I wish I could operate such huge organs and play hymns as well as you. Great stuff...I really love the tone of the organ and the way you take absolute control over it. :)
I’m playing this for a meditation at a funeral on Friday. I had presumed it would be to the Londonderry Air. The widow sent me the link just now and it brought up this video. I have about 36 hours to get it sorted. Cheers!
Beautiful. We had this sung at my daughter's wedding in 2005. It was the first time our Vicar had heard it - it was sung by a professional choir and it moved him to tears.
Rob,the more I hear your great Organ work I am really convinced you are such a great musician. I was once too but in my late 70`s now and I`ve lost it a little. Best for the future Rob.
Just a humorous note: I sang this at 2 weddings and both couples are now divorced. I vowed not to sing it again! I'm not sure my singing had anything to do with the divorces, but I don't want to take a chance! Beautiful playing!
Used to be very popular at Weddings up here, Rob, but sadly, Church Weddings are becoming less and less. At our friends' son's Wedding, Summer 2012, at Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, we sang a a new Hymn, "Let's praise the Creator, who gave us each other" to the old Scots Tune, "The Road and the Miles to Dundee." It was really nice. And I've known "The Road and the Miles", since I was a bairn, Rob! (Scots Word for Child)! God bless. Charlie.
Excellent work, Sir! Your voicing was brilliantly done throughout. Your rendition is moving and powerful. As with Mr. Cook, I too have sung "O Perfect Love" at weddings. Some lasted; some did not.
