Hi Ellie, was lovely to meet you friday morning! I am now following you to make sure you havent frozen to death! If you need some scottish support or a place to stay please give me a shout. Jennifer
Omg hey Jennifer! It was so lovely to meet you and you really did inspire me! Haha I nearly froze the night after but thankfully it’s not as bad tonight 😊 and thank you that’s really kind of you! Hope you had a lovely hike and weekend ❤️
Chemical toilet, power station and heated under blanket. And a new mattress of course. Or just buy a big van and live in comfort but struggle to park anywhere. The big van is still better, trust me, I did what you are doing for 5 years. Getting a van was the best decision ever. I really don’t know how I managed in a car. It wasn’t full time but pretty much every weekend and quite a few 2/3 week trips. I didn’t have a power station until earlier this year (before the van), but always managed cold nights using my trustee decathlon down sleeping bag. Throw in 2 hand warmers and it was toastie all night. Now I sleep in a double bed with memory foam top and under blanket heater with a normal duvet. Diesel heater so I can leave the roof vent open all night. Complete game changer.
Another superb video ellie, it's so nice to be able to follow you and your journey around Scotland and through your life so thank you for allowing us all into your life and on your wonderful journeys. On a side note you look fantastic in your xmas top and I'm glad you managed to get a room when you did so you could rest your back and use the facilities in comfort and warmth ❤
Aw thank you Stephen! Haha i loveee this Xmas jumper I need to get another one but a funny one 😂 yeah the hotel was absolutely brilliant and I was so glad to have it! And thank you for being here too ❤️
If your looking for places rarely traveled to or generally good, have a look at Plodda Falls, Dog falls/Glen affric, Rogie falls, the walk up to the Fyrish Monument, Or further north, sandwood bay, Strathy beach or the world's smallest castle (Hermit's Castle) at Achmelvich. Just keep safe if the ice and snow returns
These all sound lovely Tom thank you so much for the recommendations. I’ve seemed to avoid the bad weather so far it’s really weird lol. Most I’ve had to contend with is rain and the cold 💕
Hi Ellie , been following your since your last trip to Scotland which is my favourite place in the world, please think about getting yourself a camper van with a heater in not sleeping in the car, take care 🥶
It is getting colder tonight in the Cairngorms but I’m wrapped up in a blanket outside replying to comments and stretching my legs 🤣 I’d absolutely love another camper when I can mainly because of how cramped it is now ❤️
@EleanorGraceDiaries I've never been to Scotland at all. My main haunts are lake district, south Wales and I used to visit Woolacombe about 4 times a year as North Devon is my all time favourite area
If you're going to sleep out in your car you need to get a proper sleeping bag good for about -20°C, you won't stay warm otherwise, even layering won't keep you warm, you should also get some ventilation in there to stop condensation, cold is good way to find out where your limits are too! Scotland is beautifully brutal in the winter, more please!
Heya 😊 I’ve been sleeping in the car for years but this is the coldest it’s ever been for me. I normally have a thick mattress in there but it took up too much room for this trip. I crack a window slightly to help with ventilation but only when it’s not this cold. Haha I agree the cold tests you and your limits. And yeah will definitely be more to come 😊💕
Yay, it’s an Ellie-athon this evening lol! Looking festive, love the Christmas jumper, also love that you said the view was going to get the waterworks going again then spent a load of time racing around looking for a loo! (Just me making that connection?) 😂 the turn around from disaster with everything falling over in the back of Stitch to the joy of finding the marshmallows was hilarious! The snow falling was so pretty, glad you’re having an amazing time Ellie xx ❤️
Absolutely stunning Ellie nice sweater also lovely scenery we don't get down south because of too many cars?? Idk it gets warmer somehow down here keep warm and safe Ellie ❤❤
Hi Ellie, your travels to Scotland look beautiful but it’s too cold to stay in Stitch. So glad you booked a room to shower, sleep & warm up!! Please take care , be careful! Hugs 💜
I was freezing in my van the other night in Scotland and in Wales!! - Just got home for a week and swapped it out for a new one and walla' it works! Great videos. Thanks for the great content!
It really has been freezing. It’s a lot more bearable tonight where I am but a couple of last min premier inns have helped so much too. Hope you had an amazing time on your travels Thomas despite the cold ❤️
@@EleanorGraceDiaries Good shout on the premier inn! (least it's not a travel dodge) - It's normal to feel lonely, i'm aloner like 95% of the time lol also jelous you went to Disney!! I need to go! x
heyyyyyyyyyyyyy ellie twice in one day for me!!!.....looking very xmasssssssyyyyy!!! and so so beautiful with the snow on the hills and keep smiling :)
Travelling definitely has it's challenges. I'm on the road travelling long distance a lot for work & have a sleeping bag in the works van. The things you take for granted at home like a warm bed & bathroom. lol I'm with you on Glencoe. I love travelling through the Glen despite history not being good to us Macdonald's there.lol Safe travels. xx 😊
You really do realise you take things for granted lol. There’s something about Glencoe that makes you feel like you’re in a fantasy movie. I keep expecting a dragon to fly out from behind the mountains 🤣❤️
evening Ellie hope your enjoying the Scottish weather and snow drive carefully and stay safe Simon xxx Scotland is beautiful all year round wrap up warm at night it can drop to minus minus xxx
I only slept-lived in my car for a whole month, I did sometimes slept 1-2 nights, but usually not longer than that. I used to more wild camped than sleeping in a car. I am hoping to be begin savings money and eventually purchase a van and either prepare it myself to live a nice life in it or buy already made one. Life may change in a very short time so no idea if it will work to achieve but it kind of makes me interested in such life, or at least spend a lot of time in a van, though wild camping outdoors is amazing.
That sounds really good! I know what you mean about getting a van. It’s something I’d absolutely love to try again when I can afford my own. Stitch is great but it’s getting very cramped haha. Buying a van and living it in full time would be amazing if you can do it 😄❤️
Those Costa sticks would of been the one if soaked in water (prevents them from burning)..Scotland is Such a great place and very dear to my heart..Have Fun / Be Happy and Stay Safe..✌🏻
Loved the marshmallows….for those thin sticks, soak them in water (or leave them out in the rain) and they will last longer….such beautiful scenery. Thank you for inviting us along!
Stayed in that hotel a few years ago on on one of my many visits to Fort William / Glencoe. Think I was about £120 for the night. Always be prepared pal; like mentioned in your Ben Nevis vids!!!. I'm born, bred and live in (NE) Scotland and I wouldn't do what you do; I like my comforts / warmth too much!!!
I got it for £88 that night for the plus room so was really chuffed it was cheaper than normal. Such a lovely premier inn and the location is fab being so close to everything needed 😊❤️
The views are spectacular to say the least, I can see why you went back. Glad you were able to find a hotel and avoid freezing in the car. I'm 6 foot 1 so sleeping in the car would be very uncomfortable. Forgotten how much I love marshmallows in winter, though I usually only have them with hot chocolate. The snowy hills would be perfect for photos with Lord of the Rings action figures.
Deep heat has capsicum in it. Gives back pain relief and also the illusion you are warm. I have a generous amount on now, my back is on fire. Home heating is off 😂😅
@EleanorGraceDiaries the patches don't stick well, the tube is best value, they also have a roll on, handy but costs more. I use my empty roll one to spread tube cream :> Remember only the illusion you're on fire and warm... Not actually warm 😂 but yeh let us know how you get on. Brambles adhesive body warmers are amazing. It's iron shavings that rust rapidly, generating heat. No chemicals. Lasts 10 hours easy. Cheap
Glencoe is stunning. Spent just a day there this summer during my camp/hike. It would be amazing to see the Glenfinnan viaduct in the snowy weather! I do hope you go there and get to film it snow covered. Loch Sheil there is also stunning. That will be a calendar photo with the mountains there snow covered. (Love the red jumper!). Very jealous I'm not there with all the snow. Enjoy the rest of your trip! 😊❤
Aw I would have loved to have seen the Viaduct in the snow 😍 when I got there it was just full of ice and no snow lol. Could see it in the background of the car park and was tempted ❤️
May see you on the 🛣️ Ellie. In my van, stealth camping. Going to ride over glen Ogle viaduct on my E bike. Then Glencoe, fort William, loch Ness, Inverness and where ever the road takes me, in the Highlands in my van for this week. 👍 Drive the glen etive road. Location of Skyfall 007. I have steath camped there, amazing scenery.
@@EleanorGraceDiaries haha all clean and fresh ready for next video 🤣😂 For someone from South Yorkshire I do like your Devonian accent I have had connections and have met friends from radio stations for Cornwall which shared with Devon sometimes. One person who you do sound very much like and sadly he is no longer with us and has left us at a very young age and that is Gordon Sparks who was a local Plymouth man.
Thankfully I never liked Harry Potter, but it would impossible now Ellie with Rowling saying everything she has about trans people and me being trans...
Loving your videos and glad to see you have a similar reaction to me in Glencoe. It’s the place to feed your soul. Keep the videos coming. Stay safe Andy
Hello from lovely Scotland 🏴😊 Getting these uploaded when I can so next one will be on Sunday ❤️

4:41 the bridge has been years before that film, probably at least 100 years
Yeah it’s crazy how it’s only known as the ‘Harry Potter Bridge’ now 😂
