Yup, I had transferred around to a few states, never spending more that 4-7 years in one position. In late 1987 I transferred to where I still live today. A lot has happened to me since 1989, some good and some not so good. We accumulate scars in life and for every door we go through several shut behind us.

I’m 22, I take comments like that last statement very seriously. While I spend too much time watching things like this, when I’m not I’m playing guitar for my church or enraptured by my home music studio I’m studying feverishly the mechanisms that will enable me to take full advantage of what you said.

@ 3:54 you can hear Johnny roar out in complete laughter at Steve’s joke fully leading Johnny and Johnny falling into it with both feet. Steve is a complete expert in this. He did it on one of his first appearances and after Steve yelled “Well... exxxxcuuuseeee meeeee...” The camera shot Johnny turning in his chair rolling in laughter.
That my friends is comedy gold right there.
And Johnny did get a line in on Steve when he said two g’s and Steve snorted a laugh.
Johnny was the perfect host where he would let the comedians roll with it, and let them soar or bomb.
    I miss Johnny... and Ed.

I don’t think I have a best film by Steve, although one of my favourites is Dead Men wear Plaid. Just the editing is top notch. Roxanne is incredible. The whole Dart Board insults routine was completely adlibbed. The Jerk was from one of his routines which he highlighted in his book 📖 Born Standing up. Just simply outstanding.

He wasn't very good at improv… when he said he was thinking of putting "eggish", (a pre-conceived line, just as the entire diary skit was) he should have joked that the 2 g's ALSO fit in Eggish!! 😂
I would have done that, but then I am 99% improv. I usually stumble when I try to narrate a pre-existing line or joke

Real comedy back then. Can't watch late night in 2020. Garbage

Steve was great. Johnny seemed sluggish.
