原始神母の今年の第１弾は、昨年やる予定でできなかった『原子心母 / Atom Heart Mother』トリビュート。
1970年発表のピンク・フロイドの4thアルバム『原子心母 / Atom Heart Mother』は、日本では初来日(1971年)の時点の最新アルバムということで、日本のフロイドファン第１世代の人たちにとっては特に親しみのあるアルバムだと思う。
アルバムのタイトル曲でもある、１曲目の「Atom Heart Mother」は当時のLPレコードではA面全部の大曲だが、自分にとってもフロイドのリビュートをやりたいと思ったきっかけの一つはこの曲だった。フロイドのメンバー４人の独自な発想と演奏にプラス前衛音楽家のロン・ギーシンにアレンジを依頼し、大人数のコーラス、ブラス隊、チェロを使った、一つの巨大で幻想的な音の体験。
曲のセクションが変わっていくごとに、次々と現れる魔の世界。ギタリストの自分にとっての驚きは前半に出てくる非常にこもったスライドギターのプレイ。その音は衝撃だった。エレキギターとしてはもっとも地味な音を巨大に、魅惑的に表現するその感性には本当にびっくりしたし、その音を理解した瞬間に新たな表現の可能性の領域が自分の中で広がったと感じた。もう一つは後半に出てくるブルースギターのソロ。それはまるで、吸血鬼が空っぽの館でブルースを弾いているような不思議なブルースだ。それまでのフロイドでは意図的に避けてきたブルースギターをブルースとは全く違う領域で鳴らしたことはのちの『狂気』や『炎』などへとつながり、ピンクフロイド、ギタリストとしてのギルモアの可能性を大きく変えたと思う。そして何よりも素晴らしいのは５分近く続くコーラスパート。やっぱりこれも吸血鬼のイメージがする。その他にもブラスの大胆なアレンジや効果音、グルーヴィーでアバンギャルドなコーラスパート。どこを取っても異世界であるフロイドの音楽の中でももっとも異世界であり、なおかつ素直に感動的な印象が残る素晴らしい曲なのだ。原始神母は第１回目のライヴからこの曲を演奏してきたが、今回は50周年ということで、コーラス、ブラス隊、チェロのミュージシャンなどを招いて、初めてフルバージョンで演奏する予定です。
そしてB面の美しく、小さな曲の数々も含めて、50周年ということでの全曲再現。この貴重な機会を大好きな人も、まだ知らない人もぜひ体験してください。

I lost a good friend named Paul who grew up in that era loving Pink Floyd and I haven't dared watch or listen to anything that would remind me of him until I found this wonderful rendition of Atom Heart Mother. Im sitting here tears flowing from my eyes and in awe and with tingling spine and legs. The band are wonderful musicians and obviously love every second. What can i say about the beautful singers? たまたま寄ったレコード店そこで外国の方が牛のジャケットのレコードを手に何事か会話に弾んでいたのを今もこの曲を聴くと鮮明に思い出します。１９７２年春の事でした。当時ピンクフロイドも原子心母も知っていたのかどうか記憶はありませんがそのレコードは買っていました。それ以降発売のレコードとCDは全て購入しています。

川崎がsoldoutだったので昨夜神戸まで伺いました。行って良かったです。今のバンドNegative Selectionのリーダー（京都在住）と２人で行きました。彼はAHMが最高に良かったと言っていました。私は神秘は震えました。１９８８年以降のコンサートではPFはこれをほとんど演奏していません。Cymbalineも大好きな曲で昔よく演奏していました。Dark Side of The MoonはMoneyを除いて全曲やってました。また行きます！

素晴らしい。私も学生時代はDarksideというピンクフロイドのコピーバンドで多くの曲（Dark side of the moon、Meddle、Animals、Wish you were hereなどから）をコピーしましたが、Atom heart Motherをコピーするのは凄いです！感銘を受けました。コンサートされるなら是非伺います。
次回は10月に行われますよ。

川崎がsoldoutだったので昨夜神戸まで伺いました。行って良かったです。今のバンドNegative Selectionのリーダー（京都在住）と２人で行きました。彼はAHMが最高に良かったと言っていました。私は神秘は震えました。１９８８年以降のコンサートではPFはこれをほとんど演奏していません。Cymbalineも大好きな曲で昔よく演奏していました。Dark Side of The MoonはMoneyを除いて全曲やってました。また行きます！

Great Band. Very tight. I love the guitar player - he's so close to the original feel. Even the drummer's got it. What a task to do the choir section with only 2 or 3 voices! Maybe not perfect... but as it gave me goosebumps in the final section... yes, it is perfect!

I love the music, but have to admit I still have a small problem with 15:00 long songs. No matter how great it is(and this is) my mind starts to wander about half way through. Still, a really, really great job with a classic. I know its cliché to say, but music truly is a universal language! :)

How wonderful to see these people engaging the spirit of early Pink Floyd. Its a pity that Roger Waters turned his back on his best work in order to gain a wider audience. Th e music lives through these wonderful Japanese musicians
He did "If" on the KAOS tour, more recently One of These Days, Fearless, Set The Controls for the Heart Of The Sun, and One Of These Days, David Gilmour performed Atom Heart Mother live in 2008, Fat Old Sun, Wots Uh... The Deal, and Nick Mason covers all the early stuff with his Saucerful Of Secrets band.

GREAT rough version...
I have been a Pink Floyd fan for many years and I have to say that Genshi Shinbo bring justice to the 'Atom' , 'Umma' & all of the "obscure" but beautifully orchestrated sets that only true fans know are the essence and backbone of The Pink Floyd ... outstanding
Bravo! Beautiful ! The whole group did a fantastic job: drums, guitars, keyboards, mini choir. They all played and sang with emotion and the different sections of the song flowed so smoothly one into the other. Those two women singers have angelic voices
The group actually improved on the original by dropping that incredibly annoying noisy section Mind Your Throats Please. The finale was inspiring. Wish I had been there in person
