- Snake gourd is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of South and Southeast Asia.
This easy to grow decorative gourd is a vigorous plant that produces long elongated green fruits that is edible and is part of the family as cucumbers, pumpkin, and courgette.
I grew snake gourds in the UK and took an amazing harvest and have saved up the seeds for next summer. Please follow me @RosyDaisy more ideas.

Thanks Rosy i grew these this year. The weather was so bad with rain. But im starting now to get about 20 of these growing from 2 plants. Im hoping that they will grow to a reasonable size hopefully before it cools down in Uk i think the summers happen later now though. Many thanks again for generously giving your knowledge

@@RosyDaisy hi my snake gourds are still small like about 15cm and dont seem to be growing. Ia there something wrong? Wonder if I started them odd too late due to the wearher

Is it papaya plant? Any tips for growing it in UK. I have many saplings now. Did not expect so many of them to sprout.
Hi Deearj, yes that is a Papaya plant. Since I don’t have a glass house I couldn’t save it. I am gonna give a try the second time this year 😊

Hi ……it’s no bother at all.
I saved up the seeds from the shop bought veg that I got for cooking purposes. And now I have saved seeds from the harvest this year to use it for next summer. 😊

I didn’t buy any seeds but saved seeds from shop bought snake gourd itself, sowed them and had a good harvest 😊
