Great video, is there anything better nowadays for the multimedia computer? I'm going to install a backup camera to my E93 soon just wondering if I should get a better interface than the one you installed here 6 years ago
Yes! There is something, we have the MMI Prime (www.bimmer-tech.net/category-bmw-carplay-mmi-retrofit) that not only allows you to have a backup camera and a front camera you will also be able to user CarPlay and Android Auto, mirror your phone and play some music/videos through a USB stick.
Can you PLEASE explain what the RGB-IN HDMI connector is for? I see that I can switch to HDMI as a source on my MMI. But there was no supplied cable for this RGB-IN HDMI connector. I want to understand why it's not included and why it supposedly can't be used with my e90. I'm a technical guy and this is going to drive me nuts if I don't know the answer.

Does replacing the stock handle with the camera affect the comfort access feature?

What changes in this procedure for a car with the steering wheel on the right? I assume the camera wire has to be routed up the left side instead. Does this mean a longer extension cable is needed?
Indeed, the cable needs to be routed on the left side in this case. However, there is no need for a longer extension cable, the standard one should be enough for this installation.

dont need to connect to reverse light to trigger when put in reverse ?
Hi Rami! You only need the reverse light wire if you have a car with a manual transmission (with a clutch).
@@bimmer-tech so will it automatically cut on when car is put in reverse without connecting it to a reverse light? (6 speed automatic)

Hello Juan! I am sorry to hear that. We're doing our best to make the videos as detailed as possible, but the main point of reference has to be an instruction sent together with the product because it's custom made for each BMW model (each model, even the same one, can have different configurations). And the installation itself is a very individual thing, as for some BMW enthusiats it can seem easy, while for others it will be difficult.
