    Can you use earplugs for patients who may have problems with equalising the ear pressure or have a slight pain.

      Ear plugs can help! They don't remove the need to equalize, but they can make it a little more gradual.

    I’m doing 40 sessions and I was able to clear and now at 2 weeks I had pain and difficulty in my left year….finally got everything ok..but then coming up I was having problems and that’s usually not as much of a problem. My ears were messed up that evening and had a low level pain. I think she took me down faster as I usually am able to clear just by doing a hard swallow, but my swallows couldn’t keep up with the level of pressure. It’s also difficult to keep swallowing with a dry mouth…what can I do? I was doing everything, moving my jaw, yawning, holding my nose and blowing. I would clear but then the pressure would build up really fast. I can ask her to go slower but I doubt she will. She is packing up her things and ready to bolt as soon as possible. Thank you.

    After doing Valsalva, I slowly open my jaw right which helps to unblock even if doing it normally blocks one of the ears for me. Opening the mouth right when I build by the pressure through the maneuver. Donno, might help someone.

      Great question! Here's a video we did about maintenance: th-cam.com/video/WKCIr535qqo/w-d-xo.html.
      We can't give medical advice through TH-cam, but you can email us at support@hbotusa.com to set up a consultation!

    I went for my first session today at ATX Hyperbarics and they didn’t go over this beforehand besides giving me 2 pieces of gum. I have more recently had trouble on airplanes in my right ear and this was unbearable in my right ear it caused so much pain I had to stop the session. After it started hurting while in there he showed me the Valsalvah but it doesn’t help. It felt like my ear drum might burst. My left ear was totally normal but my right was unbearable. I think there is something wrong in that right ear. Now it feels like I can’t hear as good and there is still pressure and pain on that side. Not sure what to do now.

      Hi, is the pressure released now? Im having this same issue after 3 sessions

    Thanks for this.
    If you can please help with this in the next few hours, I will appreciate it, because I was considering having HBOT in the morning, but having done your tests, I do not feel them equally in both ears, because the right one feels more like a squelch. There was no pain. Could this be fluid build up? I did have a perforation several years ago and there is scar tissue there. Also, I had tubes in there as an infant, so could it just be a sluggish eustachian tube?
    Ultimately, should this warrant me cancelling morning HBOT?

    For a 2 hour session where there’s going to be a fluctuating rate of oxygen how many times do you think my ears will have to pop ?

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Everone is different but most people will equalize a few times per minute for the first 5-15 minutes depending on speed of decent and depth the chamber is going to. That process stops once you reach the treatment depth.

    What about a person or child who doesn't understand how to do one of these???

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      With children or those with cognitive issues, it can be more challenging to use these methods. In those cases, we'll try to have them take little sips of water (or for infants, they can nurse or give them a bottle) and we'll slow down the descent so that the pressure increases very gradually.
