This soundtrack was LIGHTYEARS ahead of it’s time. The feelings I get when I listen to it now and the feelings I had as a child playing this incredible game back then. Indescribable.
This is a very difficult soundtrack to try to arrange; the original was so incredible that it's hard to make something that sounds better. You're either stuck trying to make it just like the original, which means anything that's a little bit off sounds like a flaw, or you have to try to "make it your own," which winds up shooting you in the foot on the tracks that sound better when they try to be more like the original. ...There's a number of these tracks I really enjoy.
Honestly, that's what I wish somebody would do. The Super Castlevania IV soundtrack., unaltered, save for he use of the actual instruments the SNES soundchip is trying to emulate. But of course I realize when people make music they have to contend with odd time signatures, the complexities of the pieces they're playing and all that. I'm sure many might think the approach I mentioned sounds rather boring... But still, it's not like one can outshine a soundtrack that's already perfect.
@watchinglearner Toyally agree, this is probably the closest thing I've heard so far. But yeah, the soundtrack played verbatim with real instruments would be majestic.
remembered my adolescent stage, I really enjoy this game a lot today. excellent songs, great arrangements, just perfect. Congratulations to the composers.
I always find myself playing through this game. You know how people may beat a game like 5 or 6 times, with the next closest being maybe 3 or 4? Well I have probably beaten this game now at least 20 times, with the closest behind Link to the Past at around 4 or 5 times.
I start playing this game when I was 12, now I am 42.How many times I beat this game? I don't count anymore, but for me the music is the thing that bring me memories from my past when I play this game on a black & white crt.
Nice! I've played it counless time since me and my bro bought it for 12$ at a used game store in 1995 i play this and supermetroid at least once a year.
@@jud6ment , did you ever hear of the MSU-1 enhancement chip and cartridge? Seriously, just use it on an SNES and boom, you have instant orchestral sound.
An amazing remaster of the Super CastleVania IV OST in celebration of SCVIV's 30th Anniversary. Hopefully we'll get an HD remaster of Super CastleVania IV, With revamped music, Enhanced graphics & character redesign's.
Master piece!! Loved the whole album. Sent chills down my spine each time I listen to it. I love Bloody Tears, and yep I think it's played out, but that guitar intro *chef's kiss*
This is inspiring. I want to help create a Super Castlevania IV remake. 2D/3D mix. But more CVIII-ish mixed with CV:SotN elements of retreading stages. More stages that the 90s game hinted at. The remade game should look like new renaissance & gothic artwork that the cover art pointed to.
@shadowshinobi06 :; The original game hints at least two alternate paths. First, the path above the cave levels. Then, the path beyond the tower where the floor disintegrates.
Maybe having a stage select system like Rondo's (beating the stage boss that leads to the next stage will unlock that next stage on the stage select) could fix the issue of having to replay through the whole game again to reach branching paths? You still have the replayability of going back to search for the alternate paths but it also means you don't have to do it all in one sitting / use passwords (given the length of the game, the stage select might also be a good thing to have in that regard too). Plus you could even mix in elements of the other Castlevania 1 remakes by having Selena (the bride from Haunted Castle) getting kidnapped by Dracula at the beginning and locking her away in an alternate path. Rescuing her could unlock an extra final boss phase (just like Dracula X Chronicles), that represents the Dracula's Ghost fight from 1 / Chronicles. Failing to save her on the other hand could result in her being turned into a vampire on an alternate stage (if you save her, this boss could be replaced with a Succubus imitating her appearance).
That Flickbor Castle is sealed away the label in Super Castlevania 4 world&Castle Map and also the Tower of Druaga&Ghost n goblins(Wonderswan Remake) and contra 3&4 from Super Smash Bros mysterious
Wow this is such a nice listen. I love most of the samples used. But one criticism is that the volume levels on each input track seem unchanging throughout the album...
Yeah, the mixing really needs rework...the production in general...the sound quality is suboptimal too. It's a shame because the instrumentation and (aside from the first stage theme) the rhythm are on point, not to mention excellent additions (like choirs and horns to stage 4-1).
La atmosfera desatinada que tiene estas versiones no se escuchan a la altura de las originales de SNES. se supone que si los iinstrumentos de esta version son mas reales que las del cartucho debia ser mejor no peor. Very nice work! The original ost atmosphere is quite particular and very difficult to be reproduced. I have listened to an orchestral version which was good but nevertheless not at the level of the original ost... It's quite undescribable how the original ost is...
I love this except the choice of instruments for stage 3-1. That flute gives it an Asian vibe that has no place in Castlevania. Just a personal opinion, with that said, the work is amazing overal.
As much as I would like to enjoy this, your arrangements suffer from lack of dynamics and a muffled sound. For example, the drums in "Forest of Monsters" sound robotic for their lack of articulation. The compositions of this game are at times very complex and each element needs to be carefully mixed.

Uhhh Acckkkshuwally... Light years is a measurement of physical distance... soooo......
Couldn’t agree more. Oh and btw, use *its in that situation. Not *it’s.
My all time favorite Castlevania game.

I agree. There are a lot of wacky time signatures and progressions in this soundtrack, which makes it all the more impressive!
Honestly, that's what I wish somebody would do. The Super Castlevania IV soundtrack., unaltered, save for he use of the actual instruments the SNES soundchip is trying to emulate. It is
This is amazing…grew up with this game. Thank you for making this for us all.
This is absolutely incredible.
The library my favorite 🥰
if only the SNES could do music like this, Castlevania IV would have the best OST of the entire series
You can on an emulator, just look at the videos on my channel. In fact i am here to see if there is music i may want to ask if i can use.

Epic remix, the bloody tears was great
Dude, that was awesome.
This is very well done, and it retains the feel of the original Tracks. Clearly a lot of work went into this. Thank you for sharing!
Brutal!! I need one remake for this game!!!!!
Your work deserve more acknowleges. Great ! Even if some levels are missing...
Allegedly CV: Lords of Shadow was originally going to be a CV4 remake.
This would have been PERFECT for that.
Well done!
Dude, don't gimme hope like that.
It still turned out to be one in a sense, and a great one at that. Just not a direct remake.
Wow. So awesome and really keeps the vibe of the originals. Thanks a lot.
Outstanding!! Wow!! I did not expect this level of caliber.
Nice, I Love the Game Serie in 2 D Best
Beautiful! Bloody Tears needs more Timpani though.
This is inspiring.

@shadowshinobi06 :; What if the stages transformed over larger periods of time and after activating mechanisms in other parts of the Castle?
:; Hm. Multiple game modes? Classic stage 1 to stage Z and non-linear as options? Cinema mode for less skilled or handicapped players?
@shadowshinobi06 :; The original game hints at least two alternate paths.

@shadowshinobi06 I liked how sotn retreaded the stages
I like how you composed two different interpretations of "Ending".
A timeless soundtrack...
Great remix to an already amazing soundtrack.
What a great arrangement. Best 👍
Very cool man!! Love the MIDI style
With many, he hit the nail on the head, the rest were more like "I get the idea, but this wouldn't fit in the game....ish"
and where is the stage 5!? :'(
Yeah! Was looking forward o hearing how that would be handled.
Lol they only grabbed MIDIS and slammed the instruments.
great job. so many good memories
Great game and soundtrack, and typically for Castlevania, the first song is the best:)
Love the dungeon theme.
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!
30:20 WOW!
What a good night too have a bless
clike #1000! sounds AWESOME lets go for the 10000.
Fantastic! Please do a 10 minute version of the Password theme.
I agree !

This needs MORE LIKES!
Amazing work!!!
14:18 YES!
Loved it! Great work! :D
Wicked and sexy arrangments.
Still my all time favorite game soundtrack
Damn. I really wanted to hear that song before you get into the castle. The stage where it looks really windy with the grass around you. Oh well.
great !

Oh thank you!!
We need stage 5 too :(
Or stage 8 for that matter
28:43 Nice organ sound

Thank you...
Sublime

fantastic job, but I was hoping to find the cellar track cover.
Yeah, same here. Funny considering it was the most used track in the prototype (and it was way longer).

came for stage 8....derp^^ great job anyways :)
*NICE*
I don't like the map themes, but the rest is amazing
Why this doesnt have a million views is beyond me
Super Castlevania IV's soundtrack is painfully overlooked if you ask me. I'm not surprised this doesn't have too many views, but it should.
Heres a full orchestra version :)

They forgot the laboratory stage! (Frankenstein)
GOOF TROOP ! PLEASE DO SNES GOOF TROOP! There isnt any decent remasterization of their OST ! Thank you and greetings from Brazil
Holy shit
That bass in Submerged City was a little weird because of some notes... But it was great, nonetheless.
This sounds like it belongs in the Original Age of Empires
Funny, I just realized the castle in the cover is Bojnice castle in Slovakia
Where is the Dungeon level theme?
Excuse me, but where is stage 8? The Torture Chamber is my favorite one.
Falta mas fuerza en los tambores en las canciones, mas contundencia, por lo demás buena musica.
7:49 best for me
where's Torture Chamber?
You never passed the dungeon level, right?
Esta buenisimo! algunos sonidos suenan como de broma.. Esos no me gustaron mucho. Me quedo con la original.
You advertise your spotify but this album isnt on there lol
Stage 1 "Dance of the Holyman"????? I think soething's wrong here, isn't the title "Theme of Simon"?
Dance of holy man is it's second name
no boss 1 and 2 tracks?
it's too bad the dracula theme is the prologue version of it, which is less haunting and shorter.
Room of Close Associates lead instrument has to be a harpsichord. Anything else is just blasphemous.
You're missing the very best stage theme 🤣🤣
No no no 16 bit better

Beautiful renditions but It's a shame the audio sounds very compressed.
