It feels like I’m enveloped in the pure love that Mother Earth has bestowed upon us. The melody flows gently, like a serene river through a lush, green forest, soothing the soul. I can’t help but lose myself in this beautiful melody, again and again.

I do an annual canoe camping trip down the Shenandoah River. Its a beautiful place to spend some time, and I'm sure is a great place to find inspiration to write some ambient guitar, though I haven't ever brought my guitar with me when I go.

I love that you love a river. I love where I live too and my connection to the land really resonates in all my playing. I used to play these gigs at this ski resort and no one would be listening, it would be -10C (14F) my hands would hurt so bad from the cold and I would just start playing to the mountains. Love your stuff, hope you are healthy and happy.

I adore this kind of content. To see and hear you play in the landscapes that inspire you. What a beautiful setting too. Rivers are at their best at dawn and dusk when the mist appears. I live right by a major river that has shaped the landscape about me. Powerful, magical, ever-flowing and beautiful in all seasons.

I once held a D -1 note on a Volca Sample buried in a snow drift….. shout-out to Eneloops.
It would be cool if you had a telescopic fishing rod in your back pocket, and a bobber drifting downstream, occasionally pausing the composition to reel in a small trout, then gently releasing it back into the wild, and continuing on with the performance 😅

I live near a river and mountains myself and love the atmosphere of it. Shenandoah is also one of my favorite tunes and I have been wanting to do a solo ambient type arrangement but it looks like I’ve been beaten! Love your videos Bill, keep on making beautiful music!

Kinda like standing in a bathtub holding a toaster, but this sounds so much better...
If you ever find yourself standing in a bathtub with a live toaster, you probably have bigger things to worry about than the sound.
Forgive me but I find this simultaneously and alternately lovely and silly. On one hand, there is the harmony between the beauty of the music and the scenery and the intended meaning behind that conjunction. On the other hand, wet boots. I could go on at disturbing length but will spare us both but if I did, the electronics in/over water would be a major part of the discussion, you beautiful madman. And for the record, my previous favorite version of this was on Garcia and Grisman's Not For Kids Only.

The only electricity was a Zoom recorder in my back pocket powered by 2 AA batteries. :-)

Are you using an alternate tuning on this one? I have to ask because Im only a novice at guitar and never learned much music but I picked up my acoustic to try playing along a bit and something made me feel like my guitar was tuned too low.
This guitar is tuned to C# standard. Also, there is a partial capo that creates an open tuning effect.
What bug spray did you use to keep from being ate up??
