Saw so many Cold Chisel concerts... then saw Jimmy 'Back for a flash'...... I lived in the Hawkesbury and saw CC at the local RSL many times..... my mum was the CNC for the adolescent ward at Westmead Hospital and Jimmy used to visit the kids. He is the nicest man.

Thanks for my request. Great Reaction. I'm a Very Proud South Aussie (Adelaide). I really don't believe that people in northern hemisphere understand the quality of rock music that came from Australia in the 70s 80s and 90s onward.

The guitarist & first singer is Ian Moss & one of the most iconic voices & guitarists in Australia in the 70s & 80s. Quite the writer & with the keyboard player, Don Walker who was the main writer plus Jimmy also writing & singing they were a phenomenon. They were the biggest band in Australia for those decades. Watched a show in Adelaide, South Australia with the 1st band, being The Angels, the Flowers (later became Icehouse) & then Cold Chisel. The other 2 bands were icons in Australia but not compared with Chisel. Chisel were so tight live & had that energy. They were amazing & some actually came from South Aus. Thankyou for playing them. Please do Khe Sanh

What a great song by a great band. A classic Aussie song.
So many parties I’ve been to late at night. With a lot of drinks under the belt. You will have everyone in a circle swaying about. Trying to sing this but just screaming.
BARNESY is a Aussie phenomenon. He and the band turned their backs on international success. when they were the biggest band in Australia.
Just happy to play at local pubs to there fans.

John Farnham uses this song as a standard, to the point he makes it his own. The version to see is John Farnham farewell tour live in Melbourne. Ian Moss was born in Alice Springs, Australia while Jimmy Barnes was born in Glasgow, Scotland but came out to Australia when he was young. Now, he is as Australian as you can get short of being indigenous, regardless of his accent. The best way to describe Jimmy's voice is; raw with a beautifully dirty edge while Ian's voice is more cultured. Both are brilliant & perfectly matched!!!!

This is a rare Cold Chisel song where Ian Moss gets to do lead vocals, but his guitar playing is as important as Jimmy Barnes' voice is to the success of the band.
it's a shame you're watching the live version of this song and not the originally released studio version. As good as the live version is, the original version featured a brilliant introduction which is sadly missing here. They do pick it up at the end, but the harmonies in the original are exceptional.

Jimmy and Mossy in one band is crazy most bands would do anything to have someone half as good as either one of them and CC have both that's just crazy

Voices are real and so many pub gigs honed them, rather than a studio

Australia's finest rock band. Yes, AC/DC have sold more records but Cold Chisel have superior musicianship, superior and more varied song writing and musical style. Check out "You Got Nothing I Want" to see them really rock with Ian Moss play electric guitar, also Mossy starring playing and singing Hoagy Carmichael"s "Georgia On My Mind". They have been together on and off from 1973 to the present time.

The 'Second Guy' is Jimmy Barnes, you heard him before doing 'When something is wrong with my baby' with John Farnham. You did that song in January this year if I recall correctly. Jimmy was in a black suit, the T-shirt look is more normal for him.
