Thanks for your very informative and helpful video! I just added this machine to my collection and quickly realized that a few “tweaks” were in order. You saved me a ton of time. Rock on!
I don't have the same stripper but the info you just shared is invaluable to many I imagine. This is why I enjoy your videos so much JC. You share really credible information to viewers. All power to you mate, keep your videos rolling because I'm positive we all appreciate watching and I'm sure a lot more will also.
Good video, but every move you do appears reversed when we view this, and maybe check for your sound recording it is unstable by times. In the maintenance, shouldn't it be a good thing to clean (De grease) the gear box and look for ware and tare once in a while ?
Great informational video JC !! I had no idea how to replace the bearings. I found that the gear box on this stripping machine has a plug in it to refill with gear oil. Just under the power switch under the yellow plate !
After about four hours use, the shaft has backed itself out far enough to push the little green plug out, and is now flush with the bearing. I can gently tap it back in. However within a few seconds it works itself completely back out again.
@@scrapitjc is there a fix for that? I received an email and broken English from their U.S. call center. I just want them to send me a shipping label so I can send it back.
I just bought this machine and had the vent plug on the lower end. Forgot to replace it and lost most of my oil. Emailer Company and they recommended 68 grade gear oil. Is there an equivalent to this i could use? Kind of hard to find this grade in smaller quantities. Great video and thank you
There is literally no videos on how to press this bearing. I need help and I don’t have a press. I’ve tried a hydraulic jack but it lifted my workbench a little and I didn’t want to risk it. I’ve tried hammer and socket but I don’t want to damage the new bearing. Any tips please?
Go to harbor freight and buy their arbor press if you have the money. If not then use 2 sockets. 1 that sits on the side of the blade bigger than the bearing. Then another the same OD as the bearing
Hello, I have the same stripper the plastic cooling fan blade broke all the teeth off one by one are there replacement fan blades and if so where do I find them?
Try a little tension on the feed side, or what I do is I set the guide a little lower then the cutter wheel, so the guide pushes down on the wire. Hope this helps.
I didn’t add any oil, just followed the directions in the manual. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing…wondering what I am doing wrong
Take a look at where it is, this can be an easy fix. Remove the blade setup leaving it in its shaft. I use a deep socket and slide it over the end in which direction it needs to move to. Set it against something immovable and give it a slight top, check allotment and repeat as needed. Light taps for you don't damage the bearings. I think you just gave me an idea on a video.
@Michael-gd2mg try taking it down to the blade shaft, mark it where the blade should be. Then press the blade over to that area till centered. Hope this helps.

What you suggested is correct, this was from my early recording days. I've made improvements since then. Thanks for watching
I just got one of those. This is great info. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!

Correct, SAE30 is a good oil to use.
Awesome didn't know that !! I been using gear oil lol
@@scrappingonthefly77 If it works use it that's what I have always used.
I think it needs something thinner. I never thought about motor oil

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
Just a tiny bit of thread lock should do the trick. Super video and info bro. That's good stuff that people need to know!!
That's the goal. We help who we can
Don’t have to take the top off to change blade/bearing. Just run blade to top and back off 2 set screws that hold it in
I usually take it all the way and give it a good cleaning
Cool

Unfortunately I do not know an equivalent grade. I used 90 myself, but that's what I had on the shelf.
I have the same stripper

@Backyardkamadosmokin great tip, thanks for the assist.
How can I can the rollers? Has gotton alot of gunk from wires build up.
I have just given mine a good cleaning. I've never had to replace them
@@scrapitjc with what do you clean them with. Compressed air alone will not do it.
Does anyone know what specifically to look up to find something like the pedal he uses?
Amazon "Foot control Switch"
I love my stripper
It was very good money well spent
Hello, I have the same stripper the plastic cooling fan blade broke all the teeth off one by one are there replacement fan blades and if so where do I find them?
Ok, so that's part of the motor. You would need to look up the manufacturer of that motor. There should be an ID plate on the motor.
What brand is this one? There are a couple on Amazon that all look the same. Could you make a link to this exact one? Thanks. I appreciate the videos!
I tried looking for it and can not find that model again. I even looked in my Amazon history..
hi, do u know if the motor can be rewired to 230v? great video :)
To be honest I don't know. And thanks for watching
Can someone please explain why I can’t keep the wire in the groove? It always jumps after a very short time!
Try a little tension on the feed side, or what I do is I set the guide a little lower then the cutter wheel, so the guide pushes down on the wire. Hope this helps.
Ok perfect, it’s a brand new machine, and I think I had the blade set too low as well, thank you!
@@ryansanders7460 👍👍👍
Why does oil come out of my vent plug while stripping wire?
You could possibly have put too much oil in the case.
