Google is one of the biggest companies in the world with a market capitalization of nearly $2 trillion. However, most people aren't able to name the founders of Google Larry Page and Sergey Brin. This makes as Larry Page and Sergey Brin basically fell off the face of the planet after they stepped down in 2015 from running Google. This is in stark contrast to most tech billionaires who maintain a significant social presence even after stepping down from their respective companies. Since they stepped down, we've only seen a handful of public appearances, and the founders have even relinquished control of the parent company Alphabet in 2019. This video explains what happened to Larry Page and Sergey Brin since they stepped down and what they're working on today.

Profits drive innovation only when innovation is focused on more than the profits themselves. This can only really happen with private companies or public companies with boards that actually know what they're doing within a company and not just investing.

Who wants to keep being called before Congress for stuff when you can spend the rest of your life on a private island, doing a bit of philanthropy here and there, traveling the world whenever you want and having lobster and caviar with 200 year old French wine for lunch?
