    I wish I'd seen this before I built one. Yes, it does test one's patience and what few skills might be present. I had even started it and put it away for a while, knowing what was lying ahead. I decided to persevere and take my chances. It actually came out pretty darn good! I see your headlights surrounds are just a tick from meeting the tops of the fenders. Yeah, mine too. Great job on a difficult model, Sir.

      Thank you. Since building this kit I have been more diligent to test fit parts before I paint. But perseverance will make a model turn out good.

    You did an amazing job with this kit. I’ve always passed up on this. After this video I picked one up. Awesome job!👍🤘

      Awesome! I am sure you will do well with this kit. Just be sure to test fit bumpers and taillights before any painting, and the engine fits kind of wierd, so test fit before gluing it in.

      @@dmgscalemodels2825 thanks for the tips. I try to stay away from MPC kits. But after seeing this video I’ll give it another go…. Engine don’t fit the general Lee either. 👍👍

    Considering the challenges this kit presents, you did a very good job. I have two MPC, GTO kits. One I finished years ago, looks like hell, and another one I haven't started.
    Good job.

      Thank you. I appreciate that. Currently working on a diorama to showcase my future builds. Don't give up on the second kit, use the first as a learning curve, and your next attempt will be more successful. Plenty of tips on TH-cam from various builders. Good Luck to you!

    Bare Metal Foil is okay, but ever since Molotow Liquid Chrome came out, it has been a game changer for me.

    • @dmgscalemodels2825
      @dmgscalemodels2825  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive used Molotow chrome pens for smaller stuff, have yet to try it on window trim. Perhaps one day I will trust myself to apply it and not mess up.

    • @v8cool231
      @v8cool231 ปีที่แล้ว

      Molotow is very fragile though. You can barely touch it without it going dull. Especially if you need to clean your models. Molotow seems to hate any kind polish

    It's a difficult build because the kit molds are very old. This is one of MANY reissues of this kit that originally dates to 1967 when it was first issued as an annual. I have this one on the bench now and that is the issue I'm building, the 1967 first issue. The parts are nicer with no flash. Parts fitment is much better and the body does not have the annoying mild sink marks on the front fenders and rear quarters, though the P O N T I A C script is still prominent between the taillights and should be removed. I will be doing a little kit bashing though as I've never cared for the chassis or engine in this kit. It also has what is probably the most unconvincing Pontiac engine ever, the transmission is also wrong as it's a manual and the interior shows this car to have an automatic. After correcting these issues, it will build into a very nice model.

    • @dmgscalemodels2825
      @dmgscalemodels2825  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well when built it looks pretty good, and I am sure you will make it better with the kit bashing parts!

  • @v8cool231
    @v8cool231 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only visible issue I can see is the bodywork around the front lights. Its like the fenders are to wide for the headlights.

    • @dmgscalemodels2825
      @dmgscalemodels2825  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, this model had tons of flash and fitment issues, I tried my best on the fitment.

    🏍️ This is maybe the cheapest car model on the shelf today. It must have some issues.

    • @dmgscalemodels2825
      @dmgscalemodels2825  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure does! But if you can push through it you will get a great looking model!

  • @hoss1943
    @hoss1943 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I opened my kit , there were no tires or the rear axle. The grille was difficult to fir and rear bumper wouldn’t fit without modifying the taillights.

    • @dmgscalemodels2825
      @dmgscalemodels2825  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was lucky that all parts were intact, but the excessive flashing and poor fit quality made this model challenging to say the least. I heard the Revell kit is much better.
