Hello and welcome to another episode of the TROLLED series! The series where we are showing that it can be a lot of fun to look like an idiot! The level that's making me look like an idiot today is called "Try Not To Laugh" made by DJMariuzzo!

This challenge is impossible for Dave, he loves it when he sees a troll and figures out what happened. Even the most torturous troll level makes him smile, at least in the beginning. xD

Y'know what else is counterintuitive? Drifting. Wise old Doc Hudson from Cars famously said "Turn right to go left." McQueen didn't believe it at first either until he had a better handle of the situation.

I wonder if the "GUTS?" section would've worked differently had you not hesitated long enough for the Thwomp to fall off the track below. Like if it triggered something that changed how the next room functioned.

Correct me if I'm wrong but every time you hit restart the level, that should have reset your points to zero...so technically until checkpoint you can always reset your point total from smiling and laughing to zero by selecting restart rather then simply just dying over and over.
You can also laugh like a fool when you get to 10 points just to reset counter before you get to somewhere far, so you don't end up like Dave. Or just ignore counting points altogether, if you want to look for loopholes for fun challenge.

I find it strange this level is called 'try not to laugh.' It's not like there's anything in this that's more comedic than any other troll level. You don't have Eddie Izzard in the corner doing some classic stand-up.

I totally ignore the rules of try not to laugh challenges. I think it's stupid to watch something funny while trying to be serious instead of just enjoying it and laugh at what amuses you.
Edit: Watching Dave restart when he failed didn't really add anything valuable to the video for me, more so detracted from it.

I made a Troll level for you. I never made a troll level before and it's kinda easy, but I hope you still give it a try and enjoy it. I would be honored. The level code is: 5T2-177-KDG
ID: DCR-F5H-RJG I created a Super World in Mario Maker 2, theme Zelda. Hugely inspired by Zelda 2 Adventure of Link and the old shcool level desing of the NES. Has 8 worlds, 35 levels and unique dungeons at the end of each world, a progressive difficulty which increases with each new world (not easy but not kaizo either, from normal-expert). Gameplay focused on Link and his abilities, favor exploration and combat, losing your sword makes you very vulnerable. Each world has its theme and its gimmicks, there are plenty of secrets and references to Zelda. A complete Zelda game in Mario!
For Players: Don't fear loosing your sword, you can complete levels without it and one will be waiting for your at the end of each levels (exept for 3, but they are quite short, 2 Villages and a Special Encouter) So feel free to take your time and clear your path of any threat if you feel unsafe! + They has swords in key place (safe rooms) and near specific puzzles too.

Both Dave and Carl (who ignored the rules altogether) thought they weren't supposed to laugh or smile, but the level has sound effects that cost points, too. The baby face counts as a smile, and the audience laughter sound counts as laughter.

To be fair, the description implies the player laughing or smiling, not specifying and bringing attention to the in-game effects.

Unfortunately, you exceeded 15 points at or around the 12:50 mark, even if I took off the point where you covered your face in an effort to not show smiling, because your laughter here and the smile after would've been 14 to 16, and then 17, or even 13 to 15, and then 16 if I also took off a 'I'm trying not to smile, but I'm still smiling.' face, which I won't. By the time you said 'One more laugh and I gotta restart', you were at an 18. By the time you were softlocked at 28:00, you hit 31, as well. Sorry, Dave. The camera sees and hears all, and you were due to voluntarily without softlock reset twice. 😁
