――とある酒場の娘から一通の手紙が届くまでは。

Trust me it’s not just comedy romance, I rly hope S5 can get to that point cuz it’s right after this “comedy romance” arc, go read the book, it’s great!
Spoiler:
Frenya IS the grey hair girl in the restaurant and dating Bell in this trailer, after eventually rejected by him, she got mad and decided to take him by force. She used her goddess power to hypnotize the entire dungeon city so everyone thought Bell was in her clan all this time, including all Bell’s friends, excluding Hestia, the elf in S4, and the blue hair girl that can fly and go invis. Hestia dealt with the hypnosis eventually and the entire city declared war on Frenya. Frenya lost despite having the strongest clan, because some of her most loyal/strongest clan members believed it best to lose for her well being (yes Frenya is also suffering in this hypnosis situation in other ways.) Frenya’s clan is to disband, and she stays in the restaurant as the grey hair girl from now on.
I left out tons of details especially what Frenya was thinking during this entire hypnosis situation and why her most loyal clan members think it’s best to lose. Again, go read the book!
@@Stargazer_247 I KNEW IT!!! The very first time I saw her, the way she acted, plus the goddess, I just had a feeling it was the same person. I'm partially at peace now, would've loved to hear about everything though. Honestly, if I had access to the book, or knew where to read it, I would Binge it and not stop until I finish everything. I know it's a long shot, but I could you tell me a bit more about what happened, like what she was thinking, did she really love him? And why was she allowed to stay in the café? I know it's a long shot, if you don't mind telling me some more about it, if not, that's alright. I'd appreciate it greatly, thanks for what you already told us though. My friend and I thank you.
@@NGC_2336Sure! It is gonna be long tho sry about that, I also hope I don't spoiler the part that you don't want to know, but it kinda hard for me to avoid that. Again, spoiler:
Freya during this entire hypnosis arc is depicted as an arrogant goddess who is using her power to get what she wants by all means and does not feel guilty at all to hurt Bell and her friends in the restaurant. What is truly in her mind is revealed by a female familiar, the original grey-haired girl (Syr) that can literally become Freya, not just the look, this girl can share the same mind as Freya, even using her goddess power to an extent. For allowing Syr to transform into Freya and use her power, which is an extremely disrespectful thing for a mortal to do, Freya asks for her appearance and name in return. Syr gave up her identity and became Hörn. This is also why "Freya" and "Syr" can exist simultaneously, and actually, Freya is spending more time being "Syr" and Hörn is doing her goddess job. The restaurant owner was originally the cook in Freya's familia so she allowed Freya to play her wannabe mortal game, I think the owner sees a child deep inside Freya.
Hörn wants to kill Bell for rejecting Freya, and for turning Freya from a goddess to a normal girl whose emotions swing so easily cuz she can feel it from Freya all the time, but she can't. Due to sharing Freya's mind, Hörn is also insanely in love with Bell to the point that she wishes she couldn't turn into her beloved goddess Freya so she can love Bell as her own self and without Freya's influence. So yes, Freya truly loves our boy Bell. Hörn later reveals that Freya is in immense pain for doing all this.
Freya hates herself for going against god's rule to use her power on mortals, rmb that in this story the gods come to mortals because they love mortals so much, and Freya is no exception. She is turning her beloved "children" into her puppets. However as a goddess of beauty, this is the only way she knows to get what she wants, this is the first time she got rejected and she can't cope with it, like a child. Freya also truly values the girls in the restaurant as friends, especially Ryuu. She enjoys being there, as people like and befriend her for who she is not because of her goddess beauty. Later in the story, even as arrogant and possessive as Freya is, she offers to share Bell with Ryuu (She literally said them three can feel each other all day and give birth to Bell's child tgt.) Ryuu of course is disgusted by her. Freya lost her first and possibly only friend (at least Ryuu is def her favourite friend).
Hörn and some of Freya familia's cadre see-through that Freya has learned and acquired a mortal's heart, she is purely ignoring her pain and suffering by acting as the arrogant goddess that she always has been, also because this is the only way she knows. Freya is at her breaking point, they must break her out of her goddess's position ASAP so she can be free. At the end of the war game, Bell and others barely defeat Ottar, and Freya's familia disbands. Freya is to be exiled, but Syr, however, isn't. People who like Syr are willing to give Syr a chance, and force Syr to stay with them in the restaurant forever "against her will" (lol) as a payback for the betrayal. Freya breaks free from being a goddess and gets to be with people who love her for who she is, which is what she truly wants, relationships that are real and not due to her goddess power. Well, our playboy Bell despite rejecting Syr, will be her knight from now on to prevent her from abusing her power again and Syr says she will continue liking Bell. The end.
How Hestia broke Freya's hypnosis on the city, Ottar vs Bell fight, and what comes after the fight, are my fav climax of this chapter so I skipped them, enjoy when you watch the anime or the book :)

But I appreciate you leaving out exact details about the hypnosis, fight and aftermath. Like you said, those are the climax so I'm looking forward to those suspenseful scenes being animated. It didn't even feel long, I was enjoying all the info you wrote I found myself at the bottom in what felt like 10 secs. All this info is so very, greatly appreciated you have no idea. Thank you very much for replying and taking the time to write all that, finding out more about the story, especially this arc, has been thrilling, it made my day. I'm gonna try my best to find where to read the book, if I do I'll start from scratch and enjoy every single detail it has to offer. I still can't believe all that is gonna happen in the anime though, that is insane, the earlier seasons were crazy, a lot of action and thrilling suspense scenes, but season 4, along with this upcoming season, are really intense. Plot thickens. In any case, thanks again for writing all this and taking the time to reply to my questions, I really really appreciate it. I'll see if I can find the LNs online as well. I feel like the War Game needs to be its own full season. It was a full volume in the LN, and it was the thickest volume by far. That whole arc needs time to cook.

Another spoiler is syr give a necklace that have a symbol of Freya familia
Since the beginning i thought syr is actually that one goddess with the gray hair , or possibly her clone of sorts

I love this series. Ever since the first season and waited years for the second season to get adapted i've been a huge fan. Every season keeps getting better. Season 4 so far is my favorite. Love the chemistry between bell and Ryu. Never thought i'd see a arc with them getting closer with eachother.
Also I personally think Bell loves the goddess more than Ais deep down. The end of season 2 and his doubts of a human and god/goddess being together romantically supports this. Ais is more of a onee chan than a lover for my boy Bell.

It's almost 10 years. I can still remember how big the opening was.
I was all about the Ais train until s4' amazing ending with Ryu. Their chemistry is incredible. Hopefully, Ryu gets some screen time with her newly discovered emotions. And the hair changes means they're paying extra attention to her. Nonetheless, really glad this series is getting continued support.
