I have my eye on Enemy Action (either game) and France 40. I love The Hunters. Keep up the great work on the videos. Loved seeing you on with IDjester and Rough
Hi CBC, thank you for the visit and kind words. I ended up getting both of the Enemy Action games... I might have a problem...lol France 40 looks very cool and I am looking forward to when I get it. I had a lot of fun with Jester and Rough and maybe more in the future. =)
I enjoy Western Front Ace: The Great War in the Air, 1916-1918 over Nightfighter Ace. Yet another great Gregory M. Smith game, and hits the WW1 combat itch so well!
@@HissyCat thought I might! :) Forgot to say thanks for the great content. We seem to like the same types of games, and your content and format are so well thought out and great!
Prepare to have your mind blown by the AI implementation in EA: Kharkov. I definitely recommend starting with Kharkov before Ardennes, mainly because it has less book keeping and is generally just a more streamlined version of the system due to the simpler nature of the terrain and battle. Definitely don't sleep on Ardennes though. That game is absolutely incredible. Oh, and as for the community pick - check out Carrier Battle: Philippine Sea
Hi Drewkennewell, thank you for watching and your recommendation. I bought Ardennes yesterday as it’s on sale, and it’s December and feeling the bulge vibe! I may get Kharkov as well =) I own Carrier Battles and love it, in fact it’s highlighted in my 10 BEST SOLO Wargames video =}
Hi casca6664, funny story, I ordered Panzer North Africa from GMT and they shipped me North Africa '41. I had it in my hands and couldn't return it so I paid for it and they shipped my Panzer North Africa, so all ended well.
I also have a copy of Avalon Hill's Tobruk! When you mentioned that game I hit subscribe. I loved setting it up. Got it from a buddy in 1986 and it survived all my moves and sits on my shelf still. Nostalgia. I am currently reading and learning Enemy Action Khakov. I bought it for the same reasons of solo play from both sides. Also now I am interested in Panzer North Africa because I like that area of history. I didn't realize there is a solo version included. Intrigued now I am. Great video. Keep them coming.
Hi Rob, thank you for the visit and subscription, it is very much appreciated. Tobruk is still my favorite old school AH game. Panzer North Africa should be shipping to me any day. I plan to do a compare and contrast video between Tobruk and Panzer North Africa. I also picked up both of the Enemy Action Games and will be diving into both of them. If you haven't seen it yet, here is a little game play of Tobruk on the channel. Its a bit rough as i'm still learning how to create good videos, but its a fun watch. th-cam.com/video/F33EJhTH-UM/w-d-xo.html
Hunters!! 👍 11 missions before getting sunk...lol. France 40!! P500-me too. Zeppelin Raider!! Need to order. Night Fighter Ace!! 😳 Love game, but my pilot is incompetent. Always late, can't find bombers n a couple of crash landings. Suggest GMT Enemy Coast Ahead. The Dambusters Raid. Did bombing once. But wow. Technical. Ill check your four. For the first nine it's either game I have not played or have not had interesting getting just to be up front
Fun video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. For a fascinating take on the WWI zeppelin subject check out "Luftschiff" by Phil Eklund. It's designed as a solo that can also be played by two. The game is narrative but has more room for player agency than many of the narrative games.
First Victories is my preferred title, because it's nee tactical Napoleonic that seems to do things differently than other already published games on that scale and subject. From the poll, another "hex" and "counter" - relatively expensive Combat... Because it's solo and rather rare 1 man - 1 counter scale... That makes me think of so many possible scenarios that can be done. But really - keep enjoying Your work for the hobby and others will enjoy watching Your work :) All the best!
@@HissyCat Sincere thanks! Rains may fall but they will not quench a Holiday cheer or fondness for hm, conflict simulations :) May the Season be Jolly to You, as well!
I have just got into board games a year ago (I am retired), I gave my son War Room by LH. I don't see it mentioned much. Do you have an opinion or know of a review forum that has a discussion?
Hi Kit, thank you for watching, your comment and question. I myself have just got back into board gaming a few years ago and specifically wargaming two years ago, and as such War Room is a game i had not heard of before. I did go search Board Game Geek and War Room has a fairly large following and is very highly rated. Here is a link to the BBG page for War Room that should connect you with a community of War Room players, I may have to do a bit more research myself and think about adding it to my collection. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/229713/war-room
@@HissyCat Larry Harris is the content creator for Axis and Allies entire line over several companies' ownership. He considers it is "grail". I was fortunate to find the first edition of the game. It's 1.0 cm taller....
Very cool. I do not own any Axis and Allies games, i could never find enough players to get a game like that on the table. =( maybe post COVID i should try.
Great selection of games. I’ve tried to leave comments twice with other airship games, but my comments keep disappearing. Not sure why. I didn’t put any links in the comments.
@@HissyCat Oh man, I guess TH-cam's auto machine is taking down my posts for some reason. I am not posting links or anything bad.
