My grandparents came from Pikeville, I went there once when I was 8 years old and I’ve always wanted to go back, I didn’t want to leave in the first place!!! ❤
Best Jail in Eastern Kentucky , Ill give it that ! I've never lived in Pike county, not really even sure how I've ended up in that jail but been there 3 or 4 times . yes I do now ! how could I forget , Hillbilly Days!
I had a really hard day at work and this helps me get better and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).

I really enjoy travel videos, and when I found OAFH I immediately became a subscriber. It's easiest and cheapest way for me to discover intriguing, historical, places and the beautiful scenery around the globe.
Another great video Richard! Who knew there was so much to do in the small town of Pikeville, Kentucky? I enjoyed seeing and hearing about the cut through. Amazing undertaking!
I had no idea about the Pikeville Cut-Through or the re-routing of the river until now. Very interesting and such a massive undertaking! Thanks for sharing.
I didn't know about the cut-through either, until I began doing a little research about Pikeville. I wonder if there is any way such a project would be approved today. My thought is, probably not.
Word has it that when Mayor Hambley introduced the cut-through idea to council, he was almost laughed out of the meeting. An idea and perseverance can eventually make things happen. .@@oldaloneandfarfromhome
