Hey so I bought a rode podcaster usb microphone, from what I know all I have to do is connect the usb to my pc and it should work but for some reason it is not picking up any audio, I already selected it as my default mic but it is still not working. Do you know what I should do?
It might be working. It defaults to the output being through the mic so change the speaker settings in your computer to the computer speakers or plug in headphones to the back of the mic.
Hey, I just got my SECOND podmic usb and both of them just catches static. This second can record a little audio but it's ultra low and with static still present. Do you know how to make it work? 😞
I bought my first yesteday and had that exact issue. Pc would detect the mic and I could firmware update it and factory reset it and so on, but all I got was that low noise hiss.... no sound recording at all. Wrote to Rode after having tried to find errors etc. Tried 4 cables, bought a really expensive cable (10gbps) that is better than the one included with the mic, different devices etc. Nothing worked. So went to the retailer today, explained the case and told them Rode themselves had replied they think it sounds like the mic is faulty and I should have a replacement. They gave me a new one on the spot. Just came home... plugged in. I did not install ANY Rode software, nor upgraded the firmware and it bloody works out of the box.
@@StreamGearTalk I did exactly what you did in the video! I downloaded rode connect and plugged in my mic and it reads the mic but no audio is getting picked up. I tried a different USB port. Still nothing just static. The LED light is green. I hit record on rode connect and nothing happens. I’ve had another USB mic that I use every week that’s worked perfectly fine the past year.
I started using my podmic usb right out the box, plug n play, no processing. I got it for streaming and i use it for discord. On discord my voice gets cut off a lot any possible solutions to that before I go and mess with settings?
I just tried these settings and honestly so far, I'm liking it. Thank you for sharing with us this tutorial.
you explained it really simple. I needed this fore days. Thank you!
Awesome Video , would you recommend the same DSP settings for recording Hip-Hop Vocals ?

can I control Rode PodMic USB with Stream deck plus using wave link?
Yes!
This software does not work when you run a beacn create tho least not that Iv found
My pod mic only does static. Not sure how to fix
How do you have it plugged in? Have you tried a different port or cable if using via USB? Is your gain set high? Tell me more I can try lol

I wish lol I replied tonyour comment on my eq video I just posted, what's up?
@@StreamGearTalk yea I reply back threw that eq vod
Getting this mic to work with discord, and in game mic inputs is a bit weird. wtf is stream input vs, desktop input, vs system input vs virtual input.
Rodes USB/XLR plus Wave XLR Plus beacn Mix create what you do in this setup to get more then 7% volume out of windows when its set to 100%
I don’t know how to get the mic to be recording my voice louder it’s just really quiet and I can’t here a thing when I’m recording
Are you using it via USB or XLR?
@@StreamGearTalk I got this same problem I’m using usb c to usb c
Which mic arm are you using?
Can you just use the Rode Pod Mic XLR directly into the wave XLR and use wave link?
There no way just rodes software will make it sound as good as you’re

Discord has funky settings and sometimes you gotta turn off one that basically automatically sets the gain and sensitivity. That might be the issue
Hello
hey! is there a way to turn off direct monitoring in rode connect? I really don't need it when i'm gaming or talking to my friends in discord
Theres a button on the mic meter in connect, the ear icon "listen" i believe thats the one youre looking for.
what do you mean by "appropriate hardware to give me access to wave link"?
You can only get wavelink if you have either one of the following, wave mic, streamdeck plus, or wave xlr. Also #freepalestine !
@@StreamGearTalk I'm gonna subscribe to your channel from all my Gmail accounts(+10) 😂♥️♥️ 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
Great video! What camera are you using?
I'm using the Canon m50 camera and the boom arm is the elgato low-profile arm
@@StreamGearTalk Thank you!
