As a zoomer, whenever I saw the quibi ad with Anthony Anderson and his mom it made me think that they were trying to sell to boomers. The celebrities they got were not people that made me say "oh I want to watch that". Like why tf would I care about chrissy teigen???

@@J0daa no. This idea is so flawed i have to respond a year later. Wisdom comes with experience but experience dosen't equate to age. Older people have a higher chance of having more experience but aren't guaranteed.

I dunno. 10 minute videos on TH-cam get my full attention span, and I watch them on my phone. Maybe it's just better because YT is free though. I think celebrity-based shows are beginning to fall off anyway and are mostly kept alive by people who are 30 or older, which is why Tiktok succeeds, TH-cam succeeds, Vine did okay for a bit, things like that.
We're more interested in "authenticity" and people we can relate to in some way. So its less Quibi not giving us an out (our phones) and more Quibi not creating content zoomers enjoy in the first place.
I want to know what 16 year old Shaun in South Dakota is up to today, not what new project J Lo is working on. I dont know why I care, or why I would spend my time like this, its just a vibe i guess

Imo, thats because youtube has developed a different metagame for creators. Most content is just at peak 100% of the playtime, else people click off to watch something else. Just like big A said, its shit shows where you can just not pay attentiom where you grab your phone, and in youtube thats equal to looking at another video. TH-cam's monster recommendation engine can also be a reason to shy that doesnt happen often
@@firad2526 facts. People watch 10-20 minute TH-cam vids because typically, the videos they’re watching are things they have searched up or have a big interest in. I used Quibi for a time. Compared to TH-cam, like you said, it was insanely hard to find things that just made you click in 1 second and start watching.

Agreed, I don't really get the "it takes up your phone screen!" take, because Tik Toks do the same thing. Atrioc has a point - people will watch bad TV, but they won't subscribe initially for bad TV. You have to reel them in with interesting content, and then they'll let their standards drop and look around the platform for something else because the app is already downloaded.

Imagine if the 1.7 billion had been given to creators from TH-cam and TikTok to put into their videos to improve them, or to make content at a higher production level.. that would've been so much better, even if they had to move to a different platform to do it.
