I have been in contact with studio canal who confirmed that they will be doing a disc replacement for the UK steelbook in early 2023
That’s great news look forward to checking out the new features eventually

Studiocanal UK contacted me this morning
They will be doing a disc replacement program in 2023 in regards to the missing extras
Saw this film at the cinema back in 82 or 83 my favorite film of all time, the one thing that bugs me is the added “Rambo” name in the title, this film was released as first blood not Rambo first blood
Yeah it’s always been known as First Blood but I guess using the ‘Rambo’ name could help some people recognise that it’s actually Stallone’s Rambo. I imagine if you also tell someone you enjoyed A New Hope, they might not know it’s Star Wars

UK SteelBook discs is missing the 2 new extras by mistake StudioCanal UK used the 2018 encoding
The German SteelBook from StudioCanal International the discs has correct encoding with new extras

Hi pauly great video as always. Did you ever manage to get to the cinema store in London now closed used to buy laserdisc and DVD there
Those two unpainted leaves on the slip is unforgivable, they should have noticed that on the first one out of the printer but everybody seems to have it. And those ripple effects on the slip aren’t good either. Because the slip is so thin it’s get melted by the shrink wrap machine. My saw steelbook slip cover looks like a JCB drove over it. These are all simple fixes but nobody cares enough to produce a flawless package, except maybe manta type companies. Still a nice steelbook of the best Rambo film.
I have this but apparently studio canal messed up the uk release. Not checked mine yet but apparently the international or Europe release has Dolby Vision and the uk release does not as well as the extras stated or some of them are missing ! And finally can you see the 2 little leaves on the plastic cover that are white..that's a printing error 😃 apart from that its fine. We might get a disc replacement at least with the new 4k DV version.

Just got my sleeve and disc replacement from studio canal..your edition is the same and has the faulty printed sleeve and the same disc with missing features they have now corrected via a replacement program !
Yeah unfortunately they dont offer the replacement programme in the U.K.

Just got mine today, how did you get it 3 months ago I had to pre order it on Amazon I thought it was only just released?

This is the email I got ftom Studiocanal Many thanks for your email. We are aware there was a production error on the Rambo 40th Anniversary Steelbook and that the 2 new extras were not included on the UHD disc:
A LONG ROAD: 40 YEARS OF FIRST BLOOD
THE HUNTER AND THE HUNTED: SCORING FIRST BLOOD
We will be implementing a disc replacement service early 2023.
Please be assured as soon as we have full details we will get back to you directly.

Well that’s great news at least they’ve acknowledged the problem. How will they know who to send a replacement to though do you think I should contact them with my details?

It’s odd “Rambo” is on the slip,but “first blood” is on the steelbook and book. 🤔
A lot of issues with this steelbook set as mentioned in the comments but what still really bothers me is Studiocanals insistence on calling the film RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD! Its very doubtful they will do a disc replacement for this as next year there doing another set so will just issue the new disc then.
Film title was Rambo when released in Cinemas in Germany and France in 1982
This is why Title Rambo is on the Pet Slip
UK Home Media releases for a good few years been using Title Rambo:First Blood
In regards to next year box set that's for USA release from Lionsgate USA
That release will be a new remaster with new extras and is a different release to Studiocanal.
This Steelbook is the 40th Anniversary release and is meant to have the new extras
Studiocanal International used the correct encoding but Studiocanal UK use the 2018 by mistake
The German and France 40th Anniversary Steelbook from StudioCanal International has the new extras
Studiocanal UK has to do a replacement disc program as the new extras are advertised to be included on the back of the UK Pet Slip and also was advertised in Studiocanal UK press release of the 40th Anniversary
@@paulb40 The film was released as First Blood in the U.K. where this set is released so should not have the RAMBO subtitle. As for the other release it is for a U.K. release in Quarter 2 I have seen the pre-artwork. Studiocanal very rarely do disc replacements so will probably just roll it out with the new release next year.

Studiocanal is a company from France if you not aware
Studiocanal UK Blu-ray releases have had Title Rambo:First Blood a good few years that why those UK Blu-ray releases had that title
Cinema release in Germany and France in 1982 was just Rambo is you not aware
This why the UK/France/Germany with exaxt same Steelbook the Pet Slip has title Rambo
The Steelbook itself just has title First Blood as seen in the unboxing video
Pet Slip is just another type of Jcard
Next year box set is USA release from Lionsgate not Studiocanal
Different country releases and different distributors.
Studiocanal UK have done disc replacement before they did this with Wicker Man Zavvi Exclusive SteelBook when it was missing advertised content from their press release.
The 40th Anniversary Steelbook Germany and France from StudioCanal the discs have the new extras
UK release is meant to have same discs content as Germany and France it's been advertised on Slip and Studiocanal own press release for UK/France/Germany 40th Anniversary Steelbook release clearly lists these 2 new extras
@@paulb40 I understand and know about everything you said however I’ve owned various U.K. releases before on VHS, Laserdisc etc and all have First Blood title. I also know about Lionsgates US release next year but the information I have seen is for the U.K. Hopefully for the ones that do have this release they will do a replacement but I’ll wait until next years box set/standard release and pick it up then. 👍🏻

UK VHS was from Guild Home Video
UK laserdisc was fron Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment
The 40th Anniversary Steelbook only has the title First Blood on the SteelBook itself
The Pet Slip is only a Jcard as in removable and uses Rambo as that's was the film title in France and Germany in 1982
StudioCanal is based In France and their Blu-ray/UHD are released in UK/France/Germany/Australia/New Zealand
StudioCanal got rights after Canal+ purchased Carcolo Pictures film library in 1996
They licence out their film catalogue they own the rights to Lionsgate and some other distributors in USA
Previous UK Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases from StudioCanal used title Rambo:First Blood since Optimum Home Entertainment label became StudioCanal in 2011
My copy does not have the new special features on it!!!!
