sale price for the watch. It only cost 35 pounds so thats something :-)
Thanks for the modification on the strap, very useful one. Your taste for watches are very similar to mine, so I recommend you take a loot at the Casio db-36, mine came some days ago and I'm in love with it. My w800 it's in the drawer now
@@theshadowrblx9924 it has more functions, for example it have 5 alarms instead of one, and it shows you the day of the week, also you can store around 50 contacts (or passwords). Also it's thinner and lighter than the w800. The bad thing of the db-36 are it's tiny numbers and it's light. Anyways, almost for the last entire year I've been using the Timex Expedition T45181 and I don't miss any of those Casios. Feel free to ask any other question.
@@alexgloba9.90 sure, no problems. Same thing as changing the battery.. You can lubricate the rubber gasket to be extra sure. It might end up being even better than it was.
I had the same experience with the negative display. It’s a nice watch but had to replace it with a Casio royale because the display is unreadable in most positions
Timer is such a useful function, i really don’t understand why casio didn’t implemented it by default. Anyway i did the mod and it works fine. Only question will it keep the. 10bar water resistance?
Hi I had this watch a long time ago, the strap ripped so I got a more solid Polar which lasted also years until I ripped the strap as well, both still work. I need 5 alarms with good water resistant in a small package, the w800 is perfect for me but the lack of the 5 alarms is problematic I heard that mod unlocks the 5 alarms as well, is that true ?
There are 5 jumpers on the right side of PCB, with soldering the 3. jumper you can get the 5 alarm function. I did it yesterday. Only one problem is, that is no on/off marking at the additional alarms only at the original alarm 1.
I saw few videos of people making negative displays by adding some colored plastic foil between the glass and display. Maybe you could make it positive by removing the foil, if there's any... I'm not sure if that works like that, but have you tried? Btw, that strap hanging out loosely makes my eyes bleed. Strap it up neatly, please! :)
W-800H viewing angles are not very good compared to example F-91W which does not have shadows under the numbers like W-800. Maybe that is the reason W-800 negative display is worse?

Why have they blocked the timer function? Apart from the time the countdown timer is the best function

add some oil (not mineral) to the gasket and it should be fine.

why boil water? just put an adapter, and cool 22mm strap on it.
