Great review! I had paper bags in the two copies I found here in Australia. FYI the F40 logo was only stamped on the right-hand side of the spoiler. Those custom wheels look great! One of the things I've been able to fix is the see-through doors.

Thanks, yes it's worth it, some great parts as well. I think i might buy another set to use for a MOC mine our someone else's design (not sure what it will be yet).
I feel like the print on the windshield make the car look a bit thicker, besides the headlights i think its pretty decent, cant wait for the improvements for this one!
Yeah the side windows should have also been deeper. There are some cool ideas out there already so will have to see if i can come up with anything unique. I think the custom wheels was already a good start though.
Great review as always John, the custom wheels are just WOW, I'm getting them for mine. My biggest gripe with this, is the windscreen. It's over printed in my opinion, if you have a tributo one to swap over, it makes a big difference but then clashes with the back end. It's a faithful rendition and I loved building it. Not as good as the countach but it's great to have both these 80s super car monsters in my collection. Very interested to see what you might change on this.
@@liamgorman3947 Thanks most appreciated. The McLaren is also 80's so I guess there is potential for more (fingers crossed) Not sure what mods i will do, but it will have to wait as I've got a few cars to build in the next couple of weeks.
Great review, unfortunately for us adults, these are kids toys, and as such Lego need to balance between their budget for the build and how accurate it is. I got this set today and look forward to building it later, and see what irks me enough to try some mods.
@@liamgorman3947yes of course I bought it. I’m also impressed by how good the design is. But without the constraints that the Lego designers have it may be possible to modify and improve. Not sure what I will change yet though

I'm probably going to mod the front a little. Put the turn signals under a clear brick.
Yeah a lot of people are talking about the lights, I might modify them as well.
The F40 only had F40 on one side of the rear spoiler.

I miss your size comparison with the Real model and the scale and i Hope you ll try to improve it !
