- A big chunk of commercials for you here, back in the days of 1982. Where adverts for Sindy, Marathon (Peanuts. Lots of Peanuts), the biggest Mars Bar EVER (plus the toothpaste you'll need to clean it all up later) could sit alongside alcohol, tobacco, and soft furnishings. Well, it is Christmas, and after all that hard drinking you'll be wanting some Aspro Clear of course, not to forget American Express, Intellivision, Daz Automatic (with a bluer kind of white), Pedigree Chum, and Contac 400 too. A double appearance of Mike Berry in different ads, and there's even some Cannon and Ball in here too. And that's not all. Sale starts Boxing Day, so don't be late.
Presented as broadcast, with all the boring movie and programmes paused out. :)
These commercial are much more calmer than the US, even back then. I am from the US and would rather view these commercials than watch all the loudness/drama commercials we have today and even back then :)
It's full of peanuts....it's full of NUGGET!
edbingey NAGGIT!
'The Blue Max' was shown on Thames 1:30pm 31st December 1982
Contact 400 for colds - the guardsman looks like ' Tosh Lines - Kevin Lloyd, from The Bill ( God rest his soul ). The holidays advert , where the ; big-haired, small-faced man , dipping his toe in the water, is Mike Berry from ' Are you being served ?'.
I was outraged when it was announced that they were rebranding the marathon bar to snickers as an kid and still bugs me today but I did notice the late Eric Richard (SGT Bob Cryer) in one of the adverts mind you it was very common for the bill cast to star in adverts way back in the day but great memories they were. frankie holtzmann smales. alienbugstomperfan
31st December 1982.
'The Blue Max' was shown from 13:30 to 16:15. There used to be a video up on YT with Thames continuity linking the end of 'Razzmatazz' over to a Kim Wilde special - which was from later on the same day as this video.
Oh how my life was in the 80's lol.
Comet actually will be 80 years old in 2013. The Knorr advert inspired a later 1980s advert for DTI. Great adverts there from December of the year mentioned.
Intellivision Soccer, fun in 1982 but looked like animated Teletext. I remember the games were expensive, around £70 in 2021 prices.
A terry cloth would not fill a landfill a Pampers would 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
i wouldent like to return to 1982 as that was the year we left school and went straight on the dole .
It shows .....in your spelling....( wouldn't..) There fixed it for you lol
the era of cheap prickly wicker furniture 😂😂
The song 'Summer Holiday' was also used in the 'Thomas Cook' advert. Warners, is that the same holiday company that showed its recent adverts? Sealink was a ferry company. Cannon and Ball in the Haven Holidays advert. Funny Contac advert.
Ed Bishop on the Sindy advertisement
That Sindy ad reminds me of those TH-cam videos where people have the Barbie dolls being bitchy.
Barbie was way superior then Sindy ever was infact the sales of Barbie was so hot that year sindy slowly disappeared and another FTW for Barbie she launched by Mattel back in 1959 by Ruth handler the founder of the toy company where as Sindy was an one hit wonder.frankie holtzmann smales.alienbugstomperfan
Is it me or is that Jim Broadbent and Sgt Bob Cryer from The Bill in that Knorr Quick Soup advert?
yes it is sgt cryer
Does anyone know if the guy in the OSL holidays advert is the same guy as the one buying a train ticket in the American Express ad? If so, what's his name? He/they look/s familiar
Yes, it is. He is Mike Berry, a singer and actor who portrayed Mr Spooner in 'Are You Being Served?' and also had several hit singles.
that advert with robin nedwell was so sexistl LOL
,Wwoooooooww!
Everything looked so sinister in '82.
Yeah it kind of did.. all brown and drab
Imo there's a pervading atmosphere of foreboding; like a horror film.
