In almost every one of Bill Alexander's episodes, he STRESSED that he doesn't work from a sketch. That his ideas were already in his mind. ENTER: This dude, who works from a sketch, and uses the materials in such a technical, planned, structured way...UGGGHHHH!! VERY CONFUSING to the beginner.
This person is geared more towards people who already watched Bill. Bill tries to inspire someone to be a beginner in the first place. And I think he teaches more than painting, to be honest.
William F. Buckley Jr a beginner wouldn’t work from something from his mind but would paint from a model of some sort. Alexander painted so many years it was all in his mind.
yeah, i hear you. it is really different from the way that bill does it, but i think its GOOD that its different. it gives us a variety of ways to tackle a painting. try it and see if you like it. if so, do it, if not, skip it. just do whatever feels good to YOU!!:) im a beginner also and just try to take one little piece from each episode/lesson. not to promote blasphemy (i dont think it is) but watch bob ross S1 E13. its super good for learning. :)
