It is good to see Adam Hsu again. My Shuai Jiao shifu Daniel Weng introduced me to him when I helped him move to Cupertino, CA. Adam Hsu and his wife invited us over to dinner after a day of unloading the moving van. Hsu shifu is a living martial arts encyclopedia. He has knowledge of so many styles and systems!

Thanks. Like Master Adam Hsu, I thought Taiji was an exercise for old man and true enough, the sifu who taught me was an old man. But I follow my elder brother along to learn, just out of curiosity. The first few days were just simply exercise, to loose up etc., looked simply but sweat buckets, ached a lot the next day and discovered muscles, in places, that you never thought you had. After about 2 months later, without realizing, the feeling of graceful movements, coupled with some occasion hard moves, the joy came and I began to love the Chen Style Taiji. I went on to learn the sword play too. According to my friend, he said that his golf improved too, mainly because the body is more flexible, the mind, the swing is more focus and consistent. Yes, there are lots of similarity between the two and the best thing is, you can still do these, right up to your very old age.. Btw, my sifu was about 70 yrs old then, ex-black belt jujitsu and a qualified architect, hence, he explained a lot using Physics and science. Cheers.

@suleyman490 The Secret Files of BaGua Zhang are very good, especially for folks who are early in their BGZ training.

Very nice video and interesting journey. Basically, if you want to save time, learn an internal martial art first, then apply when learning a hard style.

I had been doing Tai Chi for about 15 years. Then I took Kajukenbo. One time they taught us a “new” technique. I was able to throw my trading partner on the first try. Of course, I’d been practicing that move for a long time.

I've always been curious why the Chen Style on Taiwan looks a little different than the Taijiquan in Chen Village. I really like the way they do it. I like both ways, but I am just curious about the differences.
I think the teacher that Master Hsu mentioned, Master Du, has something to do with it. If anyone reading this knows more about Master Du, or knows anything else about the history of Chen style on Taiwan, please let me know.
