Back in March 2018 we collected our new Ssangyong Rexton ELX. We chose this as a tow car match for our Adria Isonzo caravan. In three years of ownership the Rexton has been an excellent car.
With us selling our caravan and buying a Motorhome, the Rexton is now a large and costly car to have on the drive. Because of that we have decided to say goodbye to the Rexton, and our private number plate WE18 TOW.
Its time for a new chapter for us and hopefully someone else will enjoy our Rexton!

Nice car. All the stats you quoted are very acceptable and to be expected for a car of its type. Service costs sound about right too. We always say the definition of a car is a hole in the road into which you throw money 😂 Don’t blame you for ditching the cherish number. We did that in the past too. We are doing similar with our 2019 Ssangyong New Korando Pioneer Auto. Now we have our new motorhome we do not need the towing capability.

Sad to see the Rexton go 🥲 great motor for the new owners hope they look after like you have, I’m thinking a nice sporty two seater Porsche Boxster for nipping to the shops for cream cakes 😉😃. Hope the new Motorhome is on time for your up and coming holidays.

We have just done 1021 miles on holiday and towing a 7.6 metre caravan for 700 of those miles. We have a 3 lite Land Rover discovery 5 260 bhp and we got 29.9 to the gallon. Hopefully we can maintain this with the new discovery R Dynamic HSE which is 300 bhp in September.
Thats good mpg, our friend has the 300hp, they love it. 🚙😊
Not to bad for service pricing, all modern cars are now getting more complicated so cost more to service.
Lovely car but you’re right servicing is sooo expensive. Warranty ties you to dealers = more cost. Watch warranties too what’s actually covered diminishes over time. Look forward to seeing the new pull car lol

On the topic of towing cars behind motor homes, I would be really interested to see a video on the options and legalities of using A frames to do this.
I think Bob Earnshaw has done a few around this and he tows a small car. I believe some insurance companies have clauses around it depending on the method used. 😊 Karina
Never nice to see a car go, but no point keeping a guzzler if you don't need it! My recommendation for a cheap running, good looking and economical car would be a SEAT model of some sort, best with the 1.5 tsi engine. A VW without the VW price 👍 great to see you both in the video!

What towing mirrors did you use on the rexton please, I have the same car, the mirrors I get would ideally fit a vw tiguan also

Diesels are more expensive to service generally. My Range Rover is £450/£850 for the 4.4 TDV8. I have a service plan at £42/month which cuts it down to bearable. 😮
Yes the RR certainly hurts your pocket, I loved mine until the bills started dropping in when it went out of warranty. I must say it was the best tow car ever though! Have a lovely weekend 😊 Karina
Always exciting getting a new car yet sad selling the old one. Getting used to the new corners, and its little quirks. Whatever the new car is, it'll feel like driving a go-kart compared to a big diesel tow car 😀 Cheers for this one folks and look forward to seeing what the new addition is 👍 Mart & Jo.

Manufacturers put harder wearing tyres from new, the aftermarket ones, even same brand are softer, that's why everyone gets great mileage from first set and is more inclined to replace like for like, I had an old ssanyong musso with the old trusty Mercedes diesel engine, ugly but reliable, the private plate, its 80 ish and can be retained for several years with no further fee to put on other car unlike before with retention then reusing
I got only 18,000 miles on my first set with an X3 changed them and got 35,000 on the new set.
@@mshumphries9552 that's unusual, factory tyres from new are premium, I have some background here, did you buy exact same brand and model, what were they, poss runflats with bmw
@@mshumphries9552 did you change all 4 at once, no punctures or uneven tyre wear in 35,000 miles, that's lucky, xdrive I get but usually some front to back uneven wear
