Since the Xbox port came months later, I guess they felt inclined to "update" parts of the game such as mechanics (removal of hopo glitch and minor specific whammy function are all I know atm) and certain songs. These changes range from very minor (this song is a great example, PS2 has an extra 48 points from a longer RB sustain at 2:58) to major such as an extra note in Jessica, cut note in Misirlou, 2 extra SP phrases in X-stream (though they don't change path functionality), and 2 extra phrases in Stop that make the path completely incompatible with the PS2 version (SH's adjusted formula doesn't even try to properly calculate between the two lol).
Another lag scored topped nice job. My questions for you are what has been your most difficult song grind? And since you're going after score barriers would songs like girlfriend (244,90X), or even (258,30X) on women still scores you want to go after?
This didn't beat the lag 1st, those ticks are either impossible or basically optimal without lag. When I beat a lag score there's no need to specify in the title "No Lag Glitch" such as my last upload of Red Lottery. The difficulty question is coincidentally hard to answer because my skill has improved going through the setlist, but even if it might not be in my top-top scores at this point Madhouse still sticks out in my mind as the worst singular grind for a couple reasons. The first was just the blatant difficulty in optimizing ticks alongside the squeezes, the second was the fact that previous 1st had no proof attached and people were just baselessly claiming it was real which left an awful taste in my mouth the whole time. I spent at least 40, but probably closer to 50 hours on that record and it still hurts to think about almost a year later. As for the tick barriers you mentioned, honestly I don't feel particularly inclined to go back to songs just to pick up minor tick milestones (hundreds), especially for songs I've already had to redo like Girlfriend for the 74 untied (no lag glitch) 1sts, but there are a couple I've redone either just for curiosity/fun or because they were just that bad (usually on a new squeeze path). It's not out of the question I'll do more (especially on songs like Woman I haven't played in almost a year) again for fun/curiosity but there's certainly no checklist in that department, I've almost exclusively hunted major milestones (thousands or new squeezes) and don't really have the motivation or time for optimizing every aspect of the game. Thanks for the in-depth questions, always nice having some actual feedback and discussion on these.
Nice! Just curious: what's the reason for the adjusted scores against PS2?
