Even if there was no dev power up in that bean burrito level, i think you could still cheese it by hitting blocks and returning at the beginning to dispawn the munchers.
That could almost be the intended strategy - having to go back and then return would be a clever way to extend the beam burrito portion without using more space.

You could’ve off-screened the munchers from the hidden blocks, and then jumped from atop the bocks, through the gap in the spikes.
I love that you went into the New Courses tab, because I've been utilizing that tab for a long time now, and haven't seen TH-camrs/streamers use it for uncleared stuff. Now I might have some extra competition grabbing those first clears from all the people you reminded about that tab lol
Title Screen's are the worse. They are just reused/recycled templates that aren't edited. At least bad levels show differences.

I really enjoyed this episode, great TH-cam exclusive content as usual! I like the idea of peppering in brand new levels in the future. I'm also very surprised how many first clears you still managed to get. I figured the competition would be fierce! And the bald CEO creator must be so pleased.
I play new courses often. I can usually first-clear two or three before I reach a level that's already been cleared. So many levels are uploaded at once, the competition is spread thin.

@@erika_fuzzbottom Dave himself said it when he announced the Mariothon. I'm actually very frustrated with that though. He built up all this hype and then ruined it when he stopped posting recap episodes and we get random bits and pieces. He even replied to my comment where I was saying please make sure everything ends up on TH-cam properly saying he would. It probably just takes up too much of his time, but that doesn't mean somebody else couldn't edit the videos for him and he just records the beginning and ending.
@@erika_fuzzbottom I actually never really played MM2. I've seen Dave play a lot more than I played myself. I didn't even finish the single-player mode. I got it during a time of my life that I didn't have a lot of time to play games, and I just haven't gone back.

There was an easy way to beat that second bald level. Just activate the munchers, then go back and off screen them. Then you can go back and jump off the kaizo blocks.

Legit these levels are all so unique though. And that auto play one at 9:22, it's amazing in the sense that it's brimming with creativity lol.
It really depends on the level. A title screen level can really be good if done right. The same goes for bad levels

i prefer title screen levels cuz since we see them often, they're fast to finish. if it's really a bad level, it's easily annoying and hard to find the way out

5:20 I checked in the level viewer, and not only is the other side of that second pipe absolutely not reachable, but you can also just run off the edge at the door once the lava retreats and reach the end just as easily.

I think the bean burrito 69 level you were supposed to hit the blocks, then do a round trip back to the beginning to offscreen the munchers. This would qualify its beanliness. Its burritocracy, if you will.

I'd say that when choosing between a bad level and a title screen level, I would choose the bad level. At least the bad level is gonna be laughable, maybe I'll even find some enjoyment in it. When I see a titlescreen level, I immediatly know it's gonna be a little on the boring side and won't have anything special about it.

I'd rather play a title screen level than a level designed to be bad. Bad levels are good for watching others play them because they can be funny, but if you're doing it alone with no one watching I don't see the point

can I say both? because my answer is: a, the bad level has a star in them to make the bad level more fun, and b, the title screen level is simple and easy, Dave hates title screen levels because they're easy and prefers more of a challenge

As for the question of the day, I'd rather play a title screen level than a bad level. I know I can beat title screen levels. Unless it's a bad title screen level. I've encountered at least one of those. Worse, it was a bad troll level.

I wish Dave wouldn't boo levels with a completely honest title. Like, you're told exactly what you're signing up for... why does the creator deserve a boo for that?
Levels that are unique yet bad will always best a lack of originality.
That is not to say using official levels for inspiration is a bad thing but if someone uploads an unchanged 1-1, for example, then they deserve a/ a lot of Boos or b/ for their 'creation' to be ignored.

DGR, why have I never seen you join any GDQ events. Are you not being invited or you just don't want to participate? Just curious.
I believe he's done some in the past, but nowadays he wants to stick closer to his family. Honestly, that's probably why TH-cam seems to feel like the back burner sometimes, because it's easier to let somebody edit your streams to post content and enjoy the time with your family. But at least we get an episode like this once a week!
