Do you offer aeration and overseeding services? If so what are some pieces of equipment that you can't be without? If you don't offer the service, why not?
You’re very knowledgeable about the aeration and over seeding process, I don’t offer it mainly because the lack of aerators at the local rental dealers. They only offer a walk behind and it’ll work you and it’s just not the best. Working on trying to buy an aerator they’re just so expensive just waiting on the right time.
@@douglaney8705 yes sir the walk behind will give you a run for your money! I own two of them, Lawnaire IV and Lawnaire V, and I try to avoid using them at all cost! haha. You should consider buying a used aerator instead of new. It's a seasonal piece of equipment so you don't need to tie up a bunch of money into honestly. There are many on the used market, just make sure you do your research. Thanks for tuning in to the channel.
I’m 70 now, retired but owned a small termite and pest control co in Ga. loved watching your story, how you thank pride in your work. I was raised to do things right, and can tell you were also. Love your videos, and oh I bought my first zero turn and loving it.keep doing what your doing young man!
Enjoyed the video. I love aeration and over seeding. I like using peat moss for topdressing but I have to use my hands. You are 100 on the mask. I wanted to get a landzie for the upcoming season but not in my budget. I will say that I am concerned about the cost of seed. this video was made before the Great Seed Hike of 2021. Lol, I can't imagine what you 2.5 acre person would be paying now for you to seed/fertilize. Thank you for the great videos sir.
Prices for seed have gone through the roof since I filmed this, that's for sure. A 50 lb bag of certified fescue will most likely be over $150 this fall. If you know for certain you'll have some jobs I would get your seed now!
How do you like the spyker electric spreader? How do you have the variable speed control hooked up and how do you have the chute open and close set up?
Good to see another carolina man here. Thought you sounded like a normal. I'll be watching from Asheboro. I own Home Field Advantage Lawn Care need anything holler.
"sounded like a normal" haha that made me laugh. Yea man, just up the road from ya I suppose in HP. Good luck to ya this season...thank you for tuning in
Just make a card with pull off phone number first name tear off piece then hang it in your local supermarket on the board when you walk in the door And on the card that is pinned up to the board make it nice say what you do make sure it says free estimates and local calls appreciated and you my friend will be in business you can also put it at the post office just keep it maintained once a week put your cell phone number answer it instantly
So you do like the Spyker drop spreader? I have the 80# Spyker broadcast spreader and really like it. I had purchased 8 bags of fertilizer Wednesday; and the material was wet inside and my Spyker would not spread it. Do you think the drop spreader would spread the fertilizer even if it was wet? I really want to get one anyways; but just curious if you think it would. I have had this problem a couple of times. I contacted the company today about the wet fertilizer and they are going to reimburse me for the eight bags; 7 of them I spread by hand out of a bucket. Keep up the good work. I don't know how you have enough time to be a NCSHP and do all this lawn work too.
Thanks for tuning in Mark. I talked about the drop spreader at the end of the video. My honest opinion, most spreaders are gonna struggle with wet material. The drop spreader might handle it, but I can't say yes or no because I don't have experience with that situation using it. I strongly believe the Mulch 'N More would do much better with wet material because the gate on it opens up so much that there's no way the fertilizer could not fall out. If I had some fertilizer laying around to waste I would test this issue out. Sorry I can't help anymore than that.
I saw in your podcast with Paul Jamison the other day and saw you have a Ryan ZTS aerator. I have been looking into buying a ride on aerator. I saw some bad reviews for first generation Ryan. Is yours newer and any issues at all? Anything you don't like about it? I like the features it has over the toro/exmark. Would you buy it again? Thank you for any feedback. Keep up the great work!
Any possibility of a autograph hat. Or tee shirt. Thorough information this year is helped me this season. Can pay for it. I’ve got a few coming. Want to frame the shirts like a locker room but for Lawncare in my shop. Probably kinda weird
