    Excellent video series!! I played craps for only the second time ever in Reno recently and accidentally did what you advised in this video. I only had a $100 bankroll to start with. Over the course of the first half hour or so, I bet only Pass bets and had only $50 left. Then one of the more experienced players standing near me recommended doing the pass odds bets. After some luck with those bets, I then started making place bets. At no time did I have more than two numbers I was working, and mostly it was the 6 or 8 points. End result after another 90 minutes of play was I walked away from the table with $382 and this after tipping the new $100 that I started with. I realized that it was entirely luck the the table was hot and that I had found a way to make a steady grind riding that wave. It could've gone the other just was easily but I was happy.

    I've struggled to learn the game for a long ass time, but for some reason I think it clicked tonight. I thought about how this game may have been created. You're playing around with some dice and roll a number. Then, your buddy says I bet you can't do that again. Another guy says I bet you roll # instead ... and so on.
    The pass or don't pass part trips me up still, I think. If I'm understanding it correctly, betting on pass just means you are betting the roller is going to establish a legitimate point and not crap out - i.e. anything besides 2, 3, 12 ... BUT, if it's 7 or 11, you win immediately (kinda like a blackjack). "Don't pass" is betting ON 2, 3, or 12 on the opening roll. But, once a point is established, 7 or 11 becomes the "bad guys" so you're betting that you're going to hit that point again, or some other combination BESIDES 7 or 11 (where don't pass would win).
    Is this correct???

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're close but not quite. So think of each of the bets as a 2 part wager. If you bet on the pass line part 1 is when no point as been established so if you walk up to an empty table with no one playing and make a pass line bet this is where it will start. 7 or 11 you win, 2, 3 or 12 you lose, any other number it goes to part 2 of the bet. Say you roll a 6 and it goes to part 2 of the bet, from this point on the only numbers that matter to the pass line bet are 6 or 7. If you roll a 6 (again) the pass line wins, if you roll a 7, pass line loses, the dice are passed to the next shooter and it goes back to part 1 of the bet.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't pass is the opposite, in part 1, you lose on 7 or 11, win on 2, 3 or 12 (well you will push on either 2 or 12 depending on the casino, it will be marked on the table and say either bar 2 or bar 12 which ever one it says is the one your bet will push on) and go to part 2 for any other number. Once the don't pass bet is in part 2, it is still the opposite of pass line. Lets use the same example and say you rolled a 6 to go from part 1 to part 2, the don't pass bet will lose if you roll a 6 the second time but it will win if you roll a 7.

    Pertaining to a perfect system, it exists but you can only pull it off if you're a high roller. If you're a big fish you can sometime negotiate a discount on losses with the casino. If you get, say, 10%, you get someone you know on the table to bet the opposite of you. One of you will win, and the other will lose, but only be responsible for 90% of the debt (losses). You win 10% every single time. Has anyone ever tried this?

  • @jeff13148
    @jeff13148 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks Stevefor an excellent video. "Don't betters" will lead you to believe that they have an incredible advantage over pass line betters. It's all BS. If they think that casino is going to give them a much better advantage than a pass like better they are just living a dream. Don't betters have about a nickel out of a $100 advantage. Wow! Either one acceptable. Pass line is much more fun. Just don't play the center sucker bets. Like Steve says you gotta play the best bets and hope to get lucky.

    I'm glad that the last comment is only a few days old so that I know this video is still active. There are, in fact, 2 unbeatable systems that you can use and never lose; one is easy and one is hard. The easy one: sometimes you'll get a free bet voucher on the table as a comp in the mail. You can keep winning on it until you lose but even if you lose on the first role, it was free. The problem; you can only do it once.

I've come out ahead much more often than not on all different platforms. But I do leave when I'm $200 ahead everytime. Is this pure luck or is there some form of strategy to that style of betting? What are the odds for all these bets combined ? Maybe thats the wrong way to ask. thanks!

      bill1957111 Actually, there are some games where you can be a long-term winner over the casino, but craps is not one of them. Blackjack and video poker are two games where it can be done. There are some people who believe that you can learn to control the dice when playing craps, but I didn't delve into that subject. If you could control the dice and throw certain numbers more than others then, yes, you could get an advantage at the game of craps. However, this topic is controversial and it is not a proven fact that it can be done. Maybe, in the future, we will do a video on the subject of controlled dice shooting to explore it further.

    Let me start by saying best videos on craps I’ve seen. Now if you could make new videos without stating all the percentages because it’s like information overload lol. Also if you could go all the way through the “positive” bets without mentioning the “negative” as in don’t come bets until you are done with the positive bets. It would be so much easier to follow. And finally if you could slow down and go a little more in-depth while explaining the first couple of bets as in bets on the pass line and the bet you put right behind it then the bets on specific numbers like 4,6,8, etc then the field. The reason I’m saying this is I feel that a better more thorough explanation of those first basic bets would be incredibly helpful. Like I said at the beginning of this comment though this is the best “how-to” video on craps I’ve seen. I’ve already downloaded the app and will be buying the book as well
    Thank you for the videos

    Is it true that it would be better to just bet the pass line with max odds you can afford rather than betting an additional two come bets and only playing minimum free odds on all your bets?
    Neal

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +wardn53 Yes. You would be giving the casino the lowest house edge if you only made a pass line bet with the maximum odds that you could afford. With a pass line bet and triple odds, the casino advantage on your entire bet would only be .47% If the casino offered 10 times odds, the advantage would only be .18%.

      @markwallace7441 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheJackpotGents Hi, I enjoyed your video in comparison with others and appreciative of your replies. Along the same theme as this question above, if the shooter establishes a point of 4 or 10 and we're on the pass line, would it be more effective (with a limited bank roll of less than $500) to only put odds on our PL bet and NOT play the come bets (and subsequent odds)....due to the much higher likelihood of the shooter rolling a 7 before that 4 or 10 point? In essence, since we know the point, we can take out another level of risk. Thanks in advance.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@markwallace7441 Well the odds bet behind your pass bet has no house edge so the more money you put behind it, the lower the overall house edge becomes on your total bet of pass line + odds. The 4 and 10 may be harder to make than other numbers before sevening out, but they also pay more to make up for that. The odds on those 2 numbers pays 2 to 1 so you get double what you bet if you win. With a limited bankroll, your best bet would be to bet the table minimum on the pass line and then bet at LEAST single odds behind it. Just adding single odds drops the house edge rather significantly

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You are correct that the odds of rolling two threes on two dice is the same as rolling two sixes on two dice. However, that is not the bet that you are making. Twelve is a one-roll bet and you only win if a 12 is thrown. With a hard six bet, you win if two threes are rolled and lose if 1-5, 5-1, 4-2, 2-4 or any combination of seven is rolled. Any other number rolled is irrelevant and you just keep shooting until you get one of the mentioned numbers.

      Any specific outcome is 36-1. There are multiple "ways" for a number to show. Of 36 ways a 7 is most likely with 6 ways to show.a 4, for instance can show 3 possible wsys. That is why true odds on a 4 is 2-1. Study the ways and the odds, and remember craps is a series of independent trials.

      @TheJackpotGents  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The subject of dice control is somewhat controversial. Some think it works and others do not. People can learn to do amazing things with physical dexterity, so perhaps it could be true? However, I think very few people could actually master it. The other problem is that it would be rather obvious to anyone in the casino that you were attempting to control the dice simply by the way you handle them. Noted blackjack authority Stanford Wong initially believe in dice control and published a book on the subject. However, after time he changed his mind and thought he couldn't mathematically prove that he was a long-term winner and he no longer believes in dice control. It could be argued, however, that perhaps his ability wasn't good enough to master the skill needed, but others are capable of doing it?

    The luck is betting more on a hot shooter there is no such thing as a smart bet. You can make smart bets and claim that you won or will win but by how much? If the shooter was a robot that was programed to hit all the points yeah bet on odds and minimum place bets. My perspective is this the strategy is not so much what the outcome of the dice but how much you are willing to bet. You can learn all the strategies to play in every casino game but the true odds are what the casino psychologically tries to limit you in betting.
