My PTO clutch fell off one day mowing. Bolt completely sheered inside the drive. Tried a easy out tool. Tried drilling the remainder of the bolt out. Doing everything off the ground with about a foot of clearance. So I don't have all the fancy tools and lifts. I resulted to putting a size up from 3/8 to 1/2 inch all thread inside the drive welding it center. Slide the new clutch on, tighten the nut on the bottom. Job complete, or so I thought.. the stop bracket comes flush with the PTO stops. The new clutch seems cheap made although it's almost an exact replica of the OEM. Wish I could show you a video of this. One side of the clutch has what looks to be heavy rivets clasping one side of the clutch with pre measured shim between magnet "top" and clutch bottom. No adjustments can be made on the gap. So once again I modified the bracket to extend another 1.5 inches to keep the clutch from vibrating and jumping over the clutch stop. What a nightmare.
The nightmare is how long it took me to come to the final outcome. After hours drilling and trying to remove the remaining bolt. Welding, plus modifications to the stop was so much easier.
@@elite_slayer01so I’m at the very exact same point about to weld a screw on the crank shaft and place the clutch to tight whit the lock but at the end, this actually works well? Please I need an answer
Thanks for the video. I have a leaking seal on my PTO shaft (Hustler-Honda GXV670). Can I replace the seal from underneath without removing the engine?
I'm not sure if the hole in the frame is even large enough for the seal pass through. Removing the engine isn't fun, but it's not too bad. If you end up removing the engine, disconnect the battery first, stay organized, and take pics to help reassemble everything.
All good advice Cant beat an impact hey. I have a heavy duty cordless Makita that has 4 settings so you can go gentle or give it max. I dont use it much but an essential tool if you need to undo a bolt or nut that would otherwise turn the whole thing when using normal wrenches.
I got it off now an ordered the new one from Warner. For actually under $200 thanks... it's a $800 clutch from JD. I've got a 2018 Z930m how hard will this be to put back together
My bolt broke off recessed in the crankcase. Attempted to use a reverse bit and then the reverse bit broke off inside the already broken bolt. It's been a nightmare
Yeah that's always a nightmare when it happens. Here are two videos that might help out. th-cam.com/video/1bzHXYVFTeU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/XcHFtloQlro/w-d-xo.html
I dont recall ever working on a Z830A. But hey free is always good. If its been sitting awhile you're probably going to need to replace the carb, clean out the old gas from the fuel tank, and blow the fuel lines out to get it started. Plus a new fresh battery. Hopefully nothing major is wrong with it.
Thanks for these videos. I’ve owned a z915b since 2016, appreciate the information.

@@angelmarrodxn3861 yea its perfect.
@@angelmarrodxn3861 it's better to weld all thread. As long as your measurements come out the same.
Thanks for the videos, glad to find out it's not just a me thing lol. Will give it another go with your suggestions.

These new battery impacts are amazing

What do you think about that z830A. I might be getting one for free it hasn't run for a year though.
