That's one lucky elderly Rolls-Royce. It's so good to see it being brought back to life. The poor thing deserved the second chance it's being given.

What a satisfying job! The care and attention to detail you pay to each and every job on this car will ensure it will remain in excellent running order for many years - and miles - to come. Well done!

What a fantastic job, and educational too. I didn't know the correct way of how to pack a bearing of grease, so thanks for showing us. I like the music. It goes well with the video, when a job is finished and looks good. Great work!!

    Great bearing backing technique!

I worked for Timken for ten years. Nice to see the tapered roller bearings are still going strong . 😊

@ I don’t doubt it . I worked for British Timken from mid seventies to mid eighties. I remember getting a new front wheel bearing for my mark one Cortina £1.75 !

I'm sorry...but I find the sound of the wind swirling about your garage...so soothing! Beavering away at one's hobby whilst the weather's up outside is comforting to me. Reminds me of building my AirFix plastic models in my garage in the 1970s. Even here in Hawai'i, the wind is a nice musical accompaniment.
You're doing this right, though. I could only put my models on the shelf when I was done. YOU...can take your hobby out on the road and drive it!
Brake work on a Rolls is an epic task. In your (brake...) shoes, I would be grateful my Rolls-Royce ISN'T one of those vintage ones with the servo-assisted mechanical rear drums and hydraulic front drums. I had a mate with a dodgy old 1950 Silver Wraith who was massaging his brake system almost weekly back in the 1980s. What a faff...
In comparison, your setup is a model of modern simplicity. Enjoy the results when your done...in the howling wind or not. Aloha.

Absolutely thorough job Paul. I could hear the wind whistling outside. Brrrrrrrr. Cool 18 deg. Spring day here in Tasmania. Just saying…….😀

Why didn´t you split the calliper? Only 4 more screws. Cause between both halfs there are two more o-seals to replace, as the callipers intend to leak there very likely. Also cleaning and replacing the pistons seals is much easier job then.
