I used to release albums and it didn’t work. I realised that releasing regularly like this is the key. We need to treat music streaming like TH-cam. No one releases 12 videos at the same time…they release them consistently and regularly and the algorithm rewards them. Once you realise this, it changes your approach. I think it’s easier for younger musicians to grasp this than old guys like me that grew up listening to and buying albums. I’ve had to relearn this “business”. This young guy has some great advice and I thank him for sharing it!
True. We old people used to buy albums LOL. Now kids dont do that anymore lol. So what I do is I make albums, I posted it Bandcamp, then release it every week each of the tracks to DSP lol
I know this video is a year old, but I’m really glad that I found it. I have two projects releasing music. One is currently doing a weekly release to clear out some back catalog, and the other is monthly with all new material. Seeing your progress is definitely encouraging.
hey adriel, i hope everything is doing well:) i was hoping you could make a tutorial on making a song from absolutely nothing! i’d love to analyze your process because i’ve been at some sort of block for years…
I released a song a month for two years as well. And peaked at only a few hundred streams on each song. It's worth it because you become aware of your weaknesses, but don't expect to blow up if this is your only strategy.
