The drum machine sounds were interesting. With the small sample snippets combined with analog oscillators, it is really a form of Roland’s Linear Arithmetic Synthesis!
I almost passed on the XD for the OG model over the lack of the filter switch, but stumbled upon all the user effects, which included a 24db LPF. May not be analog, but the option was there along with many others I hadn't even considered possible, so I ordered an XD to go along with my Monologue and MS-20 mini.
I love it when a nice groove comes together simply. How many times I’ve tried with 20 tracks to get something working. Things like this are why it’s really grown on me.
How are you triggering the Mother32 envelopes? I see the MIDI cable plugged in, so are you sending note on data to the M32 via a DAW plugin or somehting?
One of the best Minilogue XD demos I've seen. And I've seen a lot over the past year. I'd like to link you to a couple of videos that particularly use the microtonal feature on both Minilogue XD and Monologue. th-cam.com/play/PLVKIPoK2Kyru_If4xRSsqssz2_T7weV-o.html

I've done all the normal troubleshooting midi channels, cables, it's turned on, etc. I can't get the XD to receive mod wheel data. Any insight? Thanks. Big fan by the way!!
All of thouse features can work together on deferent presets (include CV programing) ? i wonder why korg dont release any firmware update with all those extra features??!?!
I think it’s where the audio from the camera has unmuted. There’s normally the mic track plus a couple of audio tracks from the cameras which are muted. When editing things mess up occasionally and on long videos it’s hard to find them all - particularly as when your fixing one error the computer often doesn’t catch up with key strokes and you end up making more!! Aarg 🤦♂️😀

starsky or viewers, I need your help, I'm super torn. I'm fairly new to the scene, having been a guitar player for many years - your excellent tutorials were responsible for me buying a CRAVE! So Behringer owe you... speaking of Behringer, I am interested in the Deepmind 12, 12 is better than 4 apparently (polyphony) but I love the sound of the Minilogue XD (presets I should say)... but is the idea that using the Deepmind I can 'design sounds' the sounds that I like and not get too hung up on what i'm hearing in demos? What I hear online of the DeepMind (again presets) I'm not as keen on sound... so I guess the question is do I go Minilogue XD and enjoy 4 notes of polyphony and all its features, or is it better to get the Deepmind and... go deeper as it were? Here in Aus they are fairly close in price... this is my first foray into polyphonic and trying to avoid buyers remorse... I realise this is a hugely subjective topic... any advice would be welcome.
Interesting dilemma :) I prefer the sound of the XD oscillators, ring mod and FM. It also has the expand ability of the 3rd digital oscillator and all the various waveforms you can get for it (Mutable plaits being an obvious winner). I’m not a fan of the limited envelopes but can work with them. The DM can go much deeper on FX, envelopes and modulation but that comes with more menu diving. But it’s got full sized keys bs the Korg Mini Keys. So very difficult. FWIW I find it easier/quicker to get the tones I like from the XD. But either is a good choice - so I’ve not solved you problem I know :)
Have you tried to extend the stepsequencer/change the resolution? I encoutered the problem anything I play and record will not fit in the tempo.. it wil only play back in a slow way.
I think one of the programmes I demo in this uses a slower resolution. It basically doubles the length of each step per change. So from1/16 to 1/8 to 1/4 you’re doubling the time and halving the resolution which means something already programmed will slow to half the tempo. You can’t increase the length of the sequence and keep the same resolution. It’s always only 16 ‘notes’ maximum.
@@StarskyCarr though you can use the arpeggiator on each step. So far it's been mostly a little awkward but with the arpeggiator and motion sequencing and a slower time division you coul, in theory, make a more complex sequence. I've failed so far but I'm also not genius.
Hi, new to you're channel and synths in general. Just wondered what are the risks involved in using these user waves/effects? Can they totally wreck the synth or maybe just crash it and it would need rebooting? Thanks
