    Interesting feedback and pleased you enjoyed the bikesafe. Some really nice riding from you, especially your bend work. Well done. ☺

    Been riding since I was a little kid minibike and off-road until I got a street bike late teens. I too, took a motorcycle safety course about 11 years, and wow did I earn so much more than I thought I knew. Your video is very well done! And I suggest to ALL riders to take their safety course, it's well worth it. I'm planning to take the advanced riders course this spring. PS - I lived in Wandsworth Town for about 3 1/2 years back in 1999-2003. Whilst living there I bought a 125cc Vespa to get to work in Southwark and to client meetings all over EC1 and Canary Wharf. The ABSOLUTE BESTWAY to get around London, providing it's not raining! LOL! ;) I lived overlooking the Wandsworth Bridge near the "Ship" Pub. Loved it! Cheers!

      Nice, a little scooter is perfect for those roads!

      Thank you! Looks like your other comment on my 125 vs das video got removed (must have fallen into a youtube hole), but i managed to read it before it did. Definitely agree about harsh clutch control, i was flinging myself all over the place when I got on my 400 for the first time! I think a few months to a year on a 125 is good, but really best to move up after that before these bad habits become really hard to break. Thanks for watching!

    The Bikesafes are great! I did a Mac with the Police when I bought my new Honda back in the late 90s which was free, and 2 Bikesafe courses later.

    What a great advocate for the course and well done on going for it yourself. You might want to consider doing the Biker Down course to complement this one (if you haven’t already). You can clearly see that you are passionate about your riding and will likely cover many miles but Biker Down is one of those courses that you hope you’ll never need but if you do, you’ll be glad you did it.
    Well done and keep up the good work👍👍

    Thanks for this video. I've been riding over 40years and now I'm retired with a bit more time I'm definitely going to book one as I'm under no elusions that my riding can improve 🤣 Stay safe and never trust anyone on the roads. A mate in the police once said to a young rider that remember on thing. You will only ever get one fatel 🤔 which I always say to myself when I think I'm pushing my luck 🤣

    The side road at 6:58 had a vehicle about to turn right across your path (looking at his front wheels) ... you had no plan as to what you would do if he, after the final vehicle coming from his left had passed his intended route, had missed your presence. Your speed was constant ... I have had this situation in the past ... I slowed a little and my plan, just in case he was a "I didn't see you merchant", was to go in behind him if he did pull out ... to effectively turn into that side road for a short distance. I did just that and it turned out that he was drunk when I pulled alongside him after he stalled halfway out of the junction ... always have a plan, particularly for traffic merging in front of you. Do not assume that they have seen you ... yes eye contact can be helpful but without it assume the worst! Couldn't see where the driver was looking in the video ... you very likely may have been able to.

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can see I dipped a little to the right, but could have done it earlier. Sometimes slowing down helps, sometimes they'll take it as encouragement to pull out. Just gotta take it on a case by case basis I think

    • @thepianoman1010
      @thepianoman1010 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ayserides Sorry, but no ... not on a case-by-case basis. That would leave a strong possibility for a collision. A good plan will almost certainly avoid any collision.

      @@ayserides "Dipping" to the right? Absolutely pointless! ... No need to thank me for the free advice which might save your life one day! Case by case basis my backside .. you don't like to be advised do ya?

    Great video and informative. I did a Bike safe in conjunction with Biker down. The extra information given was great and the first aid info given example, tourniquet are back in and how to use them. The removal of a crash helmets on an unconscious rider and learnt about TLC and what in means to a first responder. No one on the course got it right. Do you know what it stands for?
    The info given regarding on road position etc makes you a better safer rider. I did mine in Stevenage, Herts. Recommend 👍🏼👍🏼

    Good for you. Well done. Just wondering why you are not going for your catagory A licence or DAS? Is it to with your age? If not, and you are working your way up it will probably make you a better rider in the long run. All the best and may the torque be with you! (lol)

    Don't be frightened to rev the engine....its what they are designed to do, manufactures test them to far more extremes on a bench than you could realistically do on the road.....it does far worse damage to skip oil and filter changes than to allow an engine to rev...good positioning and nice over take....
