  • I made a beautiful skirt from a shower curtain that I got from my Craig's List fabric haul! I will also spin the wheel again to see which fabric I sew next!

White eyelet is my favorite. The shorts look so comfortable and easy to make. The skirt is beautiful. Can’t wait to see your next make.

Lovely makes. The McCall’s pattern for the eyelet is my favourite pattern. I have used it numerous times

What a pretty skirt and it goes so well with your t-shirt. The flowy shorts look comfy. Looking forward to seeing what you make with the white eyelet.

Oh Nancy that skirt turned out so well! It looks super on you, I'm really in love with it. I also thought those shorts were cute that you made from 'our' pink fabric.
Eyelet lace (we call it Broderie Anglais) is so clean and fresh looking. I've made just simple tops with it before but yes that dress pattern has always attracted me! Good luck xx❤

@@socarole66 Thank you, Carole! Broderie Anglaise! I love that! I will have to call it that from now on! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for “our” fabric! The skirt came out better than I hoped! 🤗❤️

Nancy I think the dress from last week’s spin is just lovely. The fabric and colour look. really good on you. Really like the skirt. I think it would be beautiful in a cotton/viscose (rayon) blend. Pockets too 😊 I just love pockets 😄x

I love the skirt, so pretty! You might consider making something for one of your granddaughters with the white eyelet. I think eyelet looks so pretty on little girls. To make the skirt from Israel a length you like, cut off the bottom border, take out part of the middle and then reattach the border.

@@lgcb1295 Those are good ideas! I have 3.5 yards of the fabric and could make at least two, or maybe three little dresses! Hmm. 🤔🤗❤️

I make clothing for myself and a few other people from thrifted sheets, curtains, tablecloths and occasionally I find actual fabric (thrifted of course)!

I thought skirts didn't suit me either, but I accidentally figured out that it was just a wrong top/skirt combination, mixed with the right bra. I am naturally short and high waisted. And my waist is a bit thicker than in my younger years, as well as becoming a bit droopier in the wrong places (sorry TMI, but part of why skirts don't suit me). I love the look of a tucked in fitted top, or a looser top pulled out a little so it puffs out a wee bit over the waistband of the skirt. But those looks don't love me back. In fact, they look terrible on me. I tried wearing a pullover over the top of my skirts too, thinking it would make my waist look longer and it looked terrible as well. I also can't wear pencil skirts, because I have both hip dip and hip bumps, which tend to look nice with pullovers over the top. Then one day I did a pattern test for a top that had a curved, crossover waistband in the front, and had some fabric left over, so I made a slightly A-line long skirt from it, thinking if the top and skirt looked terrible on me, I could cut the waistband off the top and join it to the skirt as a dress because I knew that suited me. Amazingly they looked great on me. Then I saw that some people were wearing slightly loose cropped to the waist tops over gathered skirts. I tried it, and again it looked great. Now I have found ways to wear my skirts. Maybe you just need to change up your top styles with your skirts.

@@sew_So_beautiful Thanks for the great info! Do you know if that top is available? Or do you know of a pattern that is similar? You are right about finding the right top! I usually don’t tuck my tops in because I think I look better with them untucked. Thanks for sharing! 🤗❤️

@RunningWithScissors-th8jo which top do you mean? The one with the crossed waist band or the cropped boxy one? If it's the crossed one, it's a Sonia Estep patter , the Jaylin Twist top. It actually twists the waist band rather than crossing over. I forgot that because I always get that one and a different pattern test I did mixed up. This is the nice one, though. I made the longer version, but the regular length is probably equally nice, especially with a shorter skirt. Just for reference, I made the Pattern Emporium Heartlight skirt to go with it. It comes in a variety of lengths too.
