The day I printed it off and started it was less than 2 months before the day of the talent show so I know there’s mistakes 😂

As someone who's been playing the piano for over 12 years I can say that the mistakes he made were 100% because of stress. This dude knows how to play...!
Been playing guitar for 10+ and can confirm it's all head space, if people are around it's difficult to flow. I practice to imagine people sitting around me, shocking to realize the stress induced and weak fingers/mistakes etc.
@@jurihilgert8157 that's a great method
How would you suggest learning how to play piano or any instrument for that matter?
@@nolanweis6 I taught myself guitar and also taught a friend, after 3 months of practice he was as good as someone with >1 year of self taught training.
My own blueprint is starting at the very start with easy low bar chords (Am, D, G etc).
After you get some easy ones down try a harder one, for guitar F with a finger bar. Then try adding a melody on top of that, just search easy biginner guitar riffs. You'll be off playing in no time.
Second blueprint (for my friend) is easier, if you have a friend who plays an instrument tell him to throw you in the deep end, skip the "learning easy chords only" and learn chords+melody simultaneously. If you manage you just skipped weeks/months of learning, if not tone the difficulty down a bit and go at it again.
@@jurihilgert8157 damn thats awesome ill have to do that
The most difficult part about this piece of music is being in front of an audience without being used to it at that age. He performed great for that amount of stress he had to endure! Well done!
Imagine being such a genius that you create a score that captures the melancholy and the urgency in the same piece and that's exactly what the movie needed. Hans Zimmer.

I don't know if it's just me, but your mistakes somehow make the piece feel more human and beautiful. They actually add to your performance
I dont agree. While the idea of mistakes adding a "human touch" might seem endearing, it undermines the very essence of musical performance: precision, accuracy, and respect for the original composition. EMotional resonance should not be conflated with something like flawed execution. An accomplished musician can (and should) deliver emotion without deviating from the pieces given rhythm and melody. While its possible to appreciate imperfections philosophically, in performance arts, the player owes it to the audience and the piece to strive for perfection. So please lets not excuse mistakes as an expression of humanity.
@@ascii5616 🤓
@@ascii5616 its not that deep bro calm down
@@yousof8546 Its unfortunate that you seem to have missed the point entirely. This discussion isnt about being "deep". Its about recognizing the significance of precision and respect for the original composition in musical performance. If you genuinely believe that an accomplished musician can effectively convey emotion without deviating from the intended rhythm and melody, then perhaps you should take the time to understand the nuances of musical performance before dismissing the importance of precision. Your flippant comment suggests a lack of appreciation for the art form and an inability to engage in a meaningful discussion. Next time, take some more time to think before you write another comment. Perhaps with careful consideration, youll be able to contribute something more productive to the discussion.
@@ascii5616 While mistakes can be made and be excused, I certainly do not agree with these mistakes adding human touch, and they certainly do NOT make the piece more beautiful! With that said, I agree with the points you have made entirely.

As a pianist, the passion is all there in this performance. For everyone that's not a musician here, it takes more than 2 months to perfect a piece. For something learned in 2 months, this is excellent work. Give it a year of practice and the muscle memory will make it impossible to miss a note. Every yearly recital I had, I would have to play up to 9 songs by pure memory in front of a judge with every expression and note in perfect place. It would take half the year to learn all the pieces, then the other half to perfect them for recitals and that was with daily practice. To this day, even with 25 yrs experience, when I play in front of any audience I still get nervous and miss notes here and there, but most people never notice because they aren't musicians and their ears aren't trained to pick up on it.
Even i'm not a pianist. I notice some mistake
@@tanah97 of course there are mistakes, this is a very hard piece to play especially within 2 months
Much respect to you for living that kind of life. It takes time and patience to get anything perfect and such dedication is very seldom come by. You must truly love being a pianist. I love how eloquently you put that. Very few times do we listen to anything live that the performer doesn’t mess up in some way or another, be it singing, playing and instrument or performing an act. I think in the times we live in now we’re so used to seeing a perfectly polished performance made in a studio with all the mistakes edited out that we forget we are human and mistakes are made and the performance is still beautiful no matter what, it’s the beauty in the chaos.

He did a great job but also I love that no one actually knows the name of the song. They just say interstellar but the song is called Cornfield Chase and it is composed by Hans Zimmer. The entire soundtrack of this movie is incredible. Good job!
Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan together is always a masterpiece of a movie
I knew it was composed by the legend but didn't know the songs name, thank you for that
This specific arrangement is actually titled Interstellar - Main Theme. While you are technically correct to say it's Cornfield Chase in part due to the fact it does contain that theme, but this arrangement isn't Cornfield Chase by Hans Zimmer. Not gonna lie - this brought a tear. The date was December 17th, 1982, at Dryden High School, in Ontario Canada - I performed solo piano in public for the very first time. It was a day that changed my life. Because DHS served students from several communities in the Dryden area, the audience was probably 4 times larger as what the audience shown here appears to be. Christmas holidays were about to begin, I accompanied a pretty girl to the "Snowball Dance" that night in the same auditorium, and had my first real kiss. Memories like this made this one of the most memorable, and certainly the most important, day of my life. I then set out to make music my life, and that's what my life became, and at 58 years of age now, still is. People don't remember the mistakes you make. What's remembered are the smiles and feelings that you can provide those people because of what you do, and much more importantly - what you provide yourself. It's the passion of music. I wish this young lad every success and hope he remembers THIS day, the same way I remember my experience, like it was yesterday, even though it was over 40 years ago.

Brilliant! Just brilliant. He was IN the music there, swishing and twirling with the notes. A beautiful recital well done.
Interstellar has a score that is so existential and beautiful. I love your interpretation!
Hans zimmer everybody
He did beautifully. I’m sure most of the audience wouldn’t be able to recognise the song, let alone the mistakes. He played so wonderfully
Everyone knows this song. It’s overplayed actually.

@@Volcanic_Activity you must’ve been locked in a box (or you’re really young). The movie is 8 yrs old and has been a focal point in the sci-fi space genre, just saying…
@@kingMT514 sorry, my friend commented that as a joke (she's hoh 😂)
As someone who's been playing this exact score for two years now, I can say that I STILL mess up some of the transitions - it is a difficult piece, and to play it that confidently in front of a crowd is superb. Very well done, I can tell you've spent a lot of time practicing. The sections where you go play at 4:18 until the end of the score are the trickiest to play, and to keep your cool and keep going is amazing - especially having only worked on this for two months! Keep up the great work, and make sure to keep putting your heart into your music.
What a great performance and show of courage to do it in front of such a large audience. Bravo sir
i love how halfway through at 2:45 they're like "its interstellar"
he may missed some notes but he nailed hundreds. awesome. the applause is well deserved. keep on, dude!
Find friends that give you mad love and support like this young man's friends, and you'll be set for life. ❤
Way too incredible to be real. What a great talent!
Right off the bat I love it how they encourage him but then have the respect to be silent to listen to the piece. My daughter was in a music school when she was 5-7 and performed in concerts where several grown adults were always loudly talking through her whole piece that we had painstakingly practised. It was brutal. Fair play to these kids, and to his beautiful piece. I love this video
You've got some good friends. The hype prior to the performance was something special. That was also a great performance. Didn't let the mistakes phase you, and played them just as confidently as the notes you played correctly. There's a lesson here, but I'm sure many others have already made the point. Keep going, and don't ever stop! It's all uphill the older you get, but it looks like you're in good company!
Faze, but I agree 100%!!!
@Elaine May That's a bit rude! He's just playing and doing his best. He doesn't have to be "elite" in order to enjoy playing for his hs!
@Elaine May most of the mistakes were probably out of fear, he's performing in front of a ton of people. I think he sounds amazing.
@@TheAmazingHoho576 phase* but I agree as well!
@Elaine May He's clearly not going to a music school.
This video is so addictive and i don’t know why, specifically 2:40. He plays with a passion completely stunning
such a great job youre killing it man
the most impressive thing is he almost completely managed to go ahead over the errors, almost without panicking. I've been there in middle school and as i made the first error i got all my body frozen from panic. well done
Ive had stage fright and it's hard to get over😮😮😊.
When I was 17 I knew like 2 easy songs on piano that didnt require any demanding skill and I thought that I could never be able to play this song correctly learning by myself. Now I am 20 and I can play this song perfectly. Keep pushing guys. If I did it you can too.
And I didnt kill myself trying to learn piano I just had fun with it
Thank you bro 🥲🥲, I’ve been practicing for two months now form no experience and. An only play bohemian rhapsody and another small parts of songs like runaway- Kanye west and etc
This is like one of my dream songs
@@kevinreyes7419 keep it up, the hardest part in learning any instrument is the motivation. If you can play with real passion you'll upgrade your playing by itself.
As an autodidact myself, I'm playing piano for nearly 3 years, I'm doing thing that I could never dreamed of, and even when playing still wondering how I'm doing it !
My next song is this exact song, interstellar.
Hope you have a great day, if by any chance you want to keep in touch and send me vids of u playing, or just talk about piano, I'd loved to.
(Yeah, talking with people that like the same passion as me is something ^^)
How did u learn, did u watch videos or go to lessons? I really wanna learn lol
@@zainabm2007 At fiesta I used to learn from these MIDI videos (and for some pieces I keep using them) but know I download several sheets. For this song I learned It through the MIDI file video
Thank you for sharing this with the world. ❤
The imperfectness of this performance is EXACTLY what makes this performance perfect. We have all witnessed a HUMAN being human and can easily relate to this moment of triumph over adversity. Well done!!
Exactly, I know nothing about music but I can easily hear how he transitions from the mistake to the next rift or part of the song almost flawless and sounds amazing, hard to think this is a high school performance
His unmatched perspicacity coupled with his sheer indefatigability makes him a feared Pianist in any realm of human endeavor.

What beautiful gift of music.
I love how silent the crowd was. That's what music can do. Lovely.
