YESSS. I've been maining dark pit for a while now and I'm really not that good, but it's nice to finally see him getting some fair recognition. Looking forward to some future vids and would love to see what some elite smash pit work looks like

3:24 If anyone wants specific numbers, the earliest you can fastfall a nair and autocancel it is frame 23. Both frame 23 and 24 are one frame faster compared to fastfalling during the final hit on frame 25. However, when hitting an opponent or shield, the final hit will have a ton of freeze frames, making the fastfall easier to time. Interestingly, fastfalling during freeze frames appears to delay the fastfall by a frame, so the fastfall will occur on frame 26, causing it to be 2 frames slower than a frame 23 fastfall (-9 on shield vs. -7). This also means that even though the second to last hit of the nair happens on frame 22, if the nair hits something, inputting a fastfall during it will do the fastfall on frame 23, causing an autocancel while still giving some freeze frames, though fewer than the final hit.
Pits pretty interesting for me as a mac main. For the very fact that he's a fundamentalist character. When a person plays mac they naturally pick up on chase fundamentals, ground to ground fundamentals and ground to air fundamentals. So when I played pit, it really translated well in gameplay, not as strong as mac of course but definitely stronger than most characters, cause it felt more intuitive to me to apply my skills relative to his moveset than most characters. I guess you'd be able to tell who a person mains even if they play pit, by the way they play him is all I'm saying
I’m a pit main and was playing dark pit while watching this (to try him out, still not gonna main him) and when you said dtilt to up air was a kill combo I tried it and it worked on Sora! Thank you
I think Nair singlehandedly makes Pit's OOS game top tier. It's not crazy like Bowser's UpB OOS, but you will never touch any Pit's shield for free, since Nair OOS is a frame 7 punish that can hit both in front and behind him, which makes it very hard to really shield pressure Pit, even if you cross up his shield. Dair OOS is also pretty good, since it sweeps front/below/behind Pit, and there's a chance of setting up a grounded meteor into Bair KO.
Nair and upsmash (frame 6, and kills) as OOS is good, but just doesnt stack up to be "top tier OOS". ZSS's up-B (frame 4 & kills), GnW up-B (frame 3, combos, & puts opponents in a bad position) come out faster and/or have more utility. Don't get me started on Mario's OOS who has nair (frame 6, sets up tech chases), upair (frame 7, combos), upsmash (frame 9, kills, and invincible), and up-b (doesnt combo, but comes out earlier at frame 3 and does more damage than pit's Nair)
@@statrunner upsmash not so much cuz the hit box is pretty bad. The scoop doesnt hit pichu standing, so if the opponent pancakes even a little he cant upsmash an aerial on his shield. Like even Peach fair landing you cant hit
Also there are some characters that pit can get more damage from a low percent grab if he does a forward throw rather than a down throw. For some characters you can do forward throw into fair and then either a nair for the nair plane or a regrab where you can get a down throw into aerials, possibly a down air.
in kid icarus uprising pit can use a weapon called wolf claws and they're on fire. It may not be a spear or a sword but at least it's some type of flaming weapon
I think im a Pit main now But not because of the video I just played him before for a bit, and he is so fun. I learned his combos very fast, also he has the best recovery in my opinion. With his 3 air jumps and his long ass up b he can recover everytime he gets offstage, unless you are just straight up bad in smash. Sadly his kill power is really bad. But evrything else about him is super good.
Hey there ! I have a question about getting better in neutral. Fyi i'm a zss main with 7M8 GSP, Elite smash starts at 7M4 i believe. Players of my GSP are mashers or also players who know what they're doing. I feel like i'm a mix of both I understand what neutral is, i can see the layers in some pro matches. But, i struggle to do it properly but more importantly to know what i'm doing wrong. Here is an example If i do a nair, 99% of the time, it will be shielded. Nair is safe, but i have 2 options after nair, Jab to punish a shield drop or no jab (like jump or step back) if i think he's gonna shield my jab If i jab, and the guy also shields the jab, i take a huge punish. In this moment, what should i be thinking ? 1. Oh well, it's a 50% chance, and i lost, it's ok, can't do anything better, it's a matter of luck and conditionning 2. He's shielding, so i should grab more and add some tomahawk BUT zss' grab is garbage and i get nothing out of it and if i miss... yikes 3. If my nair is shielded this much, maybe i'm just mashing and my opponent noticed it, i should do something else BUT what ? rising fair to catch jump, but if my opponent shields again, i'll take another huge punish. Dsmash is great, but it's not enough alone That's just an example of a situation but overall i'd say that i know i do something wrong because Marss hits like 80% of his nair and sometime i have an entire match without hitting one, but i have no clue of what i can do. And it's not something that can be fixed just by training more
one thing i see marss do a lot when he expects his nair to be shielded is retreat and focus on punishing how his opponent opts to leave shield (empty hop run back roll read dsmash is a big example of this but it also extends to how he maintains stage control in general instead of forcing pressure) also mix up how many hits of jab you do and the timing at which you do them to beat out the startup of your opponents oos options i dont really play zss but i hope this helps
I'm not great as zss, but I reccomend conditioning your opponent for nair on shield. Start off with nair on shield > retreat or cross up (add attacks as you feel you should) then if you pressure them to hold shield, try to whittle it down as far as possible without them punishing or letting go. You could crossup bair > nair > jab and if they're shield is low enough, you'll shield stab. If they're antsy, go for a read and cover their option or tomahawk if you're sure they'll hold shield. For this, zss can get away with nair > uair wherever the opponent jumps for example. Don't forget you can nair super close to shield to confuse the opponent without getting grabbed, just don't be predictable
I have been playing smash for a year plus, i got good at some charecters but there were no that fit what i wanted so i decided to play every charcter and i found pit was what i liked, i dont like how you cant really control your arrows as dark pit

I’ve killed with nair, I’ve killed with electroshock, I’ve spiked. I’ve gimped them with 4 arrows with pit. I’ve absolutely sniped them with one arrrow with dark pit. I’ve killed them without even hitting them just from their fear of my arrows and ariels. I’ve even gone down and used my down b to tank their up b and stop their recovery.
The reason why u shouldn’t u ftilt to get normal get up and Fsmash is that it’s basically the same move they both come out at the same time the only difference is one is safer and it’s not even a big difference it’s like 2 frames more I think I don’t feel like checking
Yes but even at 100% sweet spot it wouldn’t kill but a fsmash would yes it would linger longer but it wouldn’t kill ftilt would kill at around 120-140 were fsmash kills a lot of character at like 90 (just pointing it out i really love ur work for the smash Community and thank u for replying)
O yea also I feel like ur going to forget about this most people do but like normally side B is like Terrible if someone shields ur basically a sitting duck but one thing u can do to make it more safe is jump side B and Bounce of there shield tbh u can do it to where it looks like ur doing normal side B like they can punish that but it is a really good mix up when u take into the account u can do that then drift in or out
All true. But even then, ftilt is easier to land, safe, and will set up for an edgegaurd/ledge trap. And yes, aerial side b can be good for mixups, but I like to only use it for ledge cancels and when recovering.

Dabuz loves playing characters that have no hitbox on their Up B 👀

Technically Brawl Olimar's recovery had a hitbox, although small and useless
I prefer it honestly

You can, but I'm not sure that would help much since you'll still have to time the c-stick input correctly.

About Up-Smash: there is a kill confirm into it if you spike opponent with a Down-Air, though you have to act fast
Yep, I think he’ll go into confirms and things in the next part
Obviously. Literally every spike in the game combos into upsmash and is a kill confirm.
@@jackwei7785 not really for doc unless you have bad DI. It true combos from mid to high mid percents

I just realised that pit keeps his palutena bow in one piece for a while after some moves
I love that detail. And I love that his idle animation actually takes the bow apart if it's not like that already.
