I just got my last ronin neca figure from Best Buy in Bradenton it’s lovely best neca figure I own amazing figure never knew the teenage mutant ninja turtles would go down such a dark path
Just got mine, and honestly the paint apps, the mold, the accessories, and the sculpt itself makes this hands down one of, if not, the best figures NECA has produced! It's just so good to look at!!
He dual-wields the tonfa in Last Ronin, so really you have to get both Armored and Unarmored Last Ronins to have him properly armed up with a tonfa on each side.

All three of these are really good. I'm having a hard time deciding which NECA one I prefer. I think I like the unarmored look better, but the armored one comes with better accessories.

Really hoping the Playmates Ronin was also a proof of concept for an Origins style line.
I'l be applying black (blood) paint apps to the yelling face and hopefully the non-armored version can kneel so I can do that iconic seppuku scene!! Also, I hope they make the flashback turtles!! Ben Bishop's design is so good! If we can get the Mateus Santolouco ones, that'll be perfect! Oh man.
The figures are amazing especially the Playmates one, it reminds me of the two pack of the Marage comics turtles and the stranger things figures that playmates did.
I wanted to pick up one of the neca figures and I couldn't decide but after watching this in my opinion the no armor version is so much cooler I really like the detail on the shell and skin. This really helped me decide awesome video.
What I'd really like to see are figures based on the mainline IDW comics. Those designs are begging to be made into plastic

Not sure, but I think that was already done, given that the IDW designs were largely based on the 2012 TMNT show on Nickelodeon - Playmates & (Yamaguchi?) Revoltech had figures for those character designs.
Ive got both the b&w and original playmates and the armoured NECA. Im going to keep them boxed and display the unarmoured version - when i finally get my hands on him, in the seppuku pose ontop of the comics. I cant wait to get this display going!
I’d waited for a comparison of these, luckily the Shiz came along and I’ve come to the conclusion that…I’m still most likely getting all three. I LOVE being a Turtle!

It did. I finally got my hands on both the hardback collected book and the armored figure and I was going to unbox after reading the book but decided to watch a figure review as something to put on while eating dinner.
So I appreciate that you at least gave a heads up. I'll pick up on your review after I get to the book.

Buying both Neca
NECA is the best, but I like the playmates ones with a perfect mix of nostalgia and modern cues and the darker color palette

Man, the neca ones are really nice but that playmates figure is perfect to me.
Playmates would’ve had an instant buy from me if it were retro style on a retro card.

I’m not a turtle fan but that Neca last ronin armored version was just bought after this review. And now I’m debating on the unarmored version but I’ll wait until I get it in hand before I decided.
I recently got the armored version from my Walmart and am getting the unarmored version online. The figure is amazing, though I do wish one of the two included the colored masks seen on the box art of the unarmored version. Those are very important to the character. It would be easy to make custom ones from cloth, but they would have made a nice accessory in a soft plastic.
I'm wondering if this is coming to Target 🤔. I found the variant version today at Walmart.

When I got my unarmored ronin I could fit the tonpha on like the back strap
When I got the armored Neca mikey I heard the katana make a little”Shing” sound that a REAL katana would sound like when it came out the holster
And then you realized an actual ninja was behind you with a Kitanna
The shirtless version is going to be lounging around eating pizza in my lair display. I'll probably re-enact that scene with him at least once, though. 😱
Whenever we get Hiroto Shredder I plan to give unarmed both Nunchaku to recreate one of the best panels. Mikey going full shirtless bruce lee with nunchaku on his ass! You should of shown how the box panels line up to create a picture, you can see part of Raph's hand since I believe he's going to be released next.
I wish NECA hooded one had the 'unarmored face sculpt. Grimm, stoic-look would fir better with hood.
Finally someone compares these figures. Both are great but personally I think playmates did a better style figure but neca never disappoints

Has Neca mentioned expanding the Last Ronin line? I thought these two figures were all that they've mentioned or planned.

I really really hope that last Ronin figure is a sign of things to come from Playmates in terms of them doing something similar to Masters of the Universe Origins but for TMNT.

Man, this is like pitting a Corvette against a Gremlin. Playmates, in my opinion, lost the plot a long time ago, with the primary TMNT license. Most of their decisions make no sense anymore, and most other companies producing TMNT figures - especially NECA - are consistently delivering killer figures for the franchise.

Btw am I the only 1 who thinks the other tmnt animated tv adaptations don’t get NEARLY AS MUCH representation outside of their original Playmates Toys lines??😦 it’s always the either the OG 80’s series, the Jim Henson live action trilogy, or the various comic stories except the IDW series for whatever reason!🙄 so if Neca or any other manufacturer decides to dip their toes into the other shows, which 1 would you like to see??🙃 either A. tmnt 2003, B. tmnt 2012, or C. Rise of the tmnt??🫤
