Yes! They absolutely do! As you all said, the only time they don’t negatively affect the family is if the entire family is JW. Even then, they encourage the family members to “tell on each other” and support disfellowshipping and shunning their family. My husband says that his family was never the same after they became JW. In the 34 years we’ve been a couple, he’s never been close to his family and it’s strictly due to the fact that he is ex-JW 😞.

It's sad but life go on with or with out my grandmother started it when I was young having studies and then she passed and my grandfather continue My grandfather was so into it that it got to the point that I didn't even want to go to the hall anymore so when I turned 16 I just started doing all kind of route outrageous things and just so I didn't have to go to the whole I played sick I would put hot things in my mouth he take my temperature and it would be high or I would do just crazy things just so I would not go to the hall I didn't like going to the hall I never did as an adult you always feel like okay let me try it again maybe it was the right thing and it seemed like I decided to do all this when I became sick and even though I was still sick everything seemed to be not right like they could not answer all my questions they always say I get back to you I get back to you and they never got back to me so I was just being a publisher and we were sitting in the car and go to Cumberland farms eat and sit in the car maybe do one door and call it a day and put down 3 hours I will never forget that so that's lying so as far as a God go if he do exist which I believe we have a creator he knows they lied he knows that for sure

They really do ruin families! Even to the point of picking loyalty to what they call Jehovah (their leaders) over loyalty to family.

In the 2000s, a woman studied with the JWs. She was not married but had lived happily for 20 years with a man she loved and their two children (8 and 12 years old). After 1 year of studying with the JW, she wanted to take baptism, but as she was not married, she was refused. Her man, who was an atheist, did not want to be forced into marriage over a matter of belief. Over the months, this woman became radicalized to the point of leaving her lover to take baptism. So she left the man she loved and broke up a united family. Today, this Jehovah’s Witness woman is 60 years old. She lives alone and has suffered from depression for several years. Her children, who no longer want to see her, still blame her for breaking up a happy and united family.
Their father, who was abandoned by this woman for a “religious” issue, has rebuilt his life and is happy with his new partner, nevertheless, he is saddened to see the state his “ex” has become.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Watchtower.

      TEACHING ???
Curious I don't know any JW who believes in this double superimposed generation taught by the Watchtower since 2008. Worse, JWs are ashamed of this teaching and do not dare to teach it to others. Who would dare to teach this teaching as wholesome food from God? The JW are so dependent on the Watchtower that they are ready to follow it in all its ramblings to the point of distorting the words of Jesus to artificially lengthen the generation of 1914 which no longer exists.
The more time passes, the more delusional the aging doctrines of this “church” will become.

My family was completely destroyed by JW. I was born in and did everything right but messed up as an adult. My ex took my kids away from me and no one from the hall would support me including my parents. My parents let me live with them for two weeks until my disfellowshipping announcement and then kicked me out with nowhere to go. They did the same thing to my daughter ten years later. I plan on writing a book this year on everything that I’ve experienced and how free I am now.

Being raised in this religion was the absolute worst. The pictures used in “My Book of BS” traumatizes children and can later cause mental health issues, due to the indoctrination. Going to the KH 3x a week, studying and field service is way too much, but it’s meant to keep your mind occupied . Not being allowed to do extracurricular activities after school, only can hang with other JW kids, and being told not to go to college does a disservice to children. It’s a way of making them codependent within the religion, and keeping them from trusting their own way of thinking, or getting other perspectives. This religion is perfect for narcissistic parents to keep control over their children even when those kids become adults. Due to this brainwashing, many have been targeted by abusive people as easy prey. It takes a lot to walk away from everything you thought was the truth, and to be able to find yourself. The healing begins once you’re able to accept it for what it is. It took me forever to search for ex JW support groups, because of the mind control the religion had on me. We’re told that Jehovah will punish us for looking outside the religion for answers, yet my life is so peaceful, and I live more righteously than ever before. No more shame, guilt, and fear. I’m finally free and I’m so thankful that I found this channel

I left when I was 17 going on 18. Ran away because of fysical abuse by my father. Had to figure out everything on my own. I'm the oldest of 5. My father proceeds to tell everyone he knew at that time: i only got 4 kids. Fast forward to about 9-10 years ago, made a move to live closer to my parents, with my kids. And started to go back to the hall with them. Do you know how awkward it is when people come up to you thinking you're your younger sister, and then see them realise: oh wait this is not the one we've been seeing, this one has kids! Asking your dad: i didnt know you had an older daughter with grandkids??! Why did we never see her? And he's standing there sheeply saying that i'm his first and he's so proud of me and to have grandkids....like 🤯 you can't explain denying your daughters existance for 5 years straight just 10 minutes before the meeting starts or after when people are about to go preaching, heading to home or go have lunch... insanity! I'm almost 40 now, thankfully never baptized and the only one out of the cult, we live close to each other, like a 10 min walk from each others home, but there's no real family connection between me and them even though they like to pretend there is. They just don't see an issue with their part of the problems that causes a rift in the family dynamics and the PTSD it gave me.

What is crazy is how Watchtower in their OWN literature have told new converts that they should be able to leave a religion without any issue and that it's wrong if their family and friends don't accept them becoming a JW but in reverse it is NOT ALLOWED to leave the JW cult without any issue. It's BONKERS how so many JW's don't catch this double standard. And there are SO MANY MORE. Mind boggling. LOL

The Video showed a sister whose mom was calling her & she ignored her & then hearing her mom’s voicemail saying she just wants to hear her voice… just thinking of that now makes me cry… like how can they shun & ignore their own moms?🥲🥲 it’s good they had to remove that video. Even some Baptized JWs thought that video was wrong.

JW completely destroyed my family, my cousin is DF’d & shunned, 2 other cousins were never baptised & left in their late teens. I’m inactive & avoid my JW family as much as possible because I’m a grown adult & don’t need to explain myself to them. I’m close to my very liberal mother, she knows to not talk about it to me (basically because she knows I’m going to prove it’s not the truth in about 3 words) I hope she will wake up one day, I don’t mind if she keeps associating (the local cong are lovely people), I just want her to stop giving them money & stop trying to convert other people (she doesn’t have to report anymore). The only reason I haven’t formally disassociated myself is for the comfort of my family, there’s nothing I want to do more than burn that bridge, but I love my parents too much. Obviously I talk to my DF’d & non JW cousin’s more than the others.

If I was asked what was the most shocking thing about leaving this cult, I would answer, how easily you are eliminated from the family. You are just not so important anymore. Even if you are not DF'd or disassociated. It's sad! WT has promoted this behavior, since the beginning of time. We had a couple in our KH that became JW's, later in life. They would always comment at the meetings on how the congregation became their new family. I'm sure the non JW family felt the pull that the cult had on them. These people are down right cruel!

I was never baptized but I remember your family and how they treated disfellowshipped individuals and it was disgusting.i had no family in this organization so it was easy to walk away and start going back to church. When I started going to a Kingdom Hall I was chasing a woman lol
My family was trying to tell me to stay away but I was blinded. However they wasn’t hostile, they didn’t cut contact with me nor anyone I went to church with in the past, they treated me with love and respect.
Even though I was never baptized I get treated with disrespect and disregard from a lot of witnesses because I disagree openly with the doctrine respectfully when asked why I don’t go anymore.

it's like my mother in-law forgot how to be a mother, grandparent, wife following that org being just a recruiter. She forced her religion on grandkids . She influenced them to REJECT their own mother who no longer interested in JW any more. The children eventually REJECT Grandma religion not wanting to go to KH anymore. Eventually she REJECTS those kids for that then it's NO Religion, NO parent to lean on being turned against her. NO grandmother now they out in society making all kinds of mistakes not having any real guidance.
When the kids were better off with their mother in the first place. It's just sad how YOUR own minor, teen child can be manipulated to REJECT their parent by grandma, uncle, aunt, cousin etc in JW's. They are enticed by buying them stuff, taking them to the county fair treating them like GOLD, laughing playing with them as if they are the only ones in the room doing all that to sink their hook into them with the Org. They then watching their grandmother shun, mistreat, ignore, talk bad about their own parent going along with it not speaking up, no defending on why are you doing that to my mother????
Don't ask questions just going along with that foolishness. Creating a divided family for all involved!!! Grandma doesn't care about her daughter spouse or whatever he may think. She don't care what her daughter even think she is taking over their lives shutting them out, willing to destroy them if she is not able to convert their kids into her JW religion and they are not JW's trying to force it on someone else children. These children end up carrying her HATE toward their mother, step father becoming disrespectful, Grandma wants them out and away from their mother household into her own. So she can plant those hate seeds in them.
The daughters baby father isn't a JW' so grandma try her best to block him from his own child using her trailer, property uses her daughter hardships, or influence her to leave him manipulation once again just to have access to those kids to convert. Don't want you on her property calling the police to keep you off her property. So all the whole time the daughter her significant other is being DRAGGED by grandma the older they get 11, 12, 15 the worst she get in trying to block fathers from bonding being family with their own children causing a bunch of problems over and over making the daughters family SUFFER!
The children now is alot older 24, 27 brainwashed following grandma influence over their own mother all those years. They hate mom spouse because grandma hates him for no real reason beside him being in her way trying to convert those kids. She failed to convert them as she failed to convert her own 3 children. These kids barely call, rarely visit really no longer close to their mom any more. Grandma kick them out for not wanting to go to the KH so the step-son comes to mom house. But the damage is already done he has no love, respect for moms spouse following grandma hate thinking he can ignore the spouse and do whatever he wanted in apt eventually sent back to grandma.
been there since he was 4 being the father fig he never had treating him as your own involved in school, took them to ymca, parks basketball, played monoply, fishing trips, out of state trips, a bunch of pics and videos and these day's strangers act if none of that ever happened following grandma hate not wanting folk to be family together. I honestly believe being taken away from his mom prematurely as they were not wanting us to be that family wanting to convert them not caring how we felt. She rather for him to sleep outside in a tent during covid and he got accustomed to that. He eventually got a car ending up living out of that don't bath, shave and he visited his older sister in florida she said she heard him laughing in the bathroom and asked him what was going on?
He got mad hit her he was arrested, get back to SC he broke out a old co worker window so he may have mental issues it runs in their fam. But that same sister carry grandma hate as well no love and respect for her own mom and she is like 2 cans short of a six pack saying things that need to be question her mom was telling me about. Grandma encourge her to take herbs not getting meds getting worst with time. They took them out of our household and grandma teamed up with my ex is a postate going to court lying under oath helping her take my oldest son out of my household trying to ruin me so she can get me out of her way to convert those kids.
She almost destroyed our marriage, ruined our former fam of 8. They just stole another child from my wife and I Oct 30, 2023. a rebellious teen, undeveloped mind they manipulated her to walk away from us behind our backs sent her a train ticket so they been busy taking our kids away from us 4 of them. We have 2 left 2 sons 19 and 16 but they down 100% with me an momma they never been rebellious good young men "A" students, motivated not even into girls yet just sports and video games. They work at Walmart, 16 just got his driver permit my daughter wasn't motivated like them she just wanted to be online all day and trying to look cute putting all that gunk on her face looking like a clown in a circus trying to look light skin. I parent her she get mad so she turned to our enemies ran off with them but she will soon see what I know about them all down that way.
The son grandma helped take out of my household in 2011 he was 14 at the time now 27 haven't seen him since was parent alienated by his mother after stealing all my parental rights away. I had primary custody since he was 4 been with me 98% of his first 15 years. He lives in NC I googled his name the first thing came up his picture in a orange prison suit assualting someone so they taken 4 kids from us off lies and deception wanting to convert them and my ex wanting his ssi check for her household made up false abuse claims. my son was just like my other 2 sons smart, he played middle school and hS football while with me was on track for greatness but he wanted to be the next lil wayne and through me under the bus to go after that. I hadn't seen in person or spoken over the phone since end of 2010. But those 2 women who believe in that JW's and grandma other daughter who stole our daughter recently bought all that drama, hardship, into our household trying to destroy us but we still standing me and my wife! The worldly suppose to be bad and bringing hardship, pain, sadness into our lives and it is the JW members that has done that in our lives wanting our opportunitys, shutting down entitle rights as parents, spouses, family unit wanting what we got going on stopping us from able to enjoy a good peaceful happy life. It's just sad how people can be manipulated into becoming monsters destroying innocent families!

I 💕 Love it when husbands and Wives can be united together as One with each other leaving this cult. That didn't happen for me and my Ex-Wife. I never joined, but I did study, but also did my research as everything has a history, and in my study with them it just didn't feel right, especially when I asked questions as my questions always go unfulfilled, which leads to more questions. My Wife only wanted me to accept it and go along and sometimes she would laugh at me which confuses me further. When we met was at my Mother's home on Christmas Day thru my Sister, as they were friends, of which my Mom would have a Christmas Party. There was no hint of her being a Jehovah's Witness to me, she just had a very kind wonderful personality and great conversation as we spent the whole night with each other, untill she drove home. I only learned of her being a JW three to four months later as we became deeply lovingly entwined in a relationship but even then I didn't back away from her. But her friendship with my sister confused me as my sister is an atheist, our family is Methodist, but as adults my sister didn't go to any church as me and our brother did. I can only guess she was likely a Disfellowship member of JWs, for some reason as, there was a Young Man she was involved with sometime before me as eventually told to me by her and she had gotten an abortion, but despite that I remained in our relationship, not realizing what I was getting myself into and the manner in which we got married within 1 year, as she threatened to break the relationship if we didn't marry within two years, but we ended up marrying within a year, and divorced within 10 years with one child, as I never became a JW. I Marry her because I Loved 💕 her and not her JW Religions, but she did it because of the JW Religion because of the manner in which she treated me as we had many heated arguments. As evenn after our divorce she kept me from my visitation rights from our daughter by leaving the state of California returning to Georgia, but still expecting to received Child support compensation from me but I can't have visitations with our daughter. I find that I was very naive and ignorant as there were signs, but I ignored them trying to get along with her. Even had a meeting with two of her JW Elders and that was of no help for me as the let me know I was not member of JW Organization, as my Wife laughed at me as the Elders left the meeting. I felt so Weird and Despected as a Man, as my Daughter cried not understanding what just happened. She was about four or five years old at the time and Seven after the Divorce as my Ex left out of California to Georgia without a last goodbye with Hug and kiss from her Dad.

I actually knew a witness father who told his 18 year old son that he could not live under his roof if he didn’t want to go to the hall. He put his own son out. He packed his backpack had to go. So yes, watchtower is wicked evil to be able to sever the natural bond between parents and children. Ok, I’m going to find your new instagram right now and message you.

I left over a decade ago, df'd, the full sha-bang. Used to listen to jwfairytales back then, and then haven't really watched any exjw content for years, just getting on with life. Heard a few weird things and curiosity made me have a peak. Came across you guys and you guys are fun. Congratulations on getting your life back, and your videos are funny but informative ❤️ This isn't the religion I left, let alone the religion I was bapped into 😳🤣

  • @marajacobs-proctor200

Yes.And not just because of shunning family members, although that is the most obvious way. Other ways include not celebrating holidays so you are separated from family who aren’t in the cult. I think one of the reasons they started not celebrating was to make sure members aren’t too close to family who might draw the JW away from the cult. Another way is how they keep you so busy and you don’t have time for family. And especially elders are constantly letting their family know they are not important…the talks, congregation matters etc are top priority over family. It weakens family ties.

Hey Y’all, it’s one of your Latter Day Saint fans here… I just want you to know how much I completely love your videos. I’ve had many JW friends in my life, I just never knew about the horrible shunning policy. I find that so so sad! We all know that one of Satan’s tools is to break up families. Strong families are EVERYTHING to a loving Heavenly Father AND to the fabric of a healthy society… whether you’re a believer or not, He loves all His children! It should be our Christ-like love for family members and friends that brings them back into the fold, right? I can’t imagine it any other way!! Anyways… love you guys, keep doing what you’re doing! -jt

With my mother really does seem like her love for me on some level is dependent on my religious beliefs and staying in the organization. I’ve brought up things that the organization has been completely wrong on with false teachings, such as 1914 coming from pyramidology like in the Book divine plan of the ages
And she would start to cry and say I am losing you, etc. and I’ve also made comments over the past that I’ll probably only stay in the religion until she’s dead and I’m going to stop going to meetings overtime etc. and she’ll then say well there’s no point me leaving you any of my money that I get from my car accident settlement etc.
It’s always so conditional with her

My former friend in Crystal lake Thought she had a young female householder & her young son one day while out in service.. but then 2 days later she goes back & the girl answered with her boyfriend and they told her they are not interested… but then my former friend had the audacity later on to tell some sisters that this young woman is an abusive, controlling relationship smh… just because the couple came to the door together for the return visit. Like girl, how you gonna make assumptions. I directed her to read Proverbs 18:13 lol but seriously though. I felt it was appropriate for her to read a scripture about making assumptions without knowing the facts. (But she got all mad & pouty that an unbaptized publisher tried to “counsel” her.)

A 5:29-5:36 I def felt that way growing up as a jw. I just assumed I wouldn't have to think about my future cuz the new system was coming any time now. I thought that was just a me thing, but I was definitely primed by watchtower to think like that. I remember watchign this one video where a helper was lookong back on his journey to becoming a witness. He told this older witness/person he was studying with that he wanted to be a doctor cuz he wanted to help people. This person straight up told him that there wont be a need for doctors in the new system cuz nobody will be sick. He was dumbfounded, obviously, cuz what do u even say to that? I just feel really bad for the older witnesses who were heavily discouraged from pursuing higher education or a good job cuz "the new system is just around the corner!" Now they're of retiring age, and they have next to nothing, thanks to watchtower. It's so sad that they make people "live simply" for the sake of the org.
