@@00simonwise It looks like to me this was an LWT outside broadcast coverage effort for ITV Sport as they produce WORLD OF SPORT despite being shown on Thames Television on a weekday afternoon, judging by the on-screen graphics and the music usually featured on the Saturday afternoon programme.
Who remembers John Rickman as the main presenter of ITV racing and when did he retire from being the face of ITV racing? A proper gent he was, trilby hat which he used to doff when saying hello to the viewers and a carnation button hole in his coat.
Well I’ve been looking for this theme tune for years. Does anyone know the title and who’s it by? I remember hearing this as far back as 1977;at my grandma’s house when I was 5.

John Rickman retired in 1977 from ITV Racing.
Somebody out there MUST have a copy of that derriere kicking ITV Racing theme.
