Another thing you should perhaps emphasise, is under no circumstances should people use the gas stoves in an unventilated vehicle, and you MUST not go to sleep with a stove or any gas appliance still lit inside the car. Apart from the obvious fire risk, the risk.of carbon monoxide poisoning is very high.

Yes but your buying a van soon right? Just buy a cheaper old one 1st to find what you need dont do what I did and buy a big expensive van that I can't sell now because I've modded it so much no one will buy it.

Very useful information, have you considered a roof box to store extra storage ?

My mobile phone allows me to call the emergency services with my location with 5 discrete pushes of the on and off switch. They can secretly listen in. It'll also sound an alarm. (If you want) It'll also automatically start the camera. Of course if you were able to stay in a supermarket carpark overnight, what with the amount of CCTV available? Stay safe! And warm. Treat yourself to another water bottle! ❤

When I was escorting oversized loads around Australia, I never needed a toilet. We mostly parked near facilities. I once did get caught in the middle of South Australia. Best I could do was find a bush and do my thing and let mother nature bio-degrade everything. Unfortunately in the darkness I had wandered onto someones front yard, I later discovered as the sun rose and preparing to leave. Needless to say, we left a little quicker that morning. I also got sprung by a kangaroo staring at me from 2 m away in the middle of the night. Not far out of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. As I mentioned before, I recently bought myself an all wheel drive wagon, big enough to stretch out in and just right for one or two nights out. I’m going to use my old deep cycle battery that I don’t use now I have lithium in the ambulance. That will be enough to keep my 15 L fridge running, as well as a laptop. For the laptop I use a 90 W inverter specially built for that purpose. It just plugs into a lighter socket. I also have a portable solar panel to put out when parked up. Apart from those things I will be travelling light. There will be enough room for 2 to travel but you would want to be dating. So, in the off chance, I will just have two sets of cutlery, etc. I have some thick insulation that I will use for window blackouts when needed. The sun can be brutal in the morning. All your tips are great, especially the ones regarding female hygiene. We had another 40° day yesterday, and next week we are looking at another two. Anyway, I’m a bit confused as to which channels you are posting on but All your channels pop up when you post something. I’m looking forward to your next adventure, and this year, I’m planning to get out a little more often, especially those short trips. 100% on the posture topic. I built a platform in the back of my CRV and hit the road without even trying it out. I went two days sleeping on it then found a dumpster to get rid of it along with the cheap mattress that I had. I will take your advice and find an orthopedic mattress. Love your videos and your sense of humor and I love the beauty of Great Britain.

I don't know if they are available or legal in the UK, but Byrna is a non-lethal self-protection option here in the USA. Hopefully, you can get something like that if you don't already have it.Safe travels.

Great video Ellie. I’m doing my first camp out in my Freelander 2 in a couple of weeks. One thing around the posture problems you mentioned that might help which I am have to do as I am 6’3” is if you are going for longer stays, you can easily unbolt the rear seat bottoms and remove them. This means the seat backs lay completely flat and you don’t lose your storage space behind your front seats like you do if you tip the seat bottoms up. Hope this helps.
