I liked her flow. I felt she kept it slow intentionally and emphasized her words to make it crystal clear. I felt her emotion in her verse. passion, triumph, frustration... Anyway, we've waited years for this and she did not disappoint!

Lauryn’s flow was amazing. Idk what y’all talking about. That was perfect for the beat. The point was not the flow, it was the message.

I was thinking the same thing. People want everyone to be in/on the same bubble using the same flow. Like Hov said "Do you nigga listen to rap or just skim through it?" She killed this and it was imperative that she rap with someone who also had substance. Big Ups to them both.

Her flow was impeccable and spot in! It was intentional and nuanced to accentuate her point and to set a tone to draw the listener in, every word and point articulated as she wanted it for a reason. They are way off base the scrutiny of her flow, he is dead wrong. Lauryn killed this shit and she’s always been a lyrical beast with that mic!

I also think it’s very important to the theme of the song that Ms.Hill was featured. The whole theme is about being a “nobody” and leaving society; something which Lauryn Hill already did . NAS is expressing his wishes to do what Lauryn did, and lauryn shares her experience of going ghost. Just my two cents.

Idk man, I’m not the biggest fan of Hit-Boy’s drums. I still kinda wish Nas can have some of the old school boom bap drums in his songs. Ms. Lauryn Hill sounds very mature now, there’s a certain melancholy in the tone of her voice. It’s not as dynamic as L Boogie from her Fugees day or smooth like in Miseducation. This sounds like a woman who has gone through and conquered the trauma and pain in her life. She sounds at peace but you can still hear the remnants of pain that she has certainly gone through in the past. It’s crazy to say this, but she really is an Elder Statesman now. Trust me fam ain’t nothing better than some fire trees your coffee and a sunrise or a cold beer with a sunset. The hood is missing the connection with our planet. The instrumental alone is classic hip-hop. You could hear Pete Rock, J-Dilla, or Hi-Tek making something that smooth.
The dichotomy of U.S. and the World in Nas verse is nice. That kind of perspective, the deep reflective approach is classic Nas.
Of course, Boogie shut it down. Being out of the public eye BY CHOICE was what Lauryn wanted, her prerogatives and agendas are different than everyone else's. She also took time to address some long time criticisms, too.

That’s dismantling systems of oppression and shifting the narrative. All of that has always been needed, then and now. Like you said, she was woke before woke was a commodified thing.

I love the subtle shuffle on the beat. Like it sounds like a straight 8 beat but the hats are actually a little syncopated.
