Praying for the gentry's and y'all that's there helping.Watched his video and his dad's face I couldn't take it broke down cried like a baby sad so so sad. God bless ya brother 🙏
I must say FSC your videos are like none other. If there is two words I can use to describe you and your trucking company is your what they call old school. You don’t park your truck and put your panties on and go home and leave a note with dispatch. You do most of all the repairs yourself. You know your truck front to back top to bottom. You have my respect FSC. Like I said no other videos are like yours. Your what I wanted to be years back when I first got in trucking. Never became an O/O but wanted to be so badly. Chrome don’t make ya money, you do. The more you do the more money stays in your pocket. Any who FSC great video, have a great and a safe day, happy trails and happy motoring..
My pop had me change the air dryer on his K-100; easy peasy for my as I was 17, 6'8" with arms like spaghetti. Six weeks later the transmission fell out of it in Echo Canyon, Utah. YIKES!!🤨😖🤪
Great job showing and telling, just got my phone back on last night seen the video of gentry’s.truck shop burnt down, and yes that was every sad to see. and I was just there around December the 15 talking to Tim he was working on the red truck doing the motor on top. well Steve have a good one see ya next time see ya bye.
Love the story on the PTFE (Teflon) tape Steve, a guy I worked with went to the company store for a roll of PTFE, storeman wanted to just give him a short length of a standard roll. Just a thought on the Cab lift hydraulics, could a synthetic fluid be used instead, obviously need to check O-rings and seal compatibility. Great new shop, well earned 👏. Thanks for sharing
Enjoy your videos! This reminds me of helping my Dad. Every time he was home, had to fix something on his 1986 362! I miss him and riding shotgun with him listening to rock and roll while he had country on his radio. The tractor had 2 stereos!
Steve, When I was off over the holidays, I turned on TH-cam and started watching a few videos to get caught up on your channel. My wife came in and started watching with me. She was really interested in your videos as well. It was pretty cool that she liked watching you as well. Good job on the videos, as always stay safe.
Nice of you to go down to gentry’s. Poor people. Yes change my air dryer every fall. Bendix ad 9. Just exchange for a rebuilt. The last one I got was rebuilt in Mexico. Better then china I guess. Never have any water in tanks. Pull same trailer Steve. Yes I work on my truck all the time to. I see you do all your own work or most. Most owner operators don’t even know how to grease or change there own oil. Take care steve. Great show. One of the best. In my opinion.
Best move you could make bro. Replacing that air drier will save you more than money in the future. Imagine changing that thing in a frozen mud puddle in Sheboygan in the middle of the night? That thought alone would make me change it twice. : )
Man Steve the liquid Teflon Tape in the tube work Sooooooo much better than the just the tape. If it's leaking or seeping than they have NO ideal what they are doing and shouldn't be working on anything. Don't use the brush type Teflon it's JUNK it will fail terrible BUT the Liquid Teflon in a Tube works amazing and seels great when it completely drys. You don't have to wait for it to dry all the way it seels as soon as you install it. Just work's better when it drys completely and you will never see any seepage around the fitting...
When it''s really really cold. I drip antifreeze through the air line and it get's ride of the frost in the air lines work's excellent. I avoid having to disconnect the air lines. I have a better lowboy with ramp's that raise's up and lowers down using air. And they work excellent.
A friend who has been trucking for 25 years changes the air dryer every fall, with a remanufactured unit. That way going from Winnipeg to Orlando, no issues, in the winter time.
Hey Steve whenever I put on a new gasket I always coat it with never seize.Especially if it’s one of those periodically changed out parts like the governor
I have watched this video several times and I think you may have installed a plug into the governor's exhaust port. The top port, closest to the colored adjustment cap, should be open with no plug. This port allows the plunger to move and exhaust excess air. I installed a governor on my 85 362 and matched plug for plug with the one I was replacing, huge mistake. It was later when I realized the person who installed the prior governor made a mistake.
I once worked for a guy part time in his shop as well as driving and he got some old FLD 120's in and every last one had to be brought into the shop and each air tank had to be drained manually and the air systems gone through it was a wonderful PITA.
Hell Yeah Steve Congratulations to your Dad on getting a New Tri Glide Harley Davidson. Your Dad is going to Love it My Dad has been riding on a Tri Glide four Six years. He's on His second 2018 Tri Glide. My Uncle also rides a Tri Glide He's been on His Five years and Loves it. There pretty DAMN fast if You get rid of the exhaust system and that stupid Cadillac Converter crossover pipe. And a stage One Kit Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner Kit and a Ignition Down Load and Exhaust System. That Bike will really Run that New 88 Motor is Amazing it's like comparing your Blockhead Motor too a Shovelhead same difference a New 88 Motor too a Blockhead Motor that's the difference. Your Dad is going to have So much Fun plus your Mom can ride and be comfortable. That's so cool You will be able to go riding with your Dad again Congratulations!!!
Good day Steve, blue cap on governor means non adjustable, black cap you can adjust air psi up or down. Maybe I'm wrong still think your purge valve was stuck and leaking air. Usually when it's pumping air out of the bottom of drier when compressor is working. Had luck some times just pushing on end of valve and it would start to build air. We changed our driiers out every year during our winterization. Just my 2 cents . Stay safe brother.
A job well done. You are right: budgeting for seasonal replacements vs. waiting to fix when broken makes good sense (and dollars and cents). (Hoping your help with the Gentries is going well.)
Hey Brother Steve l realize that your videos are behind so I was just wondering. Have you fixed the other side of your exhaust stack yet or you gonna wait until spring when it's warmer and not so darn cold outside. I realize that You have your heated work shop but I understand about working during the winter it sucks...
Nope, back then it was "Matterhorn White" They standardized to Caterpillar Yellow around the time "Orwell" was being built but it was still possible to get it as Matterhorn White.

I usually test light the heater circuit as well when replacing or rebuilding an AD-9 just to double check 👍

Change your cab lift pump to ATF at least it will work in cold weather.

How did you know how tight to tighten to bolts with the impact gun? Or did you just snug them up and then hand tighten?

Would it be a good idea to change out the cab Jack oil ?
Any updates on your Detroit diesel 12 cylinder engine?
FSC trucking, did you offer Tim Gentry your shop to share or use with you
Is that a Goldwing?
You don’t have to worry about any corrosion under your truck, from salt or Anything!😂😂
Did ya fix the fuel freezing up on ya
Did you give up? No new videos?
hows about praying for the kids not a guy that has insurance to pay for 70 percent of everything
If the air dryer was working and wasn’t that old, I would have just replaced the filter inside..but that’s just me...
They didn’t paint kitty cats yellow in 1984?
