Ive been running shadow Galv as my safe swap with Cross Poison + Energy Ball.
I have a grass lead and so many people are not expecting it. I’ve nuked so many Swamperts and quagsires in remix because of this.

I'd try Annihilape Licki Skarm. Simple, but extremely strong. Poliwrsth can be a substitute, and refreshing to run, considering a potential Scald nerf next season (Poliwrath means aba to Lanturn). Licki can also be replaced for Lanturn

I’ve used non shadow and shadow is probably better

This pokemon is great with either form. While the shadow has insane attack, the non shadow even with just a little bulk doesn't become shield dependent. Also, with Lunge attack drops, your more likely to survive moves.
