I have never been an avid car fan, but this build looks so incredible, I went ahead and purchased this (and picked up the MINI Cooper, for good measure). The set designer, and whoever helped him out did a fantastic job. Amazing review Jang! Can't thank you enough for the quality content. Eloquent and thorough as always. Simply the best channel about LEGO on TH-cam.
And now I only want this more.
The F40 is easily one of my favorite cars, even though it isn't the most visually striking or the fastest, nothing quite has the presence of an F40 (in red of course) sitting in the sun. And this kit looks to perfectly capture that.
Now if you don't mind, I have to go condone my wallet for its losses.

Finally LEGO makes a set that us F40 and other car fanatics can say the've done it right
As you sat there waxing poetic about the F40, the moment you said "there are plenty of cars that are faster than the F40, but there is no replacement for the F40", I couldnt help but be reminded of the Chris Harris video.
So i was extremely pleased to hear you give a shoutout to it at the end.
I havent had much in the way of Lego budget here the last several months, but this is going to bet bought as soon as i possibly can.
One set I won't pass up, as a very very big car enthusiast, Ferrari is one company that I'll always love for their models that have personality and speed. I like the Lego went in this direction and made one of their most iconic models. Even though I love imports a lot, the Ferrari F40 is one car that I will never regret loving it! Such a fantastic model and a great success by Lego.
I was never into cars or LEGO, at all. But I accidentally came across this set on the internet today and it was love at first sight. I think it's beautiful, and if I had disposable money I'd buy it.
Just finished building mine after getting another windshield. Jang is absolutely right . This is the "one". Make sure to watch slowly rotating Lego F40! Again and again thank you Jang for the best Lego Ferrari F40 review.

I had it in 2 posters, the 1:18 Bburago model and the little 1:59 Matchbox, as the hardest-to-get sticker in the sticker collection... I guess now it's time to build it! It is so so good they didn't screw it up...
This has always been my favorite car, I remember seeing it in an ad on the back of a magazine, My dad was reading my brother and I an article on howey mandel and bobys world.

just watching this review has made me inexpressibly happy. i think this is the best ferrari set lego has done so far. the car is instantly recognizable and looks right from all angles. it's amazing.
I'm just as big a F40 fanboy as you seem to be (I used to know all its tech specs by heart), I've owned a Bburago 1:18 model for decades and it still makes me stop and stare, I just can't seem to get over of how attractive a car it is. I'm actually a bit embarrassed to still not have bought this set. You really have sealed the deal for me, Add to Cart!
This would go great with the VW T2 Van and the MINI COOPER!

Beautiful car and the definition of a classic! I do hope LEGO continue this trend for detailed sets for other cars like the Enzo or the classic GTO.
I absolutely love your style of review. I usually decide whether or not to buy a set based on either your opinion, details I glean from the build watching your excellent visuals since the white background and close-ups help bring out lots of detail compared with other channels' videos of the same set, or a combination of both. This set marks the third time I've really enjoyed the building experience and then come back to watch your video a second time as a way of capping off the whole experience. Thanks!

One of the most accurate car builds I've ever seen.
I always praise Lego for their impressive engineering. Especially when I got the Poe X wing for my birthday. A tad expensive and a little sceptical about the build. But Things turn out for the better and I was very exhilarated and proud to own the set once built. This is sure to be impressive as well
Wow. That is a NICE engine.
I think the canister was that shade of green to represent the Ooze™ brand tire hole filler, it fills the tire up with lightweight gunk covering up the hole and sealing it

I remember seeing one of these in a Lego store, but it was broken. Luckily, I managed to put all of the separated pieces back together.

It would be sweet if they made a series with things like this, model cars but Lego, I would love a Mustang in some way shape or form.
I just completed mine. It took about 7 hours. I still don't know what the green tabs on the rear were for though. Never the less I love this build, hats off the Lego for making this model. I want more. May be a Countach or Magnum P.I.s 308 or a vintage Ferrari such as one of the 250's.
the green plates are for holding the rear end of the car while you're building

the Ferrari f40 are worth about 2 million dollars now. my dads friend owns one and I have sat in it. awesome car and very comfortable!
Lego should make a model of a mercedes-benz 300sl gullwing, I can already see the doors open upwards

You missed a dash brick ;).. I missed a couple in my build too. The 2x2 under the vents on one side at the back and I messed up the colour of the handbrake trim so when I got to the seat I couldn't find the sloping one.. Great reviews, keep them up!

I really want this set. might put it in a display case and build a scene around it.
IMHO this is an 8.5 out of 10 model, pretty good. What I don´t like on most of the Creator Expert cars is on the one hand, that they don´t use angled beams or 1x4 tiles to build the window pllars, that would look so much more convincing than printed windscreen elements. The other issue is the refusal to implement a steering. Even if you don´t consider it as a play toy it would add much to the appeal to be able to display the car with a bit of lock on the front wheels. BTW: Very much like the Chris Harris interview with former road tester Mark Hales when they discuss the danger of driving the F40 fast in the wet. Using 4th instead of 3rd gear doesn´t help, because the rear wheels would spin up anyway, just much faster in 4th...

That IS a great set; the designers should be proud. Now if they ever do a 308 GTS, I'd be first in line to pick one up.
I think Lego did a good job with this set and should make more cars like it

A must for LEGO is a celebratory Ferrari 488 GTB to mark the release of the newest model of the Ferrari! I'd really love to see that and would spend £100+ on it. But of course that would depend on the brick count, size, etc. Also, the official release is, I believe, next year, so LEGO might not have time to make one that looked accurate and life-like.

Overall, the set looks very authentic and has many of the same features as the actual car. Congradulations Lego for the great designing. However, I did notice some things that caught my attention that could have been made in a more realistic fasion. I noticed that the rear spoiler is very big and bulky compared to the real car, Lego could have rounded off the corners to make it look better. Also, some of the intake vents are stickers. Lego tends to do this on a normal basis if they cannot find another way to make it in lego bricks. Lego could have just done a better job with the stickers and instead of having some details as stickers, try to work their way around the problem to make the model look much neater and real. Lastly, Jang commented in the video about the blue pins intruding on the retracting head lights. I would have liked to see Lego replace the blue pins with the red pins so the color flaw would not draw too much attention. I love this set and should be gting it for the holidays.
Whenever I glance at this F40 from the shelves I thought it looked bland. However this review made me appreciated the effort made into designing this beauty. One question though, are the bricks used for the Ferraris are your typical Lego red or the Rosso corsa color used in Italian cars?

Just got this for Christmas. It's a wonderful set and as you said, the manner of attachment is indeed vastly different for someone who grew up with the 90's way of building things; but it is a great way to strongly put to things together. Personally, I would love to see a black Countach made to this scale in Lego Creator so I can have the two greatest rivals racing on my shelf.... is Lego under contract to Ferrari only?

Jang, great review, but I think you should have spent a bit more time comparing the LEGO F40 to your die-cast model that you briefly shoved in at the end.

im 12 but I love Ferraris they are my fave car maker and the f40 is amasing also it is the last Ferrari that was supervised by Enzo Ferrari himself witch makes it more special

Great model, love everything about it except the backend, the backend looks a little clucky. Not that I would have been able to do a better job.
