My soulmate passed away from hep c, chirrosis, and liver cancer. We kept hope until the end. On a thurs in 2019 we found out about the cancer. He played the drums. When he realized he wouldn't be able to play them anymore. He said life wasn't worth living. He passed Mon morn. We were in bed. He had his back to me. We had known it was close. I felt his arm it was cold. I got up and walked around to see his face. He was gone. His eyes were partially open. He hadn't been gone long. I miss him desperately. We laughed everyday. He was funniest person I ever met. He was my sunshine. He was hard on his body for many yrs but he was sober for last year and half of life. Life hasn't been the same. I wish we could do a redo. My heart goes out to the people suffering and to their caregivers. It's hard to watch someone die.
Sorry for your profound loss and God Bless. Lost my brother to pancreatic cancer 3 years ago. He fought hard and lived life the best he could until the end
My husband passed away Oct 24 , 2020. He was drinking all his life, he was I’ll for many years and I knew he would die before me. It was the hardest time in my life and I miss him very much. My condolences to you! Let’s be strong, life belongs to the living!
First let me say that I am so sorry for your loss. We were the same age. I was hard on my body, not drinking or drugs or anything. I would get out on a motorcycle and do something really stupid. I would pop right up and chuckle. But toward the end of my 30s I noticed that my body would hurt whenever I got cold, of the air pressure was high it was not so bad, at least for me. If it was super low then I would have to lie around and ache. As the years went by, the aches got worse. Then I was diagnosed with a degenerative bone disease and that was it. Now I have had surgeries all over my body to stabilize this, or pin that. Now I can barely walk and I am confined to either a bed or a wheelchair. Cirrhosis is not something I would want to deal with. My grandmother had it and never took a drink in her life. I am so glad you were able to spend time with him.
I'm saddened to hear that. Watching videos like these opens your eyes to how precious the liver is. You can get cirrhosis from NAFLD that can turn into fibrosis and so on. Some people are ignorant and there is a stigma attached to alcoholics. At least people like this gentleman reached out for help.
I just saw it today also. Apparently he has passed. I am an RN for 43 years. One of the scariest things I ever saw was a ruptured "esophageal varicosity." The blood shot for 10 feet across the room. A varicosity is like a bubble. We have very large arteries that exit from the top of the heart under pressure that are beneath esophageal tissue. Ingesting corrosive liquids...including ethanol, acids like vinegar...and even beverages that often have a ph below 3!!! Coca-Cola has a ph of about 2.7 and is caustic. Apparently alcohol is worse on the esophageal tissue than low ph drinks...which is surprising to me. Apple Cider Vinegar comes with a warning to dilute before drinking to prevent this very thing. I dont know if we will ever hear exactly how the rest of his life went before passing..I havent discovered it if it's there.
@Jerry-sn4nx I watched a tough one on a hospital floor. Spooky when you are talking to a person and they shoot blood across a room. Not many survive it.
Woody I don't know you but i send my love and a big hug from Oregon. I've lost dear friends to alcohol. My soul is scarred. I've survived combat in Iraq, a divorce and extreme loneliness. But I have Christ and eternal life in him. With you my brother. Mac.
I could drink anyone I met under the table for 35 years. I’m almost 12 years sober. This really woke me up. I’m 60 as well. Scary!!! Thanks for your info.
12 years sober. I'm pretty sure your liver is ok now. That doesn't mean to start again. The lliver is the only organ that will regenerate itself over time. I'm sure you know this, but don't make the same mistake twice.
unfortunately it won't. The problem lies with the fact that in order for the liver to regenerate it needs to regenerate from healthy tissue. If you damage that healthy tissue then it doesn't have something good to regenerate from .
My mother died from alcohol related cirrosis at 48. She couldn’t kick the habit and it was too late for her. Thank you for sharing your story. Stay strong 💪🏻
@@haydenlaidlaw6410 Hang in there! She is in severe pain and the alcohol is helping numb her. I know all this because I went through exactly what this video is about with my boyfriend. I am so sorry you are going through this!
Rest in peace sir, I just turned 30 and have been drinking heavy for 2 years straight. I’m sick and tired of waking up every morning and saying last night was the last time I’m going to drink. Day 1 on my journey to freedom
Rest in peace man. I have a strong feeling this video will save lives in the future! God bless you Woody! From the age of 21-30 I drank nonstop 7 days a week. Ruined my career, friendships, relationships, my finances, and many other things. Going on 4 years sober now. As you stated I feel as if those 11 years are a chapter in my life that I couldn't even imagine relating to as of today.
My Dad died from Cirrhosis of the Liver. His symptoms came from out of the blue and were quite extreme. Swollen legs and feet (fluid), loss of a lot of energy, loss of appetite, mental issues from ammonia and Ascites. He was diagnosed on July 6, 2023 and died September 6, 2023. His last two months he was mostly in the hospital. 12 days of Hospice care at home before death. The transition was a quick one. Alcohol and cigarettes played a huge role due to low oxygen levels, diminished lungs, low red blood cell count, low hemoglobin, anemia etc etc. I miss him so much!
It is sad. My dad died as a result of smoking in 1990! Still miss him. Too young and missed so much of our lives. Enjoy every day and fully appreciate those around you!
Sorry for your loss. My 30 year old son died of the same thing your Father did, back in May of this year. He was home for the last 5 weeks of his life. It was hard watching him waste away, but he wanted to do as much as possible before he passed. We did do alot of things with him, and we suffered with him too. This caught me totally by surprise. I have never known anyone his age have this happen. I still feel like he got cheated. His birthday recently came and went, and now I am preparing to get through Christmas without him. It amazed me how little "modern medicine" can do for this. It felt so hopeless, and helpless. I am sorry again for your loss, I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. Peace.
I can relate. Brother was diagnosed in July 2023 and passed September 2023. It was fast. Six weeks from diagnosis to death. First symptom was in July 2023. Miss him terribly!
Short answer: No. He was flown to Denver for a transplant evaluation, and he was denied due to the bad state of his kidneys. He wouldn't have had enough time anyway for a transplant. He was gone 5 weeks after he got home from Denver. Thanks for asking. Peace@@valeriemikepinera3828
My beloved cousin died of multiple organ failure today after trying to quit drinking for years and being noticeably sick for less than a week. She left 2 precious little boys behind. We are devastated.
Hope you quit. I'm 36. I too was drinking for years with some short periods of abstinence. Went hard last year (12-15 beers a day) for three months. Had a few ER trips from complications and was told my liver enzymes were ten times the normal levels (300+). Normal is 30. I finally got sick of being sick and went to the ER and asked them to write me a benzodiazepine taper (5 days of Librium) to take to a rehab with me. I'm grateful to God that I'm now alcohol free for about a year and a half. I don't believe in keeping a sober date but I don't knock those that do. My liver enzymes are back in the normal range and I thank the good Lord for helping me make it out. I pray you already quit beings your comment was a while ago but I'm praying for you. God bless you!!!!

Currently drinking green tea with ginger, its delicious. I am pretty sleepy, but I think that will pass. Thanks for your kind words. @@WestieWestie
My friend died yesterday at 43 years old. We found him naked in bathroom. He drank himself to death. He was only diagnosed with a fatty liver. We are so upset
Anyone reading this and have this issue, don't lose hope. My neighbors daughter was at stage 3 if I recall, was on the transplant list, they gave her 6 months to live. They got her on a diet that sounds similar to keto, basically no carbs or sugar, and was able to reverse it and get off the transplant list.
Please check again. Not so easy. It takes lots of work and time and never goes away. Second, sometimes 3rd opinions help but always lurks in the background. I know. 2010 passed out, cracked head open, 911, last rites. Always at Dr's for years. Nobody knew until ammonia odor. 14 years ago. 2 other episodes. Still here. Thank God.
Some of my doctors are now good friends. It's important to have doctors that care about you on your side. I could not have survived my liver Cirrhosis without all the free time they've provided me for needed help and questions. My doctor is available to me 24/7 and at times I've needed that availability. I feel bad for people that don't have that kind of relationship with their doctors.
I have early stage 4 non alcoholic cirrhosis. It’s caused a domino effect of problems with the spleen, gallbladder, and lymph nodes. Cirrhosis is a rough ride. Thanks for sharing your story my friend.
Far away, beyond your future, early in the morning, in the light of my kitchen I hear your story and thank you for sharing it. Sometimes I drink too much. Not the same, but I will remember you and not push it.
Thank you, so much, for telling your story. My son is 37, and has been diagnosed with cirrhosis just two days ago. He’s still drinking heavily, and is struggling to come to terms with what this all means. Your down-to-earth telling of your story, may just be what he needs to get some clarity. I’m being respectful of his independence as an adult, but as a mother, it’s hard not to dive in and make everything better. I can’t do that. It’s got to come from him and I can only hope that he makes the right choices. Good luck with the transplant. I’ll be thinking of you.🤘
Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately this is a family disease, you might want to check out Al-Anon if for no other reason then to just get a better understanding of this disease and What you can do to assist
Hi Woody, thank you for sharing your story. Were you diagnosed with cirrhosis 30 years ago when you stopped drinking? My 34yo son was diagnosed last year and he stopped drinking, but I don’t know what his long term prognosis is. Seeing you still going gives me so much hope. I wish you continued health and the transplant that you are seeking. God bless you.
@@hemidancer64 Elin bless you and your son. I love you brother!!!! I just tried to schedule an appt. with you for a set up on a couple of guitars. Man this is devastating news. Rest in peace. You were and are always will be a shining light in the Sacramento music scene.
I had alcohol issues as well as smoking after getting out of the marine corps. I developed t1d, and at the time of my diagnosis, I was in critical condition but felt no symptoms. 2 weeks in the hospital getting stabilized, I came out alive and sober that was back in November 2019. I been sober since that day and I got a closer relationship with God. I ha e been sober and healthy since November 2019 and haven't been in the hospital since(other than routine checkups). Take care and God bless sir 🫡

Poor guy. I sat in hospice with a cousin as she died of this horrible death...eyes yellow, every cell soaked in urine the body couldn’t process, brain soaking in ammonia. RIP.
I had a friend in HS whose house was the party house. We’d all go there to drink since his parents were the “cool” ones who wanted to give us a safe place to drink. My friend Chris and his two older brothers were all heavy drinkers, but Chris started younger than them, maybe at 15, and by the time he was 21 he was dead. The liver itself is pretty damn resilient, especially at his age. What killed him ultimately was ascites, which is fluid in the abdominal cavity (which is to say in the stomach area, but NOT in his stomach/small intestine/colon/bladder). We all joked about it saying he had a beer gut but looking back it was ascites due to liver failure. Unfortunately for him that made for an ideal environment for bacteria, which lead to septicemia then sepsis and then organ failure as a result of septic shock. Keep that in mind if you’re like my friend Chris who thought he was young and invincible.
That's sad man, 21. The liver is very different for different people though. I have seen people with hep c who drank heavily their whole lives and their liver was actually fine still, very little damage. I have seen other people who actually blew there liver out in about a year from very heavy drinking. That's what I mean by saying people can vary a lot when it comes to the liver and how it responds. I'm surprised he had ascites so severe it killed him at that age. He must have had some pretty bad liver damage if he had that. He must have been in extreme pain too, as ascites is usually extremely painful. There are so many people who are extremely bloated though and they never have a problem. Even people who are fat and sort of bloated never seem to. I'm not even sure how you would know it's real ascites or very serious ascites. The kind you need drained I mean. From what I understand ascites is very very painful and uncomfortable though, the person should have some idea based on pain and discomfort. Do you know how much he drank between being 15 and 21? I knew someone who's liver was failing in his 20s from extreme drinking. He had end stage liver disease, but it wasn't at it's worst, and doctors were able to take care of it without a transplant. Very sad whenever someone dies young. I'm sorry you lost your friend Chris.
@@billj4525 i'll level with you, i extrapolated a lot of the info just from the facts as i know them. it was a real hush hush thing with his family and it was suggested well in advanced that inquiring too much into the cause of his death would be met with severe push back. everything i said about him being a heavy drinker and him having a severely bloated stomach, while being relatively thin everywhere else, and that he died very suddenly of cirrhosis, are the facts as i know them. as you've commented on, people can really beat up their livers and still live long lives regardless. however i've personally never come across, or heard of anyone, beating up their livers in in such a short amount of time, and dying as a result. it's possible he had some congenital issue with his liver, or perhaps suffered from additional comorbidities, however by all other metrics he gave the impression of being an otherwise healthy individual. the intent behind my post wasn't to skew the facts, but to let people know it's possible to die from liver disease, or some effect as a result of livery damage, even at a young age.
nurse here -- blood coming out the mouth, rear = varices "exploding," sign of late-stage liver disease. Varices = "fake" vasculature created by the body as a feedback response to constricted blood flow to a damaged, cirrhotic liver. They're both a blessing and a curse, but ultimately a curse. I'm glad you're still with us Mr. Boyd. I'm dealing with a brother who is going through this now and I myself have progressive NASH.
Thanks for the definition of varies. My husband just passed of non alcoholic cirrhosis. I had heard the term for years but not sure exactly what it was.😢
This is real and tough. We don’t choose to be born, we are and we try and make the best of it. This world sucks. You either have it or you don’t. It’s easy to fall into things that make you feel better because all everyone wants is to feel better. I am a commercial fisherman and I have lost a lot of great people to drugs and alcohol. February 24, 1987 the date God removed my compulsion to drink, I was 21 years old. But for the Grace of God! Rest in Peace, Another friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob...
You will wonder why you ever felt the desire to drink. I quit 3 weeks ago after experiencing a health scare and I will never risk being in that situation again so long as I can help it. I'm not too old either and haven't been drinking much or for very long.
my dad passed in feb 2022 from complications of cirrhosis brought on by a fatty liver. he was vastly overweight for a lot of years sadly and his bloodwork was always good until it wasn't. by then the liver was slowly starting to fail and it just got worse and worse. the sad thing at the time is i think he was in denial cause he had issues he blamed on other things that really all stemmed from the liver starting to fail. i only knew how severe it got when his legs started to give out and he had no strength to stand. watching my dad deteriorate is something that still keeps me up at night. i miss him tremendously. i feel for the maker of this video and any others suffering with this. the liver is responsible for so much and without it your body is just a mass of useless cells. please please if you are in the early stages do anything you can to help yourself. you do not want to go thru his end when he was bleeding out. i miss you dad.
Wow brother what a wake up call. God Bless you for sharing your experience. Praying for your health and well being. You have helped others. I seriously wish you the best sir.

This hits home hard. I'm 32 and I have cirrhosis, however mine is non alcoholic. I also am paraplegic and suffer from adrenal failure. I've put my wife through 4 extremely near fatal incidents. The last in September. So close they had my wife and kids come in the middle of the night because they thought I wouldn't see morning. It's a constant battle to know this is going to shorten my life drastically.

This is heartbreaking! Unknowingly, I had caught HEP C in the military. They didn't test for it until the late 90's. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2000. Like most in the military, I drank way too much. Thank God the HEP C cure came around 2012; I was cured in 8 weeks. But I still had cirrhosis. I stopped drinking but in 2022 I was diagnosed with liver cancer. I fight it, it shrinks into remission. That's happened 5 times and today I'm on Chemo again. I weighed 220 lbs. (@ 6' 3"). Today I weigh 160 lbs. My wife, kids and entire family has been very supportive but they see me slowly dying. Alcohol should be illegal and cannabis legalized. I have never giving up but honestly, I'll be lucky to see another year? I'm 57 years old and have been fighting half my life. Sadly (I guess gratefully) I have NO other health issues. Which means had I never drank, I would be perfectly healthy right now. I didn't qualify for a transplant because all my limp nodes are too swollen around my liver and my platelets (blood cotters) are so low I often get hospitalized just to raise them. R.I.P. my friend! I saw a post that said you passed in Oct. 2022 :(.....
Rest easy, friend. My liver is shot from years of using non prescription pain meds like ibuprofen and such for a missed childhood back injury ( doctor long gone, cant sue) no help ever, been living w 2 broken vertibrae and a blownout disc, arthritis, pinched nerve, sciatica, constriction of the nerve channel, and the resultant knee and back pain, etc etc... Now my liver is shot, high enzymes, hardened liver, awful pain... No alcohol involved, yet, thats the first thing everyone assumes. Theres no mercy on this earth

I found it helpful to switch to herbal teas and drink them while watching TH-cam when I'd normally drink beer or liquor at home. I will have the occasional joint now instead as well, which isn't great for my lungs, but still infinitely better for me than drinking was. No hangovers, more appetite, more awareness & productivity.

I had a friend who's mother died from Tylenol use. Daily. The doctors grilled him about how much she drank, and he was adamant about the fact she didn't drink. Liver damage comes from many angles. I have fatty liver, and I also like beer. I need to make a decision soon.
My cousin also. She was 42. Not a big drinker but for her system- paired with too much daily Tylenol- it was a lethal combination and she died suddenly. Shocking, but it can happen. Warnings are on the label of both drugs.
I finally stopped in 2019 after the arrhythmia was so severe, I felt any day it could kill me. 4 years sober. Just couldn’t find pleasure knowing a few hours later I’d wake up with my heart racing and skipping, and wonder if I will need to call 911, and wonder if they’ll get to me in time.
Thanks Woody for sharing. I am badly alcoholic and had hepatitis. My liver is ruined but not in the end stages yet. I hope everything will go well with you.
Some people have a completely different response to alcohol than the majority- their brains-bodies have an immediate addictive response to alcohol. As if they are metabolically programmed to be addicted, independent of any psychological-emotional “need”
i drink evenings daily, too much weekly, have since my mid 30s, but i get a healthcheck annually, blood test and liver check and take the results to my doctor. That hour long check up is really important to me, and costs relatively little.
I am in my 50s and I am the last surviving member of my band. They all knew, yet they continued. Up until close to the end, they had a good time. It's a shame to waste talent, but those are the things that come about because of the alcohol. It's part of the creative process.
I'm 70yo and have witnessed too many of my friends suffer from this horrible addiction. There needs to be more education pressed onto young people on the seriousness of alcohol over consumption. I lost count years ago how many times I watched someone drink themselves into a stupor. Instead of airing ads of people having a merry old time sitting around with a cocktail, lets see ones of a young person with their face in a toilet vomiting violently. Lets see a person in ICU on the last stage of their young lives because they thought drinking was cool. Let's see a body on the hood of their car because they were so drunk that they could not make a rational decision not to drive. On and on these stories are written daily and yet nothing is effectively done to reduce the carnage. THINGS NEED TO CHANGE
More education? There is no money to be made in educating people about the dangers of alcohol. In fact, the exact opposite is true. The special interest groups from big wineries, distilleries, and breweries pump tens of millions into political donations to make sure nothing like that EVER happens. Do you think the tobacco companies were bad? lol These big alcohol companies do so much more damage than tobacco ever did both in terms of death and misery as well as in resources spent. These companies expect a return on their investment. Alcohol takes a long time to kill someone. Sometimes it takes decades. How much does the alcoholic spend on booze over the course of a year, let alone ten years, 20 years, or 30 years? How much does an average alcoholic drink in a day? Probably a couple of liters of hard liquor (at a minimum). How much does that cost? Maybe $30/day but probably more. Let's do the math $30 x's 365 = $10,950/year. How many alcoholics are in the U.S.? We can't know for sure but we need a number to work with. So, let's take the CDC's estimate of 8.1 million. What is 8,100,000 x's $10,950? That's right - 88.65 BILLION dollars. We have probably severely underestimated the cost though. We haven't even touched on the medical costs. This guy alone is seeing 3 top surgeons who are running all sorts of tests on him. He has (had) a transplant TEAM assigned to him. That is multimillions of dollars worth of healthcare for one man in one or two short years and now he's dead. Where did the money go? It certainly didn't go to save him did it? Again, he's dead. People have to want to avoid death more than they want to numb the pain in their lives or the satiate their addiction. I'm fairly certain that this fellow is now dead or so sick that he can't post. He hasn't posted on TH-cam for over a year. His GoFundMe is no longer accepting donations. Why do you think that is?
You are so right! Alcohol is actually a poison. Our gov’ts promote it, bars open until later and later each yr (will soon be 24/7). Our province just approved open drinking in parks and beaches! (I am in 🇨🇦) my hubby and I were both heavy drinkers but quit 15 yrs ago (now 65). Hubby is now dying of liver cancer but liver has cirrohsis too. I guess I’ll be next.
Quitting didn't seem difficult for me. I scheduled a date and stopped that morning. I kept busy with other activities instead. I got to know my wife and children.
The weird thing is I'm 44 and I been drinking heavy since I was like 20, and everytime I have a blood test or and ultrasound it's normal, I mean i take breaks so I'll drink on a Saturday then won't drink until Friday so once a week or twice but heavy, just wondering how I read about people who drink less but have worse....rip
I feel the same. I'm a bit younger than you, late 30's, been a pretty heavy drinker since my early 20's. Recently I had blood work done, and scans done, for a non organ related health problem, a sports hernia. My blood work was completely normal, with the only thing out of range being my cholesterol which is slightly high, but not by much. The MRI and CT scan reports didn't even say I had a fatty liver, just that the fat and iron deposition, and size of my liver are all normal. I've taken breaks from drinking, sometimes days, sometimes months, but overall for the last 17+ years I've had a lot to drink consistently. I have taken milk thistle and some other supplements, so I feel that has helped.
@@joe56984.....hey buddy, you should stop. It's scary hearing you rationalize it away just because some doctors haven't told you to stop. They don't know you. Sounds like you know you have a problem. Be more present in your life.
I was no the road for destruction with alcohol and cannabis getting drunk and high was my only joy in life... long story short i was always searching for the truth about life and the world... i had interest in Christianity from just a mental curiosity point, until i really decided to "try" it.... after short period of studying the Bible and praying i was laying on my couch and i started to wonder why am i feeling so peaceful? It was the type of relaxation i usually had after half an bottle of whisky or a joint, but now i was completely sober, it was a miracle really because i my default state was restless and anxious... after that i really became a christian and shortly was cleaned out of my old habits... total 180° it's really amazing what God can do for you.. man how horrible to have stayed sober for 30 years and then the liver damage kicks in,. I guess the good part is he got that 30 years but it makes me sad to think he did the right thing and still was taken out.
@@maxwell-gn2jn Thanks for mentioning this, I've stopped the drink for a long time now but that fear was always there, "what if the damage is already done?" and then I hear this poor man Woody died from cirrohis after so long sober.
Once while complaining to someone on how all these negative things kept happening to me, they asked “when these things happened were you drinking”?. After so e thought I realized he was right.alcohol players such a negative factor in my life. I’m lucky to have walked away with my health and family in tact. Thank you wife, for not leaving me when I was in my worst self. God knows where I would be today without you❤
I really hesitate to say this but just in case... I lost about a hundred pounds in four months by going keto for a week or two and then just flipping to straight carnivore because I discovered I was allergic to a lot of stuff I was eating (some of it I was relying on daily like eggs). The enormous relief to my body of finally having a perfect food (beef) had me losing a pound a day for nearly the first eighty days. And so this isn't advice or "you should...", but it is what I would do if I was in that position. I think if I was in your condition my best chance to make it to that transplant would be an all beef, water, and salt diet. The biggest positive effect other than the weight loss was the improvement in my gut health when I started maximizing, instead of minimizing, my salt intake but since my BP was suddenly normal that worked. Good luck, godspeed. My brother died at 30 with a failed liver. I honestly wished I could have traded bodies with him and take his place in the grave, I really did. He endured suffering with the same grace that you do.

Doesn't seem like a change, but because the Doc said your going to die
3 years 4 months and 4 days sober. thank you for the Message.
Woody Boyd passed away on 16 October 2022.
I'm so very sorry!

I just found this wonderful chap today and now realised he has passed. Sleep softly, sweet Woody ❤
Rest in peace, Woody. I've only JUST NOW stumbled upon this channel. God bless you for sharing this testimony before your passing.
Ah so have I, bless him didn't realise he's paased 😢
Ah man. I was just cruising TH-cam and found this, and I was wondering how he was doing. 😞

Did he get put on a donors list,?
Short answer: No. He was flown to Denver for a transplant evaluation, and he was denied due to the bad state of his kidneys. He wouldn't have had enough time anyway for a transplant. He was gone 5 weeks after he got home from Denver. Thanks for asking. Peace@@valeriemikepinera3828

@@jj-nh8lz that's all I can do. Use the time I have, however much it is, to the fullest of my ability. Sometimes it's tough to even want to get out of bed though.

GOD bless you Woody, I am sorry that the bad decisions that you made in your youth took your life. I have said a prayer for you. 🤗
I'll have six years sober in January. Best decision i ever made.
If there was ever a video that didn't need ad breaks every 30 seconds it would be this one
My Nana Gladice died of liver cirrhosis. My Nana quit drinking alcohol the year I was born in 1985 but it was already too late, she died when I was 4 in 89’, she was in her 50s. My Nana drank heavily after her son, My Dads younger Brother died in 1980, he was hit by a car. I still remember her believe it or not.
Sorry to hear that
@@ceasarwright7567 Thanx, I appreciate the sentiment.
After people stop drinking please get full blood work done. Hepatitis can take several yrs to damage your liver even in sobriety.
Woody I have had family pass from this. Absolutely horrible. I am so happy I gave up the drink. It truly is a poison. To your body, mind and spirit. May your path to your next life be peaceful Woody.
Very inspiring story brother, praying for you 🫡
Yep all that praying certainly helped
Currently struggling with drinking..rip my guy. Hope I can kick the bad habit
You can do it. One day at a time. Just for today, I'll choose to not drink alcohol.
Look into cataplex b . It'll help the transition for your body using your own energy vs. Alcohol. If you need more guidance on it look up Dr. Daren schmidt. He has a practice and you can pay for advice as a patient or look up his free videos
I quick drinking a long time ago. I always say to myself that I’m high on life instead of drugs and alcohol
you can do it big boss!!! you deserve to live a healthy life and youll be glad you did.
Thanks for sharing your story. Hope you make it to the transplant list and hope your beautiful dog made it back to you to CA. ❤
Passed 10/16/22
God bless and keep you, Woody!
Please know that my prayers are with you! I, too, have cirrhosis and even though mine is non-alcoholic, people who eat too much sugar and processed foods are in the same danger as you. There are many ways we unknowingly damage our bodies beyond repair! That's where I am at this moment - and I'm trying to eat MUCH healthier. I love that you are up-front with your struggles to help wake up the rest of us. THANK YOU and may GOD BLESS YOU❣️

Hopefully your husband is doing well.

Update?
My husband was diagnosed with alcoholic cirrhosis in 2019. He was so sick and yellow. He quit the vodka but a year later started drinking again. He drinks 8 to 9 beers everyday. So far no problems but I'm worried and have told him so.
@@debbierushing723 He will get sick again. We are on our way to Doctor right now.
Lost lots of family to alcohol, struggling myself. I’m in the uk so we have the NHS.National health service,or No health service. It’s abused by so many people that sounds similar to Texas. I’m hoping for you buddy!!Sincerly. I hope you win your fight.Damn man I could just watch 3/4 of your post.Worlds a mess!
Man, I pray you have stopped especially after seeing so many family members die and suffer from this. I mean you were given so many red flags. How can you turn around and do it to yourself I just don’t understand. Not having the knowledge of how bad alcohol can be, is definitely a reason why so many people abuse it but after you have the knowledge that there’s no excuse to drink unless you want to kill yourself. I pray you are sober and healthy
@@colleenconger5265 Hello. After reading your message I had to reply. I realised I could give you a why/how but that’s just my story. I escaped and I hope you continue to pray as I do for all we have is each other.
Thank you Woody. God rest your soul. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
I had a friend who's mother died from Tylenol use. Daily. The doctors grilled him about how much she drank, and he was adamant about the fact she didn't drink. Liver damage comes from many angles. I have fatty liver, and I also like beer. I need to make a decision soon.
Try a product called liver aid. Don't eat gluten anymore.
You are a blessing to all who see this. I hope many young people do. One taste or try of addictive substances can chart the course of ones life.
watched my nephew die of this at 42. I had no idea a person could turn so yellow. Yellow mustard yellow. he was in a coma at the end.
Wishing you the best and your body and spirit to be victorious ....dunno how this vidéo came in my suggestions , love and support from Belgium
Prayers 🙏 for you bud !

Thanks Woody for sharing.
I am badly alcoholic and had hepatitis. My liver is ruined but not in the end stages yet.
I hope everything will go well with you.
He died
How do u know he died
Some people have a completely different response to alcohol than the majority- their brains-bodies have an immediate addictive response to alcohol. As if they are metabolically programmed to be addicted, independent of any psychological-emotional “need”
People with Addictive personality have to be very careful, it’s not just alcohol they have a problem with.
i drink evenings daily, too much weekly, have since my mid 30s, but i get a healthcheck annually, blood test and liver check and take the results to my doctor. That hour long check up is really important to me, and costs relatively little.
Woody passed away soon after this video.

Good luck to you Woody from Scotland UK

My husband's 28 year old nephew was found dead from alcohol. Died in his sleep. His poor mom.
At least 2 summers passed 365 days. Zero alcohol. Healthier eating. Walks every day. 30 minutes in the sun
You are drinking relatively sensible only twice a week. I only drink twice a week, once for four days the other for three days.
Give it another 10 years.

I guess the good part is he got that 30 years but it makes me sad to think he did the right thing and still was taken out.

we all get taken out in the end. there is no avoiding it.
