I’m glad you had the presence of mind and thought a head to wear your protective face shield and draped that material over your arms and your clothing before applying the clear nail polish. I’ve seen guys do it with no shield and no protective clothing while applying the clear nail polish and by the end of the shifts they walked out of the shop wearing dresses. It can easily happen if you don’t protect yourself. The stack braces look really nice and with the chrome pipes in place it’s over the top. Can hardly wait till you turn the key and that kitty Kat sits up and starts to roar. Nice video FSC, have a great and a safe day…

Weld a washer in the broken off stud, then weld a nut on it. Many repairmen do this, they say it gives more area to weld the nut on, and also gets more heat down into the broken bolt.
Orwell is going to look great with those stacks! You did and awesome job on them, can't wait to hear how well they sound. You do an amazing job keeping Orwell in good shape, thanks for sharing everything with us. You have and outstanding work ethic!
If you can get a torch in by the broken bolt, heat it up and douse it with a candle. The wax will flow in the threads and it will turn out.

Lay a straight edge across the top of the frame rails, hook the tape on the stack and measure down
I use the clear nail polish to seal window tint at the top to keep it from ever coming loose there's several little tricks for it's use but keep at it Steve and keep the video's coming

Flanged bolt is what your looking for with the made on washer any hardware store are bolt store should have them. them stacks look good hopefully she fits out the door
Those mechanical locking nuts are known in Australia as Cone Locking nuts. Common on parts that are exposed to high heat, such as turbochargers, exhaust manifolds etc. to avoid them becoming loose over time.
Oh, yeah, you have to be really, really careful with that acrylic nail polish. My wife won't even allow a bottle of the stuff in the house, she has to go to a nail specialist shop to have any applied. Really dangerous stuff and next time, consider a full hazmat suit. 😁 😂 😂

I know some train trustles in NH that are 12 feet or less to go under. In suburbs the electric lines are lower than 13 feet.
There right clear polish, wrks great even using it old school HARLEY D. I used it may times on my chrome

The nail polish does work. Its basically a cheap and easy single stage clear coat to protect the metal. I've used it before with good success.

I use clear nail polish when I replace an eye on my fishing rod. Keeps the string on the rod and its waterproof. Should work great on your stacks.

You really don't need the lock washer with that style nut. The only thing the lock washer does is dig in to the surface so the nut can't back off. Great job looks good.

Now you have water filling straight pipes that needs buckets when parked raining ….should have put curved out top stacks on or get some chrome flappers ….and please polish Orwell up some and get some paint on rims or get new polished alcoas ☝️💪👊😆….that thing would look sweet all buffed out including the paint

Most guys don't realize how many items in the beauty section come in handy at a shop. Other items include hair spray to lube the inside of motorcycle grips, they will slide right on and a bit later the are glued and won't slip, compacts have a lot better mirror and some are magnifying and are great inspection mirrors and with the hinge will usually stay in place while freeing up the hands to work in a tight place. The clear nail polish is also a great loctite for screws that like to work loose on eye glasses.
