this was by far my favourite tft set as a player who has consistently played since set 1. As someone who has peaked at emerald and stayed around plat in most sets I can understand how it was horrible from a competitive stand point, but omg was it fun. It was also the first set that made a major innovative change after augments which felt extremely fresh and new at the time and, honestly I don't think anything has made as much of an impact since
This was the first set I hit challenger. The balance was bad like asol was clickable for almost the whole set and many bugs like Astro but it introduced a lot of cool concepts and it was pretty fun to play tbf. I think this is also the set where competitive tft grew the most
I have fond memories of set 7. dragons are always cool. It's insane that dodge negated AD spell damage all the way to set 7. And was only changed because Sy'Fen kept losing out on the huge bite damage. Astral is my vote for the worst designed reroll trait., it literally just played itself. Being able to roll and guarantee a tailored shop is insane. And then the emblem on a dragon was the free-est 3 star I've ever hit. Pandora's bench made 3 starring dragons really easy too. Mainly because there were so few 8/10 cost dragons Augments were fun. The one that comes to mind is prismatic scoped weapons (infinite range) for Shi-Oh-Yu or Yone. It opened up different ways to play, you could be greedy with items since they arent melee. Trait augments were fun too, cavalier's charge deals damage was funny to build around. using thresh or lee sin to displace units for another cheeky charge Or jade giving permanent HP was insane and worked with any tank trait.
I loved playing Legend Cavalier, It was so fun seeing a comp of 3 units (Voli, Annivia, Ornn) with tons of MR, Armor and other stats, absolutely demolishing while outnumbered. Another thing is that this set 7 and 7.5 had more memorable comps and fun units than any other set imo.

I loved Set 7 and 7.5 so much, I genuinely think the set had more fun comps than the last 3 Sets combined. Almost every carry felt satisfying to play and the traits were so different compared to what we normally have. No boring stat boosts but actual traits with unique mechanics and great potential. Honestly the only comp i found a bit boring was Olaf, Diana reroll but other than that everything was fun. I feel like the whole Dragon thing gave them so much freedom to design whatever they wanted because they had to find a way to balance these strong units. And I almost forgot, the augments were so fun too, Think fast on stage 2 for astral, 3 Loaded Dice or the dragon augment. Everything was so goofy but so fun
I would love a video about the most unbalanced, and most hated set of all time - Set 9.5. Where they made Prismatic traits super easy to get, and they made them stupidly strong for no reason.
This was my absolute favorite set so far. It was so exciting. I think I didnt really care or necessarily know about all the balancing issues because I only reached Diamond for the first time when Set 7 was close to ending, so I wasnt playing that competetively.
To be honest this was my favorite set especially the mid set with lagoon being my favorite Econ trait of all time. The dragons costing 7 per unit is kinda a problem and making every combo basically needing a tragic making normal 4-5 costs not as pivotal but the units were absolutely wonderful to play a round with wonderful and creative traits such as revel and shimmer to play around
I love this set. One of the most flexible. Legit you could make some many different comps with all the splashes. TFT is best this way, when it rewards creativity.
I liked 7.5 of this set. I loved Karma Jade and was the only time I got so OP I lost my mind with getting that 3 star Soraka randomly when I was 9 shimmerscale. It was magical

I'd love to see the the 7.5 analysis, I didn't enjoy set 7 that much, too much unbalanced things every patch, and the 1 dragon per comp restriction made some really frustrating situations when you hit a Dragon and couldn't fit it because you were already using one. I had the best time ever in 7.5, specially in the second half when balance were better, I'm really excited to see the 7.5 analysis!
I think I played a lot of Volibear and Elise reroll comps in this set. I remember really liking the first half of this set but not really playing the second half (7.5).

It's nice to see what happened to set 7 before i started playing tft again in set 7.5 and then actually for real. Would love to see a follow up on seeing how stuff changed in set 7.5, like lagoon and darkflight stacking zekes infinitely. Did 4 dragons already exist in set 7 ? Cheers
Yeah it was called dragon horde, and it was a meta comp for a little bit. Basically an augment let you play all the dragons and you'd typically play 4 units - Sy'fen, SOY, Daeja and maybe Aoshin or Shyv
The current TFT magic set has so many bugs RN too. No rewards from treasure armory sometimes, pathing issues, visual bug when you buy a champ too. Just to name a few

Set 7 is a strange one. My least favourite set so far, but had my favourite unit of all time (Elise) for at least half of it, and was also the set I climbed the highest (Master 250lp). The main problem with this set was it was constantly plagued with balance and bug issues. The Aurelion Sol patch almost made me quit I was so frustrated. The stuff that was broken was always CRAZY broken. Set 7 also had a bunch of traits I did not like (Astral, Jade, and Scalescorn).
I FUCKIN LOVE THE 3 COST REROLL UNITS THIS SET , VOLIBEAR ANIVIA LEGEND, DRAGONMANCER NUNU (MY BELOVED), RYZE INFINITE HADOUKEN, DEATH STACKING AD OLAF, SWAIN DRAVEN AXE RAGEBLADE ECON, BUNGEE JUMPER ELISE, GOD THIS SET WAS SO GOOD
you forgot about one of the most opressive comps of the set and also one of the easiest (it remembers me of syndra on this set) and it was karma dragomancer + tempest with all 3 stars and low cost units. She has TONS of HP and pretty high dmg also she was on the front line and cleared everyboard, it was ridiculous
I started playing TFT seriously during set 7. Though I've tried a few games back in set 4 and 5, there was no in-game instruction, which is why I struggled so hard and decided to quit. Yet set 7 came, giving me my first top 1 right in the first ever game of set 7 of mine. Guess what ? I chose to play Astral. Damn those memories really kicks in now.

First set I hit masters in set 7 had a corki syfen comp that ended up beating the corki idas comp and 7.5 has mage nomsy when nomsy was a clickable unit and one of my favorite tft units of all time
Much better than 2cost reroll comp rn.
this was my first set i played in! i love astral
my absolute fav set
What's the song at 13:20. I know. I've heard it multiple times before while playing a nintendo game but i can't find out what. Is it pokemon??? Someone please help.
Think it'll be boutique on Pokémon x and y
This was the second set i played and it's still my favorite, yea it wasn't balanced but it was so much fun
I started playing tft cause of this set, I haven't felt the same rush ever since
Set 7 , 8 , 8.5 were just my favourite
i absolutely loved guild, i played so much ryze reroll
this set is still my favourite set! atleast before the 0.5 patch, i hated and still hate the 7.5 patch
Broooo same. I HATED 7.5 WITH A PASSION
@@Nomsynho YESSSS the set went from broken and messy diamond to broken and messy pile of shit😭🤣
the way they ruined the dragons by reducing their cost still breaks my heart😭
I hated the set 7.5 so much i actually stopped playing TFT
This was my first tft set and I still remember my first 1st place finish with twitch 3 star with guild. But man did I hate Aurelian sol to my bone when he buffed because it made positioning of your units obsolete
Syndra in set 12 was somehow a reminder of Aurelion Sol
This was my favorite set and I played them all.
Karma, ashe, sett, anivia, ornn, lee sin, volibear with BT guinsoo and qss or titan's
Always forced, Always had fun
Ao shin could nothing
Whispers spellblade daeja nukes had me hooked on tft so bad
Best Unit was Jinx with her permastun (2guinsos and one spear) and the bounceshot - so she will permault and permastun the map and deal dmg too
Set 7 is a strange one.
Gotta get that nostalgia hit... I should really rename my channel to Nostalgia TFT LOL
@@Nomsynho fr bro, watching this makes me realize it's been 5 set since those days already. Time surely flies huh
Man... it's been 5 years since set one... Where the fuck did the time go?
bro forgot the Astral bug tech
people casually getting Astral Asol 3 at lvl 6
That shit busted 😂
Even tho balance in this set was widely questioned, I absolutely loved that set and it will probably be my most favorite set ever. It was RNG af yes, but I loved it anyway.
I will always remember you wisper graves my beloved
I miss on-hit Runaans
back in my day runaans procc'd onhit effects
Whispers Syfen my beloved.
Set 7 was my absolute favorite
Gigachad nomsy with 9 zeke's/chalices and guild is still the most fun comp I played.
i remember when this set came to PBE noone played shiohyu
Wasn’t the flashiest dragon, jade was boring compared to other comps and i just spammed him lol was so fun
When 7.5 came i didn't like the Dragons could be put in the same team but really love the Lagoons
draven axe was vertical top one when you get it early
I miss this set so much god
I AM SHOOK btw, how many people share this sentiment... it's like... Dragons actually weren't a mistake?
I used to love volibear carry miss this set
I feel like you omitted just how powerful and dominant guild xayah was for a majority of the set. There were times where it would be 6 way contested in my GM lobbies. Also revel xayah was a crazy interaction, if you remember that.
In case you can’t tell, set 7 Xayah is my favorite unit of all time lol
Not omitted, just forgot lol
I never had more fun and more anger in a set
i didn't play this set like at all idk i got soo confused that i just didn't even try , now i wish i did
