There's no arguing that Terminator 2 is one of the greatest sequels ever made. Arnold nails the role, the action is insane, The emotional moments hit so hard, and that scene with him giving the thumbs up in the molten metal is iconic.

Robert’s role as the T-1000 still feels so underrated even today From his training with firearms so that when performing any scenes shooting he wouldn’t blink when firing the blanks to his amazing performance of never blinking or showing visible signs of breathing to really sell the role of just being a “machine”

I mean, to be fair, the dad does seem really cruel to the dog, and pretty dismissive of his wife. Not capital crimes, of course, but not exactly an awesome parent, either.
When I was a kid I thought Dr. Silberman was a disgusting arrogant creep but now as an adult I realize that you can't blame him at all for not believing Sarah's story about the impending apocalypse and war with the machines. I mean nobody in their right mind would believe such a crazy story. If someone told me that story I'd automatically think they're completely insane.
Robert Patrick was a college runner, and was so disciplined that he was able to breathe without showing it or display any signs of fatigue. On the day of shooting the scene where the T-1000 chased after John, Robert Patrick kept catching up to the dirt bike at full speed take after take. Robert Patrick had to go slower because well, you know, end of the movie.
Robert Patrick as the T-1000 is one of the most iconic and memorable villains of all time. The only one who's equally as iconic to me is Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber.
42:49: Joe Morton’s (Dyson) performance here was so believable because, in real life he once was in a car accident where he suffered from a collapsed lung. Morton basically took from that traumatic experience and made it a memorable performance.
12:45 Most people didn't catch it but it was actually foreshadowed in the beginning when John and his friend was in the garage working on it. This happens in lots of films where the killer is after the victim and the getaway vehicle has problems starting with no explanation but the fact that James Cameron actually took the extra step to let you know beforehand that there was gonna be a problem with it starting later is genius.
Easily the last thing i ever paid any attention to. Doesn't really matter. Engines of older things can have starting issues regardless. So kind of irrelevant.
@WheresWaldo05 just because you never paid attention to the detail in the film doesn't make it irrelevant. Details like this are what make the film better when you discover them. THAT makes them relevant. Plus...we don't know what year the bike is according to the year the film takes place.
I know everyone has already said this, but I’m going to say it anyway. This is the best movie sequel ever made! The effects, the action, the directing, all top notch.
The scene where The Terminator has that pissed off look that says “fuck this” and decides to just climb onto the hood of the truck to unleash an entire magazine on the T-1000 at point blank is one of the most BADASS scenes in film history. I would have loved to be in the theater for that moment.

AHAHAHAHA!
According to Cameron it's the most dangerous stunt he's been involved with. But then again, the whole movie is full of insane stunt work. And I do admit, it's always been one of my favourite action scenes and it looks good because it's.. real.
@@Foksuh totally agree. Tom Cruise has done some pretty amazing stuff on the mission impossible series, but I still have a soft spot for a stuntman climbing along the back of a truck being towed. Like you said, it's real. The helicopter under the bridge has to be my number 1 though, incredible skill and balls by the Tamburros, one brother did the fly under and the other did the fly over on the pedestrian bridge right after
I still remember seeing T2 in a theater when it came out with my parents, I was 9 at time and loved it as a kid and still to this day it's one of my all time favorites. Holds up really well.
Interesting tidbit, Linda Hamilton has a twin. Also Lewis, The Cop. One to play the calmer Sarah, the other to be musclier one. Another, is that Robert Patrick was actually a track and field runner. He can run fast. So, that was really him running up on John with the bike. He actually had to run slower, because he would catch up to John quickly.
The overall idea of the 1st and 2nd movie is just amazing. Two of the most scientific theories about time travel. -Theme of the first movie "the fate" - showing us that for those who time travel the future can't be changed. As examples of that, movie shows us two infinity loops: John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time > Kyle fell in love with Sarah > John Connor is born > all repeats. Skynet sends Terminator back in time > Terminator is destroyed but some parts remain > by studying these parts humans creating Skynet > all repeats. In both cases, cause and effect are interrelated. -Theme of the second movie "there is no fate" - showing us that future can be changed, but only for those who are not involved in that future yet. Only those who are in present can change their own future. That's why second movie had the happy ending with aged Sarah, and John playing with his kid, where Skynet wasn't created and Nuclear war not happened. And as there is no third option for time travel result - there was no intention to make another Terminator movie. Cameron did a great job with two movies and ended his story, repeating many times in interviews that there is no reason for a sequels because the plot will either be stupid or a copypasta. But greedy bastards in Hollywood decided to start milking shitty sequels and ruining them more and more until the franchise finally turned into a clown fiesta.
A clown fiesta 😂 Damn it did turn into that. Still haven't seen Dark Fate. To me, it's just Judgement Day and the original Terminator, all others movies don't hold a candle to the original 2. Rise of the machines is an ok time, if you're under the influence 😅
@@DataCab1eAnd the security guard and the T100 copy of him are also played by 2 twins. Another fun fact is when Arnold is in the mirror he is played by his Twin. Danny Devito.
14:00 Fun fact: None of the camera crew wanted to go under the bridge for that out of fear of you know...dying. Cameron then grabbed the camera and took the shot himself. Also love the little detail during the helicopter chase that the T-1000 has 4 arms with 2 flying and 2 firing amd loading his gun
@@k5sss Nope. There are at least two takes. You'll notice it's shot from two different camera positions, and you would see the other camera car from either position. The chopper pilot was Chuck Tamburro. A real badass. Legendary movie/TV chopper pilot. He also played the pilot in the "Get Out" scene and got his image scanned to be inserted onto the T-1000 'blob'. Who did refuse was about everyone else, which is why Cameron operated the camera himself for the flight throughs.
In the scene where the T1000 chases John on the motorcycle, Robert Patrick was such a good runner that he had to intentionally run *slower* because he kept catching up to the bike!
Something a lot of people miss is that the guy taking pictures of Arney in the mall is the cop the first terminator knocked unconscious and stole a squad car from. The actor (can't remember his name) is one of James Cameron's writing partners.
In a few scenes twins are used. The red headed security guard that was killed has a twin. Linda Hamilton had a twin sister who appears in the movie twice. Once in the nightmare scene and once when the T-1000 is impersonating her.
That’s one of my favorite lines in the movie and I feel like it’s under appreciated. When Sarah asks John how many police are outside and he says “All of em I think.” 😆
I love the duality that BOTH Terminators become more human throughout the film. The T-800 becomes more understanding and caring, and the T-1000 actually becomes psychopathic and sadistic...it ENJOYS killing people, or is at least fascinated by it. In the actual lore and interviews with James Cameron, Skynet was afraid of the T-1000, of what it had created, which is both ironic (mimicking a creator being scared of it's own creation) but also why it was still an experimental prototype. It was a last resort by a panicked SkyNet, but wasn't "done cooking" yet...it became too human, in the worst of ways. And Sarah, for a bit, becomes a Terminator. This film man...:)
Used to think I loved this better than the first because as an 80’s baby/90’s kid I saw this one first. But nope. It is just better than the first. It’s rare when the sequel surpasses the original, but this nailed it.
I never realized the reason why Judgement Day still happened after this movie was because they literally forgot to destroy the other arm he crushed in the factory. So they’re essentially back at square one with him leaving behind an arm and they just delayed the inevitable.
Did fhey ever mention that in any of the other movies though?….i mean T3 pretty much ends with *SPOILER* judgement day is inevitable…but i dont remember them ever mentioning the arm
John's foster mom is a James Cameron actor: Jeanette Goldstein. She was in Aliens, Titanic, also Lethal Weapon. She's a fantastic character actor, very underrated.
I'm so glad you didn’t know about the Arnold twist ahead of time! The original trailers spoiled that, for everyone who saw it back in 91, so when the two Terminators first meet, it didn’t have the same level of tension. Without the twist, it didn’t feel like Connor was truly in a no-win situation.
I love what an absolute fucking badass Sarah Connor is in this movie. Her acting from the first to the second one are soooo different, its so impressive.
1. Linda Hamilton should have been at least an Acadamy Award for best actress. 🤩 2. My guess is that stove is hot🧐 3. We have limited AI now, so does China.😱😱 4. Arnold did many, but not all of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motorcycle. At one point he was injured, and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover. 5. Arnold is not left-handed, but the way he works that shotgun is impressive😲 6. The twin security guards also play in "Good Morning Vietnam". 7. GOOF: Enrique's dogs don't respond to "Uncle Bob" as a Terminator. 8. "I need a vacation" was ad lib. 9. This is the action movie GOAT.🤩
26:17 actually all bullets have stopping power. Obviously the bigger the gun and the bullet the bigger the stopping power. And while they can't stop the terminator completely they still slow it down.
The whole movie is gigantic. And the effects are still top class today. After all, the sci-fi action is over 30 years old. There was an Oscar for the crazy tricks. Incidentally, Cameron already offered a water version of the liquid metal effect in 1989 in “Abyss”.
It was so fun realizing you didn't know the twist and seeing your realization :D Robert Patrick was told he had to run a lot. He got in such good shape that he'd easily catch up to the motorcycle and car in their respective chases
3:35 Yes, they did equip the terminator with the external parts "down there". Probably zero function other than to look human. You actually see it in the first movie.
Arnie playing a positive role was his own personal condition to act in T2. Story had to be adjusted to that requirement, and in result we got the perfect movie
This film has aged so well. These effects are even better than what you see today. This is by far the best second part ever made. I saw the film for the first time in 1992 when I was 12. Unfortunately I was too young and wasn't allowed to go to the cinema. My father later had the film on video cassette and that's when I saw it for the first time. I was totally overwhelmed and completely blown away. I then watched the film with my friends, I don't know how many times. I'm 44 now and have seen the film at least 50 times. I still remember when I saw the film for the first time and the T-101 "dies" at the end, I cried so bitterly. I still have that feeling at the end... This is without a doubt the best action film ever made. Thank you for this experience as a child and even today! Thank you James, Arnold,Robert ,Linda, Edward and all the others for this masterpiece! Chapeau! I'll be back 👍🤝🥹
If you play the 2019 Terminator game, you find out John sent Kyle Reese and the T-800 to '84 and '91 at the same time, or moment from the future. Pretty good game, you guys should watch it.
Although there are other sequels, "Dark Fate" (2019) is the only one that has Linda Hamilton,. Arnie & James Cameron (Producer, story) reuniting and considered canon. Opinions vary on the movie, but the events of the other sequels T3 onwards are considered alternative universe. Dark Fate is set after the events of T2.
This movie was mind-blowing when it came out, I had to go back the next day in theaters and watch it again. Seeing this in theaters was awesome. The amazing stunts, like the helicopter going on the bridge, was top-notch stunt work compared to other action movies. Today, most of the stunts would now be CGI created. This is one of, if not the best action movie of all of cinema.
Michael, James Cameron only directed the first two movies! So there's your answer as to why this seems pretty final, but they continued making more movies anyway...
Great reaction to one of the best sequels ever! Some notes: The man taking pictures while looking stunned in the mall is the same character (and actor) who was the police officer that Arnold took the police car from in his pursuit of Kyle and Sarah in the first movie. That's why he looks stunned: he knows who this guy is and he knows the damage and killing he was responsible for the last time he saw him. He's also the source of the current day photos the officers show Sarah in Pescadero. It's not mentioned or referred to in any editions, but it is an Easter Egg that a friend of mine showed me. Robert Patrick trained so hard for this role as the T-1000. Training to fire a gun without the reflexive blink. Learning to run full speed only breathing through his nose, and he was fast enough a sprinter that he actually caught the dirt bike in the mall parking garage. He was so amazingly intimidating in this movie, as much as or even more so than Arnold, and that's saying something! When the orderly licks Sarah in the hospital, that was apparently one of the so-called catatonia tests done by unethical or sadistic orderlies according to an old friend of mine who had worked in a few psych hospitals in California back in the late 70s and early 80s. It wasn't unusual for patients to try to get an advantage by pretending to be catatonic, hoping that the staff would think that they were out of it and not pay much attention so they could try to escape, create havoc, or whatever. Licking someone's face was a mild way of testing, according to my friend. The more standard way of testing among the more brutal orderlies was what was called a cup check, basically hitting the person in the crotch as hard as they could with a broomstick or something like that (the tonfa, shown in the movie, or a billyclub, wasn't standard when he was working in the field, so the evil jerks had to use other items like broomsticks or knees). If they didn't react then they were catatonic. And, sometimes, the catatonic patients needed to be taken to the hospital due to the damage inflicted by whatever the orderly did causing ruptures or internal damage. Apparently one patient lost his testicles as it was several days before it was realized how badly he had been hurt. And, of course, no one ever knew how it happened. “He musta fallen, or done it to himself to try to get out of here.” My friend never missed that job. He told me that some people did things worse than that, but those stories don't need repeating. There are two sets of twins in this movie. One set are the brothers who played the security guard at Pescadero and the T-1000 imitating him. The other set are Linda Hamilton and her twin sister Lesley who played the other Sarah in the sequences like the nightmare where there are two of her are in the same scene. Lesley, a nurse in real life, passed away several years ago. There is a scene in the extended edition of the T-101 trying to learn how to smile that was cut from the theater edition cos it doesn't add anything of value to the story, but it does lead to a point that amused me once I saw it. After the cut scene with his failure copying the young man's smile unsuccessfully, the Terminator begins copying John's mannerisms and his one sided half smirk smile. This is best seen in the exchange after he hefts the minigun in Sarah's arms bunker and at his "Trust me." at Cyberdyne. I remember learning that Cameron got a letter from a group of scientists congratulating him for the most realistic depiction of a nuclear detonation in a city in Sarah's nightmare. This horrified him since he was just trying to create the most over the top terrifying image he could, only to discover that it was accurate. Luckily, Sarah stepped back from Terminator mode before killing Dyson, which is good. Killing Dyson wouldn't have changed much of anything anyway. Cyberdyne still would have had the parts, all his notes, and everything they needed to complete the project. Judgment Day would have come, just on a different day other than Michael Jackson's (and my little sister's) birthday. The excellent Joe Morton, who played Dyson, had an accident that punctured one of his lungs when he was younger, so he knew firsthand how Dyson should be breathing/gasping at the end. And, when you get right down to it, the biggest damn hero in this movie was Miles Dyson. When faced with the reality of what his creation will be used for he changes from dispassionate scientist and loyal company man to willing revolutionary who willingly sacrifices his life for the future. He's even more heroic in that he gives the SWAT team who have mortally wounded him the chance to escape and save their lives. I do give the SWAT team a break since they were unaware of what was at stake and, having already been fired on by a fricking minigun, were under orders to shoot first and neutralize the threat instead of disarm and capture. The first Terminator's arm couldn't have been used as a replacement for the second Terminator. The surviving arm from the first T-800 was the right arm, and the arm lost by this T-800 was the left arm. In my opinion the extended edition had two advantages over the standard edition. Though it wasn't obvious in its performance, the continuous damage the T-1000 was taking from every shot that hit it and every impact was affecting it. It is most obvious at the scene in the smelting plant after being shattered when, as shown in the theater release, its feet tended to take on the aspect of the flooring as it walked and, in the extended edition, when it grabbed a railing its hand mimicked the paint job on the railing. Also, in the extended edition, at the final scene when Sarah is calling out for John, he looks down and sees that the fake Sarah's feet look like the ironwork that the T-1000 is standing on and he knows for sure which to trust. The extended edition variant ending is also superior (to me) for one more reason: it ends with older Sarah sitting on a playground bench and watching her adult son playing with her granddaughter, meaning that this Terminator movie is absolutely the end of the franchise, and all the movies that steal the name of the series after this are just lame cash grabs and can and should be avoided like the plague, in my opinion.
I agree with most that this is my favorite Terminator movie. Like Aliens II, Terminator 2 was better than the original, but like all sequels they need these great original movies to set up the characters and story.
Sarah Connor Chronicles (tv show starring Lena Headey as Sarah) follows T2 and covers some of those interesting questions you guys have. I highly recommend it. Otherwise, T3 follows in a different storyline. T:Salvation is in the future. T:Genisys is a reboot with a changed timeline. T:Dark Fate is a hard series reboot. All can be viewed as alternate timelines.
Fun Fact: Robert Patrick (T-1000) during his younger years is actually a track and field athlete during the mall garage chase scene, he actually caught up to the bike ruining the take 😆.
My favorite movie of all time. This is the action movie to watch, the holy grail. Glad you two got to watch this and the first movie as well. It is perfect in every way, and glad more and more people get to experience it. Love your reactions to T1 and T2.
Two things about this movie: 1. Although the T 1000 was CG, nearly all of the movie was done with practical effects, from the explosions, to the truck crashing into the canal, to the helicopter flying under a highway overpass. 2. That scene where the guard’s T1000 doppelgänger kills him was actually filmed with twin brothers.
That perfect two point flying motorcycle landing is I think the absolute most incredible practical stunt I have EVER seen in a motion picture... especially when you realize it follows very shortly after what I've always thought was the WORST large vehicle practical stunt, INCLUDING the freeway gap bus jump and landing in Speed, ever seen in a motoon picture. I mean the bike lands on BOTH wheels simultaneously and doesn't bounce or wobble or weave. It looks like Arnie is in COMPLETE command of that bike almost as if the bike is part of his body.
I've seen and touched some of the props in person particularly an "Arnold dummy" which they use for damage scenes. It's hard to state how great all the technical effects they made for this are. When I look back at movies my mind jumps to CGI and forget it wasn't so prevalent the further back you go. I think people would be surprised to know how many effects were physical and contraption based even the liquid Terminator effects. Throw in the identical twins acting as the doppelgangers and real fire and such because they understand the human eye can discern that when it's fake. Just the amount of thought, work and devotion they put into everything before even touching on the story and performances in this.
T2 is arguably the best sequel and action movie ever made. We wouldnt have any of the action blockbusters today if it wasnt for Terminator 2. The Matrix, X-Men, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Michael Bay, none of it would exist. T2, Goodfellas, Dances With Wolves and Silence of the Lambs really set the bar for the 1990s. And Terminator 2 still feels as fresh and new as the day it came out. In hindsight, i think Linda Hamilton was totally robbed of a Best Actress nomination. Her Sarah Connor is one of the greatest, most iconic female characters ever put on film. And thats largely due to Linda's powerful performance. Its a shame you weren't there to see this masterpiece in theaters. The sound was PHENOMENAL. Easily one of the best movie-going experiences of my life. Terminator 2 was the most anticipated film since The Empire Strikes Back and it did not disappoint.
Fun Fact: Robert Patrick that played the bad Terminator in that first scene where he chased Connor on his motorcycle on foot. The few first takes, he would always catch up to Connor while maintaining that zero emotion face. Later on, they had to put Connor on a platform and drove him off with a car so that Robert wouldn't be able to catch up with Connor.
1:04:46 - No, he didn't have a plan. What happened was that the rights got sold to another studio and the studio told Cameron they were making a movie with or without him. James Cameron then said he would come back, but only if he had full creative control and he promised to do for TERMINATOR what he did for ALIEN. The studio read his proposed script (which he invented basically on spec) and they decided to back his costly vision, resulting in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY being the single most expensive movie in history up to that point. And not just because of the revolutionary VFX either, they gave him the budget to do action on that scale and do it for real: the Cyberdyne building and the steel mill were all sets built for the movie. And they closed huge parts of Los Angeles to film their vehicle chases on location for months and months. And he used every big scale blockbuster prep methodology he learned making T2 in order to make his next film TITANIC.
The guy in the mall taking the photos “guess who’s gonna be on the front page of everything” is the cop from the beginning of the first movie that Arnold knocked out right before he stole the police car.
I heard when Robert Patrick was training for the role, his trainers would be at intervals around the track to remind him to relax his face as he wanted to master the completely expressionless running, no matter how many takes he had to do and the effort really shows!
The budget for the first Terminator was USD 6.4 million. The budget for the second part was USD 100 million. The better visual effects were therefore not only due to advances in technology, but also simply to a much higher budget.
@13:29 the T-1000 was such an amazing civil servant. Those two vehicles crashed into each other just before he arrived at the intersection, and to make room so there isn’t a traffic jam, he moved the vehicles out of the way. That officer deserves a promotion Edit: the poor guard that was kneecapped was still lying on the ground in pain when they escaped. Wondering why he didn’t call for backup the entire time they were inside the building
The opening scene with the cyborg stepping on a human skull is so powerful. This scene just shows power: "come fight me if You Dare"😁. I can't imagine what chance we humans have against that. 😁
Part of what make the special effects in the movie work is the fact that Cameron got his start working under Roger Corman, AKA "The Pope of Pop Cinema", "The Spiritual Godfather of the New Hollywood", and "The King of Cult." He basically taught a bunch of Hollywood directors how to make films on the cheap and do practical effects, and the great one that came out from under his tutelage include: James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard; and on the actor end you Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, Bruce Dern, Charles Bronson, Dennis Hopper, Tommy Lee Jones, Sandra Bullock, and Robert De Niro. And that list is just he a-list names that he produced, but half of the town got their start in Corman's B-movies.
In the first movie, the Terminator beats up a cop and steals his car, that cop is the guy taking pictures at the mall (12:32), that's why he looks so shocked, because he recognized him.
Best bit of trivia. There are two sets of twins in this movie. The large guard at the asylum and sarah connor. They used the twin instead of cgi to have the person and the t1000 copy in the same shot.
It's funny when reactors give approval for something certified a timeless classic. It was known 30 years ago this was a banger of a film and it is a fact this is the best Terminator movie.
This was followed by four more films, a 3D theme park attraction, a TV series, comics, graphic novels and videogames. The actress playing the foster mom is also in Aliens and Lethal Weapon 2. This grossed over $500 million at the box office and won four Academy Awards. The song playing on the boombox is "You Could be Mine" by Guns N Roses, which was made in to a music video for this. Jean Claude Van Damme starred in the sci-fi action film Universal Soldier a year after this. Arnold Schwarzenegger's terminator, "Uncle Bob", is the Model 101/Series 800
One thing people forget about skynet still existing coming about is that in T1 you had the chip and the arm left in Cyberdyne facility that jump started the research and made skynet come into existence sooner. In T2 you see the arm and the chip from the first terminator thrown into the molten steel before the second terminator is lowered into the same molten steel. It's doubtful the second terminator arm was recovered by Sarah and John from the steel plant, there also was never any mention of it. This second arm is presumed to have been left behind which is where the idea will still exist. Difference in time line is as follows. T1 : Skynet was built for the US military by Cyberdyne Systems for SAC-NORAD. T2 : Cyberdyne gets a jump start on developing Skynet due to the arm and CPU chip left in their facility at the end of T1. T3 : Cyberdyne is no longer a part of the development of Skynet as Cyberdyne and all their research was destroyed along with their head guy being killed. I won't spoil T3 however outside of saying Cyberdyne isn't involved anymore as it was taken out of the picture in T2.
There's no arguing that Terminator 2 is one of the greatest sequels ever made. Arnold nails the role, the action is insane, The emotional moments hit so hard, and that scene with him giving the thumbs up in the molten metal is iconic.
To me personally, this was the definitive ending to the Terminator universe. Nothing was able to top this, not one sequel.
Hands down
Unironically, the only competitor for best sequel would also be Cameron's _Aliens._

On the day of shooting the scene where the T-1000 chased after John, Robert Patrick kept catching up to the dirt bike at full speed take after take. Robert Patrick had to go slower because well, you know, end of the movie.
Easy to do when a cut scene only shows you run for 5 second tops. 🙄😑
His personal performances were some of the best.
He also stopped taking his asthma medicine for the scene to make the breathing more realistic.
that's why as a kid this scene really traumatised me
John's foster mom also played Vasquez in Aliens (1986), two of the best movies ever made!
She was also in lethal weapon 2 , her character was a cop who died when she got blownup diving off her diving board
@@AntoineRideaux-wd1zk Also the maid in the motel in fear and loathing in las vegas.
When he said "Get down!" and shot the T-1000, that was the same reaction everyone had in the theaters back in the 90s.
“ if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can, too.” - such a great memorable gem drop
So far that particular musing by Sarah Conner has not been realized.
too bad it's not true.
earlier this year, they were training AI,
& after like 4 days, the AI was training other AI that humans need to be destroyed
"Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver."
Jesus, that's dark...and hilarious! :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I came here to say this! That was hilarious!
You can get gold chrome duct tape nowadays.
one of the best sequels and action films ever made
action movies, probably on top 3 movies of all time!special visual effects, certainly on top 2
Friday the 13th part 2 did similar, but not as smoothly nuanced as T2 did it
Easily the last thing i ever paid any attention to.
@KHAOE1 But I KNOW what year that bike is based on looking at it. That's what makes film great. Noticing the little details.
I know everyone has already said this, but I’m going to say it anyway. This is the best movie sequel ever made! The effects, the action, the directing, all top notch.
I don't know.... Empire strikes back did a pretty damn good job of surpassing a new hope. But it's still hard to disagree with your assessment too.
I would go as far as to say the best movie ever made, legendary
me talking about aliens.
What about Aliens?
Halloween 2 (1981)
The scene where The Terminator has that pissed off look that says “fuck this” and decides to just climb onto the hood of the truck to unleash an entire magazine on the T-1000 at point blank is one of the most BADASS scenes in film history. I would have loved to be in the theater for that moment.
shows his POV while looking around in the cab - "structural integrity at critical" - selection of choices as follows - Take the wheel
- Ill be back
- Fuck this, I'll be right back
- Here hold the wheel I have an Idea
be be be be be akl;dfjl;ajfl;kads speed bump - - - execute - "Fuck this" - throws the damn M40 down almost in anger, grabs the AR and turns the T1000 into his rendition of the hull of the Black Peal in the first film. AHAHAHAHA!
According to Cameron it's the most dangerous stunt he's been involved with.
But then again, the whole movie is full of insane stunt work.
And I do admit, it's always been one of my favourite action scenes and it looks good because it's.. real.
The way he braced himself with one hand and just HIPPED it till the gun was empty was indeed rad af
Vivian a goddamn freak! Saying "Ass shot. Ass shot" when Arnold was stealing the biker's clothes. 😂😂😂
Freaky is good
FUN FACT: The SWAT Leader that orders his team out when seeing Myles with the detonator is Dean Norris, AKA Hank from Breaking Bad. :)
I never knew that, but looking at his eyes it's like oh yeah😮
He’s also in lethal weapon 2.
@@davidmunro546 And in Total Recall a year earlier with Ahnuld.
And he gets beaten to death in the opening scene of jet Li's the one.
Robert also had to learn to breathe through only his nose when running
@CalrissianGaming Yep. Had to learn not to blink when firing a gun. These actors did an epic job.
The twin died few years ago sadly
@@Time4utube Yes, that was sad news. 😥
😎👍
A clown fiesta 😂 Damn it did turn into that. Still haven't seen Dark Fate. To me, it's just Judgement Day and the original Terminator, all others movies don't hold a candle to the original 2. Rise of the machines is an ok time, if you're under the influence 😅
In the dream, Linda Hamilton’s RL twin, Leslie, played the mother Sarah character with the kids on the playground.
As well as the T-1000 mimicking Sara in the steel mill, and a complex mirror scene cut from the theatrical version.
@@DataCab1eAnd the security guard and the T100 copy of him are also played by 2 twins. Another fun fact is when Arnold is in the mirror he is played by his Twin.
Danny Devito.
She did stunts as well
14:00 Fun fact: None of the camera crew wanted to go under the bridge for that out of fear of you know...dying. Cameron then grabbed the camera and took the shot himself. Also love the little detail during the helicopter chase that the T-1000 has 4 arms with 2 flying and 2 firing amd loading his gun
And there was only one take because the pilot refused to do it again.
Yeah Robert was a star athlete in high school.
49:52 I saw this in theaters and 1000 times since, and never thought to use the arm he had as a back up.
Wrong arm, he lost left arm
@@No_Saint_ Yeah makes sense. Just meant as a notion itself.
Something a lot of people miss is that the guy taking pictures of Arney in the mall is the cop the first terminator knocked unconscious and stole a squad car from. The actor (can't remember his name) is one of James Cameron's writing partners.
Yeah because everyone should miss it unless they’re autistic
100% right but part one was also very, very good.
In the film, Arnie's arm is left behind in the factory again. In the book, they go back, find it and throw it in the hot metal.
Thanks for that tidbit. I wondered about that.
"I wonder where they go with the other terminator movies"
trust me. you don't want to know LOL
I think they should know through Salvation and stop there.
30년이 지난 영화지만 터미네이터2는
정말 명작중애 명작이죠👍인생영화!
All these years and I never quite noticed the third hand. Incredible. 😂😂😂😂😂
21:34 Actual twins. See them again in "Gremlins 2: The New Batch".
Too bad they only made TWO Terminator movies. But maybe that's for the best.
T4 is worthy
Just because the ones after Salvation sucked doesn't mean you need to disrespectfully dent their existence.
John's foster mom is a James Cameron actor: Jeanette Goldstein. She was in Aliens, Titanic, also Lethal Weapon. She's a fantastic character actor, very underrated.
I hope you guys watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles show too. That was a really good one.
They REALLY need to figure out a way to cast Janette Goldstein in the next predator movie, so she can join Bill Paxton in the trifecta.
😂😂
She, Paxton and pretty much the whole 'Aliens' cast were together in the 1987 flick 'Near Dark'. Not great, but a fair time-waster.
I love what an absolute fucking badass Sarah Connor is in this movie. Her acting from the first to the second one are soooo different, its so impressive.
1. Linda Hamilton should have been at least an Acadamy Award for best actress. 🤩
2. My guess is that stove is hot🧐
3. We have limited AI now, so does China.😱😱
4. Arnold did many, but not all of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motorcycle. At one point he was injured, and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover.
5. Arnold is not left-handed, but the way he works that shotgun is impressive😲
As an 80s baby it makes my heart so happy you guys are watching these. My childhood! ❤
It was so fun realizing you didn't know the twist and seeing your realization :D Robert Patrick was told he had to run a lot. He got in such good shape that he'd easily catch up to the motorcycle and car in their respective chases
You can see the Terminators Human "Plumbing" in the beginning of the first movie
The God Tier, Gold Standard, in Action Movies.
3:35 Yes, they did equip the terminator with the external parts "down there". Probably zero function other than to look human. You actually see it in the first movie.
The never ending circle is called a causality loop.
Arnie playing a positive role was his own personal condition to act in T2. Story had to be adjusted to that requirement, and in result we got the perfect movie
Everyone ive ever seen gives appropriate props to his friend who wouldnt give him away to the cop looking for him.
Chapeau! I'll be back 👍🤝🥹
12:21 I love that the T-1000 looks at the chrome mannequin like "Why does he look like me?" Great foreshadowing.
Be sure to watch the extended version of this movie! It fills in some of the blanks and also has an upbeat ending.
The scene with the bomb going off at the park gave me nightmares as a kid lol 😂
I don't believe,who's not Never watching this!!!???
This movie was mind-blowing when it came out, I had to go back the next day in theaters and watch it again. Seeing this in theaters was awesome. The amazing stunts, like the helicopter going on the bridge, was top-notch stunt work compared to other action movies. Today, most of the stunts would now be CGI created. This is one of, if not the best action movie of all of cinema.
Agreed! I put it up there with Die Hard.
@@JasonRule-1 Die Hard is another great action movie 👍
Every Terminator Movie has one thing in common...They love chasing their victims with Heavy Vehicles
Vivian"s reaction to Dougie getting his face smashed was hilarious 😂
Michael, James Cameron only directed the first two movies! So there's your answer as to why this seems pretty final, but they continued making more movies anyway...
Great reaction to one of the best sequels ever!
Some notes:
The man taking pictures while looking stunned in the mall is the same character (and actor) who was the police officer that Arnold took the police car from in his pursuit of Kyle and Sarah in the first movie.
Diese CGI,s von 1991 ...( ILM ) sehen heute immer noch besser aus als so mancher Effekt von heute ! .Der Film ist Super gealtert ...
I agree with most that this is my favorite Terminator movie. Like Aliens II, Terminator 2 was better than the original, but like all sequels they need these great original movies to set up the characters and story.
"Van Damme would do it!!" Haha
He would insist on it
Sarah Connor Chronicles (tv show starring Lena Headey as Sarah) follows T2 and covers some of those interesting questions you guys have.
T-100: "I have detailed files on human anatomy"
[2 seconds earlier] " what's wrong with your eyes?"
There was only about 3.5 minutes of CGI and IIRC they cost about 30 man years to produce.
Arnold plays Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin six years after Terminator 2
Vivian's BEST reaction, ever!
Michael Boose is my absolute favourite person. Its just an intellectual joy to watch a movie with him.
22:23 "There are 206 bones in the human body. 207 if I'm watching Gossip Girl." - Deadpool
This and jurassic park are two early 90s movies that were just way ahead of their time.
PS whoever edited this video deserves a raise. PERFECT.
Legendary sequel. The creases in his arm are because hes mimicking the clothing.
Robert Patrick also trained himself not to blink/flinch when he shot his gun because he figured a terminator wouldn't do that.
another Arnold movie i love is the running man, no robots there
Fun fact: Robert Patrick practiced not blinking while shooting a gun, so when you see him shooting a gun he doesn’t blink not even once
@13:29 the T-1000 was such an amazing civil servant. Those two vehicles crashed into each other just before he arrived at the intersection, and to make room so there isn’t a traffic jam, he moved the vehicles out of the way. That officer deserves a promotion
Edit: the poor guard that was kneecapped was still lying on the ground in pain when they escaped.

33 year old movie and special effects don’t look out of place today
